Just heard on radio that #11 is available on the Patriots and 3 players have worn it for thr Patriots since Edleman retired. Seeming more and more like some AJ mental thing at Hurts.

Good. Now we can finally get back to debating the value of future picks!

Howie has spoken

Disappointed that we only got a fifth back in addition to the first but I'm glad all this drama is over. Now we can finally go forward.

Addition by subtraction.

AJ will be complaining by week six

Would be awkward if our passing game took a nosedive and Pats improved

Though people will just say it's the new offense. Hopefully Lemon and Smith turn out to be a great duo

Drake Maye sucks, the Pats are about to be garbage which is why getting a 2027 first was the goal. They know they're about to suck which is why they held onto it. Much better teams than them have down years after super bowls, they only thing keeping them from being a top 10 pick is their division. Auto 4 wins against the dolphins and jets.

This offense cannot be worse than last year, but if it is then it will be because of coaching and/or hurts not because AJ left. Worse receiving corps did better than ours last year, 2 of them went to the super bowl

2 SB appearances in 4 years, the absolute engine of our passing game. Hall of Fame talent.

It stings that he wanted to leave so bad. Whatever he had going on with Hurts, my guess is we’ll say "WTF that’s it?!!” when we hear it.

Jeff McLane said the personal beef Hurts had with AJ Brown was football related. He said when friends work together and they don't agree on things regarding the work, it can lead to a divide.

If the Hurts stories are any indication, I think Hurts reluctance to run certain types of things probably alienated a lot of teammates and AJ Brown more than the others.

A second passive aggressive move has hit the timeline

So, is Cole Payton gonna get number 11 now?

Not sure I buy that. If it’s football related then why would it affect their personal lives not on a football field?

Thank you AJ. Glad I got to see him in Eagles green. His trade set up an incredible run here with 2 SB appearances and 1 ring (which I got to see live and in person). One of the most dominant WR to play in Eagles green. Wish you would have stayed an Eagle longer

Lmao AJ Brown is not a HOF talent. That's wild

Tbh i think it’s much more simplified. I think aj like all of us saw the passing offense not be as great as it should’ve considering the weapons we had. However instead of putting most of the blame Patullo and sirianni, he felt like it was on Hurts and I’d guess what he believes is hurts’ limitations hurting his production and ability. So he wanted out to go to a team where he believes he’ll get more targets and better production with a QB that he believes has less limitations.

Let's be honest we all know how he is going to trade that pic. More than likely Jalen will be traded next year for something at least. He'll take all that Capital to move up in the draft in 27 and grab the new franchise quarterback with a fresh start and a rookie contract

If he plays 6 more seasons and only averages 800 yards he'll be top 15ish (I'd have to look) in yards with what? 75+ TDs?

Not as crazy as you think.

Six more seasons with those knees?

Probably not, but I suspect he'll have well over 800 yards for the next few seasons anyway.

Bet you none of that happens

I'm pretty sure that he won't be playing 6 years from now, at least not at any kind of high level... because he'll be 34 by then... and he's struggling to stay healthy now, at 28.

Reggie Wayne has 14,000 yards, 82 TDs, won 1 SB and made another, and is not a HoF talent. Torry Holt has 13,000 yards, 74 TDS, 1 SB and made another, is not a HoF talent.

What substantially more has AJ achieved than those two to separate himself?

Nothing.

I'm not saying he's a slam dunk to make the Hall. I'm saying if he doesn't completely fall off of a cliff as early as this season and can maintain relevance it's not the most absurd thing I've heard.

And to be fair, Reggie and Holt are as close to being in without it that you can be. What happens if AJ ends up with another ring or 2 and puts up similar stats? That's all I'm saying.

I wouldn't put money on it, fwiw.

Disagreements cause a personal rift between people. This happens all the time. Two best friends start a business together. They disagree on what things the business should do. It creates a rift and they are no longer friends. Basically what I think happened here. I think Brown probably wanted Hurts to be more open to doing some things. Hurts kept saying no, and Brown started to get frustrated and his love for Hurts diminished because of it.

Again. I expect that Hurts has a career year for passing yards and that this WR Group to be the strongest one we've had in years. Will be nice not having a dysfunctional bunch, sans the Diva. Howie has a chance of an A plus offseason if he fetches a vet safety like Delpit or Reid. At an A minus right this minute.

I hope you're right and Jalen does have his best numbers passing since drafted. Just makes him more valuable when we trade him next year

Fran on PHLY went on a rant about the idiocy of the idea of 1st rounders multiple years away have less than 1st round value. Basically verbatim what I said yesterday.

Fran reads the boards, hi Fran.

They both are going to get in eventually. Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson have less and are already in. Julio Jones has less and will probably be in soon too.
