I feel so much better this morning after watching the game.

The backup OL looks very competent. Ebiketie & Epenesa look like solid depth at edge. Robinson or Hall will be a nice DT 5. McKee finally showed up.

The play selection created plenty optimism. Maybe Mannion needs to stay in the booth.

Seems they have quite a few developmental guys as well

Think he makes the team. My tough one is Cameron Williams/ Fred Johnson. One of them are out. Maybe via trade. Thinking Williams is the keeper, due to age and better fit for OZ.

In addition Williams is only 22 years old. Fred is long toothed by comparison. I have Fred in the Howie’s Trade Bait category right now … watching the injury reports of the other 31 teams.

I don’t if we should carry 4 RBs, but he’s more intriguing to me than AJ Dillon was last season.

Absolutely!

Majors needs reps at guard and may have won a job last night with how he played, especially in the running game. With the ability to play 3 positions, that is valuable. So you have 3 guys in Kendall, Majors and Lampkin who can play all 3 interior line positions. Quite the luxury. In regards, to F. Johnson he has struggled this camp according to many reporters. May not be a great fit in OZ with lateral movement.

That's impressive, but it should be worth 2 points, not 3. Earn your points... actually cross midfield with the ball.

I don’t count Dejean as a S, but that would be a reason to maybe carry 3 only.

Fair enough. I do count DeJean as a Safety, since that is his Base D position.

Counting him as a Safety does make CB rather thin.

117 yards for Steele.

Im not rooting for it, but Im also not mad if they trade Shipley. This offense looks incredibly RB friendly and if you get this from Steele (who I liked in the draft, but still...) then you can likely get something from someone's more exciting camp cut.

Maybe we can use Barkley...

Plus he looks like Thor

We need that. Haven't had it since Beau Allen..."Fat Thor".

Felt this week answered more questions than it opened.

They can't put Bernard on IR. He needs reps, but I like what I see. Weru looks good and needs the reps too. Its going to be tough to stash 2 developmental guys like that. Clint Hurtt must be loving this.

The newer IR and PS rules makes it much easier. You deactivate a bunch of players every week, so you just need to keep other depth on the PS...

I thought there were some international protections where you can’t take a player off the roster?

That goes out the window when the player is drafted.

Steele looked good but skill position players performing well late in preseason games happens every year in the league and those guys are often on the street in a few weeks. Just doesn’t mean much

The international player slot is an extra practice squad spot. Any team can roster the player on the 53 if they get waived. Also in theory I think the player can choose to be on any willing teams PS. It’s just that team might not be granted an extra international spot

The guy who might replace Ojomo is Zion Wilson. Bernard wont be ready next year either.

It was hilarious... and a little confusing when the broadcast had #78 as Myles Hinton starting at DT last night! That said... I don't know that I actually ever saw Hinton on the field last night, though I really didn't make a point of looking for him.

I can't either but don't want to research it. The league wouldn't investigate on its own. A team (say the Giants) contacts the league to investigate because they think the Eagles are trying to stash a player. That team would stay nameless.

No team will do that because every team does it, they can only stay nameless for so long. It will come out eventually and then that team ruins their own ability to stash

Rams would be within their rights to do it to the Eagles in the eyes of the other teams in the league for unwritten rule the Eagles broke when they picked up Lampkin last year.

Dalton trade only cost a 7th round Draft pick. How is that a bad trade? When you buy insurance for your personal automobile, do you expect to get that insurance for free?

It's like buying insurance from an AM Best rated CCC- company. You put in a claim but you may not get paid. Or some internet fly-by-night auto or health insurance company.

I’m wondering if the obsession with Andy Dalton is coming from Mannion, and has way more to do with Dalton’s theoretical impact on Hurts more than his actual play.

Yes. He's helping coach the new system. Won't be here for his play. Sucked last night.

Those insurance companies exist because they do provide a service to enough customers to pay their bills and turn a profit.

Dalton has already provided a substantial proportion of the "service” that Howie was looking for when he traded for him. That mentoring it Camp has been very valuable … and the primary reason He was added to the roster.

The cost for Dalton isn’t the issue. Late picks are all lottery tickets for different reasons. This was a lottery for a vet backup QB. We’re about to cut 2-4 late picks from the last 2 drafts. You occasionally get a hit but most are misses and Howie can manipulate these picks at will in both directions

I think they'll try to get a mid round pick for McKee. If they can't they'll try to get a late round pick for Dalton. If they can't, they'll cut Dalton. There is no way they are going to cut McKee. And I don't think they'd trade him for like a 6th either.

Dalton can't even make basic throws at this point.

I think Morris makes the team, we'll see about Jordan I don't think he's going to make it. I've been waiting on Howie's Jackson Powers Johnson trade since last year, it feels like such a Howie move that is going to happen at some point.

Barring that I think they make a trade for a tight end. Behind Goedert it's absolute trash right now.

True. Some guys are headed to the PS.
