Yeah, he can't help at all this year while Weru could help at some point as an extra Edge for passing downs and possible on ST. He could be a decent gunner.

Weru is the far better prospect. No way he gets cut. I think Bernard could go unclaimed if cut. He is a long ways away. Trying to figure out the 53 is tough. I think they go light at corner. None of the backups at corner have done anything. One of Pulley or Gush makes it.

Dalton trade was bad. Nobody in their right mind would give used socks for that guy. Payton may never amount to anything but you are not cutting him and keeping Dalton.

If you can get a 7th for Dalton then just go get it. Tanner is going to be the #2.

He looks cooked. I don't think anyone offers anything for him

2029 7th round pick (9th round value), seriously does he make it to the practice squad? That’s basically why I thought he was here - a veteran camp arm to help with the install.

Shhhh, let Howie do his magic. Maybe turn a 7th into a 6th or something like that.

I'm still not as sold on Bernard as the much as the announcers seem to be. He's not quick off the ball. He plays too upright (without knee bend). Weru might actually be the better player.

Weru SHOULD be the better player. He has spent time in a professional rugby program. He’s used to tackling, physical play, and lining up against other professional athletes.

I think people forget that Bernard isn’t just new to football — he’s new to organized sports at any level.

Most of the international prospects, like Mailata, come from some type of other sport. While obviously different sports, they’ve had coaching on proper athletic stances, in the case of Rugby tackling form, etc.

Bernard is going to take 2 years of zero production. It is what it is. We should IR him this season, let him learn the sport, get him acclimated to the environment, and get private coaching from a professional coach.

Ty Robinson was the team MVP last night. May have been the best player on the field.

Bell looked good from what I saw with the OL.

McKee should be back up. It wasn’t an inspiring performance but he took what the defense gave him.

2027 7th + Dalton for a 2027 6th is the type of trade I would expect.

Exactly

Dalton stinks but he is QB3.

Payton will stick on PS. He's shown nothing to make another team sign him.

Maybe show a clip of him getting push’s to the ground by one hand by the Pat (either T or TE as I was focusing on Weru not his opponent. Not much in pass rush technique. Poor at sealing the edge and can’t cover. Does recover quickly and runs to the ball. Bernard hasn’t shown tackling ability and is pretty much bull rushing. Was hilarious on the last Pat scoring drive on fourth down you could see the other DT telling Bernard what to do or more likely what not to do. Good athleticism from both but Vic is right about them at this point.

Dalton brings nothing as the 3rd team QB then there will be the season long debate about whether he or Mckee is #2. The Eagles could rotate them each week as #2 then you have a debate as which one is really #2 from week to week.

The Vanilla Gorilla has a good burst, but still plays a bit high and isn’t overly powerful. They schemed him up with the games which plays to his strengths, but I’m concerned if he has the pass rush to beat a non-backup 1v1 and the anchor to hold up in the run game. Still a DT5 to me, but I like confidence building.

Bell has looked better than I figured in the run game, especially off the snap on down blocks and kick outs. Still a bit clumsy the farther away you move his target, but overall pretty good for basically a 2nd round pick.

Tanner was fine, I’m not sure what the plan was if the Pats ever went to a C2 look to counter the rubs and flat spamming.

Dalton was awful on his first three passes last night. It’s McKee.

Ringo is the best of some poor CB play. Like McWilliams better outside than nickel and he needs to work on his tackling. I am going to rewatch later this week for the back up CBs. Ambry Thomas was awful. Not at all impressed by Wade or Bolden. DBs are put on islands in PS games. Right now I am looking at who, if any make the Practice Squad.

The WRs that won’t make the team were all pretty bad. When Covey is the best of them, it’s not great. But Darius Cooper would make the team if I were making cuts.

Epenesa did not set the edge well last night (neither did Weru for those amazed by him). Ramirez had moments last night. I thought Robinson played really well last night. I know this is sacrilegious to the folks worshiping the IPP athleticism but I would not cut Robinson for Bernard. Moro was drafted to replaced Milt because the Birds were likely (and did) lose him, Robinson was drafted because The same is true for Ojomo. Question is does he supplant Young this year as the #4 DT. Hoping we can get Lawson to the PS.

Braden Mann is working on his directional punting. Somebody convince Donnie Jones to show him. He line drives and that causes the kick to go out of bounds too early. Keep punting at that trash can, Braden.

Really liked the passes to the RBs last night. Steele ran better routes than the WRs that won’t make the team. Shipley looked unstoppable and he was playing against the Pat back ups. Would not be surprised at all to see Steele and Pierce on the PS.

That was Crownover. Weru was rushing upfield and crownover just swiped him by.

Remember when McKee should start and we could get a high 2 for him?😂😂😂😂

Dalton will look like most QB3s. Cole Payton would be worse. Cole Payton will stick on PS. No need to give him a roster spot over a better QB.

I dont trust TY Robinson from beating up on backups. We have seen that many times before from other players in pre-season. There should be no question about him supplanting Young who has produced in regular season.

The guy that should have a chance at the roster is Zion Wilson.

2 is out the window. But having not seen Hurts in this offense yet, we may still be saying McKee should start. Nothing wrong with his performance last night.

Yep, Payton is fun but a turnover machine and for a backup QB if you expect them to be capable of going in an actual game you generally want them to not make mistakes

Offensive line, with Stout gone is the biggest story of this preseason for me. Lot of nice reviews so far about the backup OL last night. Bell, Lampkin and Kendall are all looking great. Majors took a step in the right direction with his center to guard transition. Morris also looked solid after being injured some this camp. Is Fred Johnson out at this point? Maybe lands on the PS. Are they gonna give up this early on Cameron Williams? Had mixed results last night, but looked good in that last regular season game last year. Think Hinton is toast. Interesting next week or so....

I can’t even begin to understand how a guy who signed an NFL contract can go back to college

The Bernard & Weru hype is a little much. Bernard moved a guy is a pretty low bar. Weru looked nice coming off the edge but it was one play. And fwiw they hadn't played but it's clear they had been through football camps before. Arnold E mentioned he met Bernard a few years back doing a football camp in Africa
