Pat mcafee is talking about how all the nfl teams are blowing their loads , and coming , coming hard , he can’t stop saying come. Adam Schefter struggles to keep a straight face. Is this what the Pat McaFee show is? What has ESPN done ? It’s like barstool level professionalism LOL …whatever.

It's sports talk for people who stream other people playing video games in their spare time. Embarrassing.

Dak Prescott, Cowboys nickname their offense "Greatest Offense There Is"

The Cowboys are talking the talk. Can they back it up?

Dak Prescott showed up to training camp wearing a Super Bowl XXX championship T-shirt. That's the last Super Bowl the franchise won, which came more than 30 years ago.

"It's just a manifesting thing," Prescott said Thursday, via Fox 4. "Going into year 11, I'm not going to shy away from it. When you don't have it, it sucks.

"Why shy away from that now? Why shy away from asking people to hold me to the same standard that I believe I can accomplish and that this team can accomplish?"

Prescott also revealed the nickname for the team's offense this season: GOTI. It stands for: Greatest Offense There Is.

The linked article doesn't say much, just recaps injuries and says it's encouraging they're healthy.

Haha accurate as hell. Remember at one point in time on nfl network we had mariucci , rich eisen and Deion sanders together discussing football? Good times !

Because they aren’t on islands with this blocking scheme. They were primarily isolated in the years with Stout. They get more help in this scheme.

Yes, I know.

For better or worse, this message board is my only source of NFL/Eagles news/media. The only fool I have to suffer is myself.

Option bonuses - paid before week 1. So instead of a salary paid over 18 weeks, they get basically all of it upfront. Every contract has a league minimum salary. By paying an option bonus lump sum, the Eagles can spread the cap hit over 5 years. As an example - Hurts gets a $50.285mm option bonus this year before week 1, and his salary is the league minimum $1.215mm. So 20% of that bonus hits this year's cap (~$10mm) + his salary ($1.215mm) + hits from his prior bonuses (~$20mm). So while he gets $51.5mm in cash, his cap hit is only ~$32mm. The cap hits are so low in the first couple years since there's only a singing bonus and maybe one option bonus. Now, you have Jalen's 2023 singing bonus ($23.3mm total) putting $4.7mm on this year's cap (spreads over 5 years from 2023-2027), 2024 option bonus ($38.875 total, $7.8 each year from 2024-2028) and 2025 option bonus ($41.33 total, ~$8.3mm per year from 2025-2029). That's $20.7mm + 1.215mm salary + $10mm for this year's bonus = just under $32mm cap number.

Using void years allows us to spread bonuses for 5 years even though there aren't 5 years left. This is why it all accelerates when the contract voids.

This amortization game allows us to spend a LOT more cash than the cap since we defer charges. Since the cap goes up every year, it's like borrowing money at a negative interest rate - the deferred amounts are a smaller % of the cap in future years.

So the cash at bank position is something they would need would need to manage carefully through the year with how contracts are paid out on specific dates - some lump sum payments, some weekly, etc. Especially if there is delta between inward NFL cash payments and the outward player payments

They can manage the cash and cap on the spreadsheet to move money around, but real world must be a heck of thing to keep track of. I guess why things like concerts etc at the Linc are a nice thing to having coming into the team to balance things.

Honestly, all their big deals are option bonuses due before week 1 - that's the big outflow. Only rookies and a few others have above minimum salaries.

Lurie selling 10% for over $8bn valuation ($800mm proceeds) brought a lot of cash in.

Not sure about that. The Beats only highlight the difficult catches. These same morons are boosting runs, without pads or tackling and sacks without pads or tackling. No real blocking going on with either. Every clip I have seen impresses me about how quick Devonta’s and Lemon’s feet are. With timing routes, it isn’t abundantly clear if the route was run correctly and to the correct spot on the field. It’s kind of like these defensive or offensive wins. We have no idea what the focus is for a given session. I watch all the clips and read all the summaries (except the Inquirer because they want a subscription) but avoid the podcasts and WIP radio with a passion. PHLY did away with newsletters for podcasts so I dropped my subscription for them. (They also would subject me to EJ Smith and Bo Wulf). During camp I even read the BGN and their alumni stuff. Those may be the worst Beats there are.

Off topic but Haaland looked like a giant on the soccer field but he isn't even as tall as Jordan. Very surprising.
