Dallas sucks. Their misery provokes my joy. And my in-laws first cousin was one of the Cowboys team doctors for two decades(they left after the Boys signed Terrell Owens- didn't think TO was a good example of a man and any team that signed him was not a quality organization!). I have watched from their season ticket seats, suites of wealthy friends, and eaten in the post game buffet for the staff. Such nice people every step of the way. Nonetheless, in the words of the late/great Eagles Brothers band, "Crush Dallas, crush them into the turf, make them whine, make them hurt."

That probably has something to do with it, without even acknowledging the pre-2000s when they were beating our ass regularly (we were 32-48 against them from 1960-1999)

It’s not only about their fans, it’s the whole franchise. Just a lot of disdain over time which included the "Bounty Bowl” during the heated rivalry.That doesn’t mean I can’t respect people like @Joe Ball - but I will always rejoice a Dallas loss to every team.
October 24Oct 24 The Giants are my most hated NFCE team. I had respect for Tom Landry and Joe Gibbs as head coaches. Much less so for Bill Parcells, who was a bombastic tool greatly aided by the Belichick defenses and talent. He had a very short shelf life and only minor successes everywhere else he went.I did like Tom Coughlin, though. He was entertaining as hell when he would blow a gasket, and I have to confess I did cheer for the Giants both years they beat the Cheatriots.

If this were a quick retool? Hurts. Totally. I don't think it is. This offense is going with a bunch of unknowns currently and many players that Howie hasn't even drafted yet. The future core on offense has not been established. And not even close to doing so. Defense needs 5 starters. We need to find 11/22 starters IMO as far as being considered a superbowl contender. At least. Long, long road here. Howie let this get this to sheet and knows it now. Need 2 great drafts in a row right now. At minimum. And the optimist would say 2029/2030, we may be in the hunt again for a ring. On top of it, we will likely be going through a coaching upheaval next season.
