BLG says he will be keeping an eye on Dae’Quan Wright. Given the BGN alum tend to tote water for each other, I project Wright as the likely overhyped longshot this preseason. Another possibility is Lawson, with Campbell missing some reps. Lawson’s tackling won’t be evident until PS games so, he is another possibility for the overhyped. And since the Beats have been beating the bushes about a S since that devastating trade of Sydney Brown, Pulley and Wisneiwski join the over reported position. Every PBU or interception in 1 on 1s will be examine ad nauseum. Given the handwringing about IOL, Morris and Roberts join the competition. Maybe James-Newby if he flashes in DL v OL drills might get a mention but he seems way down the list with the Greenard signing. Given the role of the overhype in the ranking, his chances seem low for getting the necessary attention. Those are the candidates for Nasty Nate for 2026.

Roberts and Lawson are the two UDFAs everyone thought were the highest rated players of our UDFA class and it seems they are two of the lowest paid by the team. That was interesting.

Wright has potential, but I don't see how he fits a roster crunch because even if Calcaterra doesn't make it, Mundt will. They need a blocker. So they will carry 3 TEs minimum. Possibly 4 if Calcaterra makes it and they consider Stowers like a TE/WR hybrid. I don't see Wright making it unless he absolutely dominates camp and preseason.

Agreed unfortunately. Assuming Goedert/Calcaterra are nearing their last year it would be nice to keep him around on the PS to see if he can be an eventual TE2 though.

Stop the politics. Mod 6 said so.

There's a place for politics. It's called CVON. Please go there.

Calcaterra is trade sweetener.......He's a lousy blocker and Goedart/Stowers combo will keep Calcaterra on the bench.....Howie will use him to to flip a 5th or 6th round pick to move up in that round to a team that needs a serviceable TE receiver.

There's no way they keep 4 tight ends on the roster.......probably one or two on the practice squad.

Unless there is an injury, I don't see anyway that Calcaterra is on the 53. Especially with Stowers is another purely receiving TE. He could end up being another one of those Roseman training camp/preseason trades that just goes for another player at the bottom of a teams depth chart at a different position.

There hasn't been a true Nasty Nate since Carson Strong if we are being honest.

Given that the base is a 3/4, sometimes Uar will be. DE, just like Carter and Ojomo. He’s almost big enough to play some NT.

Maybe a linear athlete can survive as a run stuffing NT, but DTs need change of direction or else the QBs and RBs escape them in the backfield. And pass rush moves also involve quick lateral movements.

I think with an actual training program he can learn the nuances. I don't think he'll ever be some stud DT but I think he could develop into a decent backup with time. He has the tools

Calcaterra is a only sweetener if you consider spit in your coffee a sweetener

5 pack of questions to kill time until June where we see if some action picks up(with AJ and otherwise)

1) Will McKee and Dalton both be on the roster come opening day?

2) If you had to bet who will be starting safety opposite Mukuba: a current Eagle or someone not currently on the roster?

3) Will Jurgens and Dickerson play looking noticeably healthier in 2026?

4) The talk all offseason has been the Eagles are going to run the ball a lot under Mannion and work the run off the pass. The Packers ran the ball a lot under Lafleur. The highest running percentage under Sirianni was 57% in 2024. Under 5 years with Sirianni they average out to running the ball 50% of the time. Will the Eagles run the ball at a higher rate this year than the highest in 2024(57%) and higher than Sirianni's average(50%)?

5) If AJ gets traded, who will be 2nd in the Eagles in receiving yards if Devonta is 1st?

Nope. Think they'll keep McKee

2) If you had to bet who will be starting safety opposite Mukuba: a current Eagle or someone not currently on the roster?

I think they're gonna stick with Epps. Whether that's wise or not, idk

3) Will Jurgens and Dickerson play looking noticeably healthier in 2026?

Nope. Only gonna get worse

They won't be able to because of question 3. Same problem as last year

5) If AJ gets traded, who will be 2nd in the Eagles in receiving yards if Devonta is 1st?

Goeddert, if for no other reason than familiarity with Hurts. I dont think Hurts will be able to spread the ball around as well as the offense will need him to

Answers in bold

1- Yes, with Dalton as the #2

2- Epps is the safe bet

3- That's the biggest pressure point this year. Their health/effectiveness could be the difference in a very good season vs very bad

4- Probably not because we probably won't have as many leads as we did in '24, but I think they realize this offense is at its best when the run game is clicking and Hurts and the weapons can make big plays off of it

5- Receving is close, but I'll say Lemon

  1. I don’t think there is a trade market for McKee. Howie may flip Dalton as he did with Joe Flacco.

  2. Current roster. Eagles fans waiting for safety help from the outside is a perennial sickness

  3. Yes, both Jurgens and Dickerson will be healthier. Mothball the tush push permanently, reduce the wear and tear on these guys.

  4. I don’t think Mannion had any input on run-pass ratio in the Packers offense. He was only the QB coach. Making Malik Willis into a serviceable player got him the promotion

  5. Makai Lemon. He will be a volume target and be over 800 receiving yards as a rookie

Actually, BLG, BG is showing on the Eagles roster right now. I believe he is a June 1 cut to spread his dead money.

No question, take it all day long despite the strength of the 2027 draft.

Ok, I’m going to buck the trend on this one.

I have been a Brandon Graham lover since before we drafted him and through the period when everyone said he was another Mamula.

However, this year I think it should not be a given that he’s part of the inital 63, and more likely, a mid season signing.

I have two reasons:

  • we want to see the competition between Hunt and Smith to see who to extend next year and we also want to see if Ebitieke can realize his potential and be a quality back-up worthy of a contract;

  • Brandon is older and we really need him fresh and leading for the playoff run, not early in the season.

  1. I think Dalton gets moved to a team that has an injury in camp and needs a vet backup. If there were a strong market for McKee, he’d have been traded already.

  2. Epps. I think Vic likes him a lot more than we think.

  3. Yes - Cam is another year removed from the back surgery, and they both had longer off seasons.

  4. I think we will be closer to 50/50

  5. Just to be different - Goedert is 2nd in yards. Wicks is second among WRs.

For 3, I hope Dickerson has been able to get some of the puppy weight he was carrying off; the dude looked like a man struggling to move last season and put some poundage on which didn't help[. Jurgens, I hope has had an offseason focused on strength and stability not post surgery recovery. A big year for both, but hopefully the rookies of last year will be a level up from where they were, so more adept to fill in if there are problems.

A fairly interesting BBC article about the turf being used at the upcoming "FIFA" - the NFLPA will be looking closely at how the turf works in NFL stadia converted from field turf and what injuries may or may not occur at the Meadowlands
