Don’t they just give him a new deal?Admittedly, I am no cap guru…I just know enough to usually assume a recent big contract is rarely tradeable just a couple months later…The questions are understandable but the way Howie structures contracts makes it somewhat possible. If he could be traded, the Eagles are stuck with $4.7M and $18M in dead cap next year. They save $1.5M this year so call it $21M dead total. It’s a decent chunk of money but I’d still say it’s an out considering they gave him a $100M+ contract. Part of the problem though is the acquiring team takes on about $30M guaranteed so he may not even be trade able with his performance so far.
October 27Oct 27 If the Eagles pick high enough(top 3-5), you can bet your bottom dollar they'll be taking a QB. It's extremely rare for this team to pick in the top 5 and Howie will take advantage. Unless they pick high enough for Jeremiah Smith. Maybe the biggest advantage in sports is building a team with a stud QB on a rookie deal.
October 27Oct 27 I could be wrong on this but I don’t think I am…The main reason, imo, that Siri was brought in as the HC is that he was so green that he wouldn’t challenge Howie as far as roster construction went. If I recall correctly, a big reason DP was let go was that he didn’t see eye to eye with Howie and I’m sure it’s because he wanted more of a say in FA and the draft. Siri seems to have absolutely no say in anything now. He can’t even choose his coaching staff or have much of a say in the offense. It feels as though there will be a HC change this offseason but what experienced, proven HC would want to come here and have no say in almost anything? This is clearly Howie’s show. Perhaps Siri’s job may be safer than we think.

Terrible and inexcusable. The sad thing is, Barkley kept trying to.go play hurt, and I was annoyed with him for it. Sit down and rest, you're not helping by hurting yourself. On the other side of the coin, Greenard doesnt want to play hurt. Finally put his helmet on today less than 100% but actually told us before the game that he was just going to go out there and set an edge, not really rush the passer. We are all mad at him too.

The guys that were here 2020 - 2024 are missed (Ian Cunningham, Andy Weidl, Brandon Hunt, Brandon Brown) - FO was producing better results when Howie was working with them

It’s not just the dead cap. I don’t see Howie cutting bait that soon after giving up two 3rds.

I'm sorry but this was our Eagles Dynasty in the modern era. I'll take it.People don’t wanna hear it, but the Eagles are really due for a year where they just had a boatload of injuries. They haven’t had one since like 2020. Even years where they had a couple it wasn’t like a massive amount and they had guys stay healthy enough to play at the end of the year. It’s why 2023 and 2025 are so frustrating, because I had a lot of guys healthy. That they should’ve done better than what they accomplished those two years. I feel like every year in the NFL there’s 2-3 teams that just gets decimated with injuries. That team seems to be the Eagles this year. Add on lane retiring and Jalen with blood clots, it feels like end of this era and need to retool and just move in another direction from the coaching staff. Like Lurie said with Doug, Doug didn’t deserve to be fired but it was right time to move on with what the organization saw going forward.
October 27Oct 27 Does DeJean have a future as a nickel on this team or is he destined for a full transition?

He was average against one of the worst defenses in the league. In one drive we were moving the ball around midfield and he completely missed Cooper who was wide ass open 15 yards down the field and then on 3rd down he threw way behind Lemon on 3rd down. He was also missing guys wide open all over the field which Hurts gets killed for. Taking a victory lap over an average performence like that is laughable.

It was easier with Bryce Huff because it was just money but the compensation for Greenard makes it harder.

Very few coaches are also the GM and even less of them do a good job of handling both jobs.I don't think that's a point of concern. Siri has allowed Howie and Jeff to make the changes to his staff, and Doug didn't. That's why Doug is gone and Siri isn't yet.
October 27Oct 27 If Jeremiah Smith is on the board you draft him, he’s a generational player. Get him on the rookie contract and get an OT in FA.. they’re a lot less expensive than wrs

Besides Seaton, not seeing this as a super strong tackle class either. There's a couple guys but I'm not blown away. I wonder if there's a trade out there or FA.

Yes we've been lucky with the injury bug, it happens to almost every team. San Fran has been dealing with it for years. That's what seemed to happen to Doug in 2020. Now Nick is experiencing it after 5 years of success. The Eagles did something amazing, it was like a makeshift Dynasty with multiple Coaches and QB's and managed to get 3 Super Bowl berths in 10 years. When Donovan got there in 05, that was the 1st appearance in almost 25 years. Now look at the last 10? Since when do the Eagles go to Multiple Super Bowls? 3 Berths? We got so spoiled we forgot the struggles to even win the 1st one. They just did that the last decade. So does this season hurt? Ever nightmare season hurts but I'm looking the silver lining. We just had an unbelieveable decade. With muplite Super Bowl windows. Meanwhile this same Dallas team hasn't sniffed in NFC title game in 3 decades.

That's my point too. Those guys weren't getting credit, it was all, look at Howie go. Now that those guys are gone and things aren't as rosie, it's all Joes fault. That's not fair. That was my only point.

I really wonder if they actually believe what they are typing. They are grasping at straws. 4-13 is now in the bag. Depending how low Howie wants to go. Maybe lower. It's there for the taking. And almost mandatory and foolish not to act on it.

Then fans get mad when they don't produce and re-injure or hurt themselves because they're improvising. Greenard should've hit the ir week 1 to get right. Not trying to shove him out there at 70%. It's terrible and detrimental what they are doing.
October 27Oct 27 I look at this game like this, the offense is what it is. When your best weapon aggravates his hamstring two plays into the game, it was gonna be a long night. Granted they looked average against a really bad Dallas defense. Which doesn’t really bode well for the rest of the year. I think it’s gonna be tough sledding. But that is what it is on offense. Credit to the offensive line I thought most of the night until they were forced into having to throw did a good job. Lemon did fine against a bad Dallas defense which is what you hope to see. I thought Pierce before he got banged up looked solid. to me the biggest issue is it look like the defense from the start of that game basically had checked out. Dallas made some nice plays, but that defense look like they didn’t wanna be there. Particularly against the run. They just looked like they were like OK just collecting a paycheck and taking the loss. Imo that’s what get coaches fired is when guys quit and just aren’t fighting. Felt like that’s on defense and felt like that from start to finish.

Riq has the tools but just cant stop grabbing. Ojomo is good for one or two plays a game if that. Having said that, they are worth something to teams in contention with a desperate need like the Ravens with Jurgens.I would hate to reade Goedert as he has played well when healthy. Not sure what you could get for himAbsolutely. Ojomo for a 3rd this year should be move one. Riq had a bad game but so did the entire secondary. If they can get something good do it. Honestly, Baun would be on the table as well if the compensation is high enough
