Does feel like a win. The first 3 quarters of the game with the depth that actually matters looked better for the eagles.

If McKee plays early instead of Dalton the game looks even better.

I don’t really think any of it means much but still for very purposes it’s better

Backup OL, RB, DT and LB all look strong

Said it when they got Dalton that he was washed and hadn't played much in over 3 calendar years... and almost 40. That was a bad trade. But understood that he was here to be more of a mentor for implementation of this brand new offense. So it really isn't that bad, just for that reason. Regardless, Howie just about aced this offsseason. As a bonus, may have found some gems with a few youngish vets & UDFA's who will be tough decisions on cutdown day.

Sounds crazy, but only really worried about kicker on this team. Feel better about safety, although would prefer another guy. And I think TE will be fine. We won with GC, for God's sake, playing many games over the years (when Goedert inevitably misses a few games, although was more durable last year because he stopped blocking, ha). And who needs a TE , when you have Carson Steele on the roster 😁 & can run more plays with 21 personnel.

Got a great RB room, a deeper WR corps than last year and a good backup plan on the OL if injuries start to beset LD, CJ or LJ. And Mannion is gonna do circles around what we've seen of late from the unknown, timid OCs we've repeatedly hired over the years. This cat is different and commands the room. Tired of being jealous of the ingenuity of the Andy Reids, Sean McVays & Kyle Shanahans of the world, where we were behind the 8 ball from an offensive scheming standpoint, before the game has even started.

Felt this week answered more questions than it opened.

They can't put Bernard on IR. He needs reps, but I like what I see. Weru looks good and needs the reps too. Its going to be tough to stash 2 developmental guys like that. Clint Hurtt must be loving this.

Bernard is definitely straining something in the next couple weeks.

Isiah Stanback is calling the DAL/ARI game on the local CBS channel...he is freaking horrible. Who is calling the the game on NFL Network? It's blocked locally here.

DAL moved Drew Shelton (Penn St) from RT to LT this week for the start, he looks pretty good for a 4th rd guy. Would be awesome to see him develop and take Guyton's spot before Guyton's rookie contract expires.

Bernard wouldn’t even be getting many reps during the season when the practices are game install. IR him, put him in meetings and work 1 on 1 with a trainer and have him get the reps next spring/summer

I was actually able to steam the game on my phone from down here ( Texas ) and I thought it was a really great game until the defense S the bed that last series. Carson Strong and Shipley both looked really good and Lampkin looked like he belonged. Super excited for Waru getting his first sack as well. Thought Gabe hall and Ty Robinson played good too.

oh yeah... Cam Williams sucks donkey D

that is all.

All is well in Jerry World!

Weru won’t be cut. He’ll either make it or be IR’d. Same with Bernard.

The biggest question is what do they do if they can’t trade Dalton or McKee. Don’t think they’d just cut McKee.

Backup OL looks good which is encouraging.

I thought there were some international protections where you can’t take a player off the roster?

Hopefully Jonathan Jones can still play because the CB depth is iffy

Yeah, they seem to need a guy there. Like TE they have a bunch of eh kind of players taking up roster spots

What did you think about Shawn Wade ? He had a pretty strong game

Not sure. I haven't heard much about him this summer.

If not, there should be. The only way that program will work is consistency with a team. And teams that take the risk, invest and develop should be able to keep them.

Random stuff.

Better than last week's game for sure. Bell and Lampkin continue to look good. Kendall too. Shipley looked better than I've ever seen him. He usually goes down on first contact but that wasn't the case tonigh. Steele made a bona fide push for an actual roster spot. McKee mostly looked good, although I've certainly seen him play better.

Dalton's play wasn't inspiring. He was pretty inaccurate. I expected Payton to find a way to turn the ball over and he didn't "disappoint". He might be a fun player to watch but I'm not sure he's going to amount to being a good NFL quarterback. It's possible I guess.

Last year's guys -- Mondon, Hinton, Williams, McWilliams didn't particularly look good. On the other hand, Ty Robinson did some good things. Not sure if he's going to make it but he might.

Stowers was open once but Dalton couldn't make a competent throw, so that was disappointing.

I'm still not as sold on Bernard as the much as the announcers seem to be. He's not quick off the ball. He plays too upright (without knee bend). Weru might actually be the better player.

The longsnapper seemed to have a good game. I'll look at that more later in the week.

There was one play where Lampkin didn't really make a block and at first glance probably had a bad play. And yet I came away impressed. One thing I've been impressed with about him is his balance. He always seems to stay on his feet. In this play I'm talking about, he got himself into an off balance position and yet still righted himself and continued moving downfield. A lot of linemen would have fallen down. (I probably didn't describe this well.)

I should probably go to bed.

Eagles extreme backups can not stop @mattwill 's boy Lan Larison from UC Davis.

I would love to see him running behind our O-Line.

Not this season. You do get a 17th Practice Squad slot, but the International player has to make it through waivers just like every other player.

I was pretty happy with what I saw of the offense. I think we have plenty of versatility to exploit the weaknesses both in the run and pass game. The first drive using only 3 different plays was a clinic in sequencing and misdirection. It felt like Val Kilmer with the tin cup in Tombstone. Funny in it's own right but warning of a serious dangerous skill set at the same time.

Then to seal the deal. I had a dream we were beating the Pats 65 to 8 with about 5mins left in the super bowl. Then we scored again as I was rudely woken up. So there you have it. Sorry to spoil the season for everyone. I promise the journey will be fun though.

What the hell? I guess this is why we released him?

Yeah, he can't help at all this year while Weru could help at some point as an extra Edge for passing downs and possible on ST. He could be a decent gunner.

If you can get a 7th for Dalton then just go get it. Tanner is going to be the #2.
