Stewart is much more explosive than Simmons and, frankly, Simmons acts like a scumbag out there.

Saw Simmons acting out earlier in the season... but didn't Stewart get thrown off the SCAR team?

Trading DeVonta would incur an over $22 million dead cap hit for 2027. They currently have $37 million in cap space per Spotrac, can get that close to $50 million by post June 1 releasing DG and Lane. $28 million in cap space isn't enough to build out the roster - only 36 players are under contract next year.

Now, if they get cap credits for Lane's bonus, and insurance on Jalen, that could theoretically add another ~$30mm in cap space, but hard to know how that works from the outside.

But basically, unless we get a crazy offer (a 1st rounder and another high pick), the math isn't worth it. Can't take AJ, Cam and Smitty's dead hits all in 2027.

I'm not giving Devanta away for much less than the Tyreek Hill trade. Both were 28 years old at the time. I think he should fetch a 1st, 2nd and two 4ths, if it's the Chiefs. They will be in the bottom of each round. Sounds right. Not less, but maybe more because of the dead cap hit and has 2 years remaining. But that's my bare minimum. He is not Tyreek. Let's remember that! Chiefs screwed Mahomes giving him very little WR help since then. They are all in, at Chiefs kingdom. Can get a nice fetch here. Chiefs are deeeeeeeesperate.

I was wondering about the insurance thing. Is the insurance amount capped at percentages of the contract and spread over the years? You would think every owner (if they can afford, or want to afford it) would insure every contract of star players or contracts over a certain amount.

0/0% chance given his hamstring issues

He did but he was brought back last week I believe

maybe I am giving McKee too much credit on that throw, but when I watched it live and on replay I believe McKee threw it slightly behind on purpose because if he leads Lemon the kid gets blown up by the Dallas defender coming across.

How spoiled we are as a fan base. Lol. Tearing apart the team that’s crippled essentially and starting over. We don’t need to start over. We need a new coach and a couple pieces here and there and the birds will be back at it competing for championships as they have for most of Lurie/Howie tenure. Sit back, relax and let them do their thing.

So, I think you can insure whatever you can get someone to underwrite. Per Spotrac, "$85M of 2023-2026 salary is insured." IF that is correct, and IF it's simply $21.25mm per year, then the missed games this year (12 of 17) should be around $15mm cap credit. But that's a whole lot of guess work and assumptions.

Perhaps, but he had an easier throw with more potential to Cooper - might have been a progression thing.

I never rule anything out. Long season. Could be back for a nice playoff run. Chiefs are thinking Superbowl. Have a minimal shot if they don't fix WR. And it solves a long term issue. It makes sense, if they have assurance on return from hamstring in next 2-3 weeks. Have no idea on that. Gotta be opportunistic and hunting if you are Howie.

Letting Barkley back onto the field after he's hobbling off multiple times was crazy. I don't attribute that to toughness. That's reckless. Coaches and/or trainers should have said no

This felt like the timing throws they kept talking about in the offseason that we never saw once the season started

But you rip Hurts constantly. So he is not QB next year. Right?! Seems to be conflicting in being spoiled all these years, when you want him replaced. So who leads the way?

Oh the guy most notable for his foot fetish? Yeah, not exactly helping your case here.

Simmons is obviously very good, but that guy has some crazy celebration stuff going on. In high school he would T Bag QBs after sacking them, get up from the tackle, climbing over the top of them rubbing his junk all over their facemask, he has matured a little bit...a little bit. Then he did this against TEN a few weeks ago:

Yup - he’s that guy.

Yeah, on what planet is Tanner McKee getting us a comp pick? If anything is gonna signing for a minimal contract as a back up. And he’s probably not gonna be the first or second wave of free agency. Furthermore, let’s just say he got you a six or seven round comp pick, you think the Eagles aren’t gonna sign anybody this off-season that cancels that out? They just scored 21 points against a horrible Dallas defense and was the fewest points Dallas has given up all year. I’m guessing his market ain’t gonna be so robust.

I’d also point out Milton is a restricted free agent at the end of the year, so he could also get you a pick. If we’re playing the game of, we could get a pick. Somebody could sign him as a restricted free agent when you get a pick if he shows any competence.

Also, I don’t wanna put a rookie quarterback out there when he’s not ready. Behind an offensive line that’s not very good. With a running back room that might be down to their #6 back. And down their starting 2 wide receivers. Yeah I’m not gonna ask a rookie to go into that so can potentially stunt his development. I’d also point out, he was the 3rd string quarterback last night. So he wasn’t even the backup and the guy who’s been here for two weeks and sucks jumped him. So that tells me the Eagles do not remotely believe Payton is close enough to being able to start at Qb in a NFL game.

Yeah im not reading all that

But we are getting a comp pick for McKee

DeForest Buckner is 32 and got a 2027 4th, Howie is licking his chops for what Ojomo is gonna get.

I’d have to watch more of Stewart. I haven’t seen him as much. Seen Texas a lot more so far this year. Was following Simmons and goosby who were projected top 10 picks.

Either way I’d be surprised that the Eagles are picking in the top three if it’s not a defensive lineman or an offensive lineman. Unless they absolutely just love a quarterback that falls to them. that is the question we don’t know. I don’t think they would take Smith. I think they would use it as an opportunity to trade back to somebody who wants Smith and capitalize on that value to stockpile more picks.

Goosby is/was the top rated OT in college this year. He went out aginst Ole Miss last week and is finished for the season now. Simmons went out against FL the week before with a high ankle sprain, not sure when he comes back.

Very excited for the future team built around Hurts and a new HC.

My top choices for HC as of now:

1) Brian Flores

2) Decian Doyle

3) Shane Steichen

Ideally situation would be landing Flores as HC and Steichen as the OC.

Almost certainly the case. The primary read is usually the trail on a route combo like that. Cooper is the clear out that's not expected to be open, but against a bad defense like Dallas, happened to be on this play.

Been reports already that Steichen would have HC opportunities. He feels very similar to falcons HC stefanski. Where he gets fired and still gets a HC job next season.
