We have zero quality edge rushers, drafting another WR would be straight idiocy i dont care how good he is. We laugh at terrible teams drafting RBs top 5 over DL/OL, this would be the same thing. I would be furious if we had a top 5 pick and drafted smith.

I understand the sentiment, but when you find yourself in the top 5, you sure as hell don’t draft for need. Drafting for need, filling holes, and checking boxes is for when you have a team that is ready to compete and needs to put the finishing touches on the on-field product.

The Eagles have very, very few stud players. In fact, the only two that can be identified right now are both on defense…Q and Carter. So if you want to make it a need thing, force picking an edge with your franchise rebuilding draft pick is more redundant than WR.

But when you have a team that earns a top 5 pick (and it’d be top 3 if we are talking Smith)…you draft the player with generational franchise changing talent, not the edge because hes an edge.

I’d support a complete reset. Fire Sirianni. Trade Hurts. The reason we won 2 SBs in 7 years with different cores is we acknowledged the 1st core was crumbling and moved out the QB at a premium.

Loved Dean. Would he make a difference here this season? Raiders have lost 4 in a row giving up 30, 45, 33, and 35 in those games.

Well it couldn't have hurt. Campbell has been really bad. Has all the physical tools which makes his play all the more disappointing. I look at Carson Schweisinger who was drafted a few picks later than Campbell. Was defensive rookie of the year and looks to be having a pro bowl caliber season. He has instincts which apparently Campbell doesn't.

I want to get excited about Bell as RT because I want the offense to have something, anything in place moving forward…and who doesn’t love to see a raw, mountain of an OT put it together? Problem is every time I really hone in and watch what he’s doing, he looks like he’s moving in slow motion. Just no twitch, explosion, or, frankly, strength in his movements or contact with DL. He plays high, leans, and reaches off his base constantly.

I mean seriously Dallas, you beat a bad beat up team. Why are you acting like you did something?

What I'm saying is the team is not good and whether it's Dean or Campbell or Trotter, we'd be where we are. I also think Campbell is not an MLB- he is an outside LB.

100% … the defensive line is the biggest problem

like i seriously dont get how fans are looking this team without aj brown and say we are better? it's always the narrative over what's been working.

Literal L-O-L

They really are living in the past, and not just their past... other people's pasts. That's really sad.

I think the D has more talent than is being credited for. As a unit, they are out-coached (Fangio is ready to walk away) and disinterested.

The lack of blue-chip talent on O though is very jarring.

Trade Hurts? You assume he will ever play again...he will probably be on blood thinners the rest of his life and not play in NFL

I could not disagree more here. The passing offense was not good last year. It stunk. Sure he won the head to head with both but against Mahomes the defense won the game. Mahomes also had no WRs and missed the latter part of the year. Allen has had to carry that Bills team with no elite WRs for a long time.

2024 we were a dominant run team yes I agree. And yes Jalen did what was asked of him when it was asked. It doesn’t make him an elite thrower. It just means he does what he needed. And to be honest not enough is made of how magical that year was for the run game. Teams stacked the box and still couldn’t stop us which in turn made it easier to throw the ball. And it still wasn’t elite or even really good. Being run dominant didn’t stop Lamar putting up big numbers. It didn’t stop Goff putting up big numbers. It doesn’t stop (and I hate to say this) Purdy putting up numbers.

I said Jalen's numbers were good when compared to two universally viewed top 5 QB's. You're arguing a totally different point saying the passing offense was not good. Honestly, the offense as a whole was not good considering Jalen had NO run game, a poor OL, and awful playcalling. Also, Brown hasn't been elite since 2023, which isn't all on Hurts as AJ hasn't been elite in New England either. Lastly, Mahomes only missed 3 games in 2025, but he hasn't thrown for over 30 TDs in 3 straight seasons and is on pace to do that for a fourth. We just saw him look terrible against the seahawks with no run game, so I don't really want to hear any excuses for him.

