I honestly have no idea what some fans see in Shipley. I remember when someone in the blog called him exceptional when he took a run of the mill screen pass for a 12 yard gain.

He’d have to win the next 3 titles in a row and be the best player on the team to even enter that debate.

LeBron is the second best basketball player I’ve ever watched but nothing touches MJ

Well @HazletonEagle loves him, if that tells you anything

Excited for sixers fans. I haven't been into basketball since the kawhi game ender (I was never a die hard basketball fan so that game just killed all my hope lol) but happy for all of you in here who are. I don't intend to hop back on the bandwagon but will be rooting from afar

It should already be over, because MJ is undeniably the GOAT. Even if he wins, he'll still fall short.

Him winning a 5th ring with Embid and Brown will just solidify the argument that he needs to position himself with great players to get it done.

Jordan massively benefitted from the archaic rules of the era. LeBron, with his size and strength, would've been just as good in Jordan's era. We can't say the same about Jordan in this era.

Yea, Pippen was a real bum. And that Phil Jackson? Worthless Know-Nothing, amirite?

Thanks. Sixers have been in purgatory for a bit but now we are back out in the light. LeGM is going to electrify the city. Could be amazing if both teams win the big prize.

I'm not saying Jordan did it alone. Pippen is my favorite player, so I know his worth to those titles. What I am saying is that MJ didn't jump ship when it got too tough, and he didn't recruit elite players around the league in order to form a super team. In Cleveland Lebron had to have Kevin Love and Kyrie. With Miami he had to have Wade and Bosh. In Philly he joins Embiid, Brown, and an up-and-coming star in Maxey. I'll give him credit for the bubble chip.

Why bring up Phil? Let's not use coaching as a way to excuse Lebron for his failures while underselling Jordan's accomplishments. Lebron has had a lot of say in who got to coach him and with roster decisions, so that's on him.

He’s pretty meh

If they can't win a championship now, dang. No excuses. LFG

When Jordan was LeBrons age he was in Atlantic City smoking cigars. Kobe’s last playoff series win was at 33. LeBron didn’t even join the Lakers until he was 33. You can’t compare LeBron to these dudes because he’s just on a different level. He just won a playoff series without 2 of his best players at 42 yrs old. Theres never been expectations for a player like that.

Every team he joined was ass when he got there and he won a chip with each one.

I'm bringing up Phil for the same reason you're bringing up their teammates. Both were beneficiaries of their support systems. Only one of them achieved that level of success on multiple teams with multiple coaches. For him to pull it off with 4 different teams, especially at his age, would be insane.

Jordan played in a watered down expansion era. Dude was being guarded by Mugsy. You couldn’t play zone so he was one on one vs unathletic slop. He never beat Bird and only beat the Pistons after they were old and injured and then recruited their best defender after.

Bill Laimbeer was the same height and weight as Kevin Durant. The "enforcer” wouldn’t have been enforcing crap. You give a 6 8 dude that’s 264 lbs a defense that can’t play zone against him with those scrawny 80s/90s dudes and he’s breaking them in half. Not to mention the basic defenses back the were run by smaller, weaker, slower defenders with switches like molasses.

Old bitter nostalgic guys like Barkley Have warped NBA history into delusion.

If it's a longevity argument, then Lebron wins hands down. I don't think what he's doing at 42 is unimpressive, but it's not going to make me view him as the GOAT. Also, it's easier to play in today's league with load management and being able to get rest when you need it. Plus, hardly any teams play defense. The game now is definitely more up-tempo, but it's mostly teams running and jacking up 3's.

Miami was 5th in the East and made the playoffs the season before Lebron joined, so that one was false. Yeah the Cavs sucked, but they brought in Love, Marion, and Bron at the same time. It wasn't like he just went to Cleveland and took a roster of bums to the chip, he brought some good help with him and they already had Kyrie.
