They may think what the get back in a player like Garrett or Parsons makes up for Carter and it saves them picks. The fact that his name has come up multiple times means something. I am not sure that it means they don't plan on extending him. I think they would love to keep him and would have gladly worked out an extension if he was wanting something that was like a top 5 DT contract. A top 5 DT number would be closer to $30 to $35 million AAV, If his camp wants $45+ million AAV for an extension, it would explain why his name might be coming up in these trade rumors.

Plus I expect Eagles will get more and not have to send anything back. Unless it's a 1 and a 3 for AJ and a 4 or something.So even if it were just a 2028 1, it would at a minimum equal the Waddle return. A 2028 1> 2026 30th and a 3rd.