I don't know why you're arguing Hurts being an elite thrower. I think Hurts is fine at throwing the ball, and he's elite at the deep ball, but I never made an argument saying his passing was elite.

If the doctors determine the clot was triggered by an acute event and not an underlying condition then no he won't.

That's so reckless. Honestly, that approach is exactly why top candidates don't want to come here. You're not going to land top talent if they're worried they'll just get canned after 5 seasons, no matter how great they are. Seriously, you're willing to just cast aside a HC and player that have been to two super bowls in 5 years, so you can gamble on the FO drafting a new franchise QB and HC that will pan out. This isn't Madden, lol.

It's not an either/or when talking about need vs BPA. If there's an edge that's RATED in the top 5, and they take a WR, that's a problem. Sure, if there's no edge rated that high and they can't get mestemaker or Mensah, go ahead and draft smith.

We already have a stud receiver in DeVonta. Wicks is a fine #2 and they just drafted Lemon. Smith would be an awful pick if there is a viable edge option available in the top 5.

Ignoring needs and taking strictly BPA is how you get Campbell, Stowers, and Lemon. Ignoring BPA and going for needs is how you get Mukuba and basically every other safety this team has drafted since Dawk. It's a balance.

Nope, I replied to the quoted in my post without context, I didn't look at what they were talking about. What I didn't like was them saying the 2024 Eagles team was less talented than a bunch of other squads.

Also uh.....

Was the rankings based on talent alone, or things like how the season progressed?

I think they ranked the teams on statistical rankings on defense and they were also comparing talent, etc. Imo, it was a poorly ranked list because they had the Seahawks up towards the top purely because of their defense. They also had the "undefeated" Pats ranked over us due to talent, even though they lost their super bowl. I think there were one or two super bowl losers placed over us, lol.

Yup neither baun or Campbell are ILB.

Baun did his best work when he had an actual MLB next to him in dean and even oren Burks.

Trotter is a nice story and he has good instincts but he gets run over multiple times a game.

I really thought Campbell would pan out in college he was a beast but so far hes been atrociously bad.

I guess Fangio has retired in place, so that will take care of itself whenever he makes it official.

Clear out the coaching staff and let the new regime evaluate Hurts in the off-season and make a decision on an extension.

Really disappointing that the defense decided it wasn't worth the effort last night, especially when the running game looked like a legitimate professional unit for the first few drives.

Any semblance of an average defensive effort and that was a very winnable game.

Agree except lemon was a need after brown left and they weren't sure what they had with wicks.

In retrospect could have used that pick on a different position.

Having said that lemon looked pretty good last night. Hes got some real juice after the catch.

I think we are in for a rude awakening at the trade deadline. The players we want traded…and realize they are the players we want traded…aren’t going to have the market you think. Ojomo, Woolen, Goedert, any of these edges…not going to be a lot of takers.

Next tier…you’ll get offers. That’s Barkley and Baun. Barkley needs to prove the hamstring is healthy otherwise no one cares about him.

But teams aren’t going to be lining up for our trash. You’ll get calls about Coop. That’s a gut wrenching one to think about.

I'm going to be up front and honest if you have a top five pick and you have a QB issue and this is supposedly one of the better QB drafts, you're going to take a QB.

Especially when we need to start opening up that cap. You don't take a wide receiver when it's not even in your top five/seven needs. Worst case you might even have to move back to get as much Capital as possible to rebuild this team overall taking a WR that is actually your strongest position on your offense

2027 is either going to be a QB or a trade back if they're in the top 3-5. And by no means will they even consider trading up for even a generational WR.

Tough to argue that Devonta is a building block stud at this point unless we want to dive into semantics and really liberalize the definition of a stud. Likewise, Wicks is just meh. Better than expected. But not someone you feel good about as a #2.

IMO, that’s a box checking mentality. The team needs to get building blocks that are the reason they win games. It’s not time to check boxes uniformly across the roster for a 3-4 win team.

This is not the draft for QB, lol. We don't have a need for QB unless Hurts is forced to retire.
