October 27Oct 27 Dude, what the hell. Enough of "Shane Haff" he's some dork on Twitter who is a wannabe Greg Cosell and thinks he's some film guru(he's not). Free to enjoy his content, but he's certainly not worth making 50 separate posts about his stuff.

If Drew is gone don't draft WR. Trade back and put him next to Carter. Hunt is injured and will be fine next year. Let Smith play out his 5th. Draft a S or IOL with the 2nd.

I think he becomes less likely if bell really shows development. That said if we are picking top 3 if the Eagles actually love a quarterback, I would not be shocked if they took a quarterback. This is the organization that fancies itself as the quarterback factory.

It tells me that the eagles don’t remotely think Payton is close to being ready to play an NFL game. Yeah I just don’t trust this coaching staff with these things. They’ve been ineffective and they’re all dead men walking. Of course Payton’s not ready, he’s had 13 starts since high school. Why TF draft him if you’re not willing to play him in this exact situation? As far as "running the offense,” we’ve had grave execution errors all year. McKee was missing high school throws last night and crapping down his leg. The only reason to play McKee now is to give him game reps so he can be a long term backup with real game experience. But are we really doing that with a guy we didn’t like more than geriatric Andy Dalton?

The complete and total lack of pressure from the edge allows teams to focus on the DTs. The only player that opposing teams fear is Carter which is why he gets doubled constantly.

But are we really doing that with a guy we didn’t like more than geriatric Andy Dalton?First off I don’t think it’s exactly just a coaching staff making the decision that Milton is the backup. I think this goes beyond just a coaching staff. I think this goes back to Howie is the one who signed him and picked him up. I think this goes to the Eagles had a higher grade on him during his draft time. And they liked him enough that they were gonna pick him up. And they believe if something happened to McKee that he could go in there and start for a couple of games or if McKee stunk or things went off the rails they’d want to evaluate him more.Secondly, you didn’t draft payton to start him as a rookie. You drafted him to develop him so that he could become a competent backup over the course of his four-year rookie contract like they tried to do with McKee. The Eagles didn’t draft him back in April and be like you know what Jalen gets hurt we’re gonna play him right away. He was always gonna be the third string quarterback this year (heck at times he was 4th string).Third, if you don’t trust the coaching staff, what makes you believe you should trust them with a rookie quarterback who doesn’t have much experience playing over the last 5 years, wasn’t even in top tier college football. More likely hurt his confidence and stunt his growth with this staff.Fourth, not putting a rookie quarterback out there right now behind a bad offensive line, down to your 6th running back and your two starting wide receivers and bad coaching. just hoping based off his 13 games of college experience he’s just gonna be fine and survive that? That is how you screw up a kids development.Fifth your last paragraph I 100% agree with you. It is why i think Milton eventually gets some playing time after the bye week. I think Payton they don’t want to have to play him right now due to how bad everything around him is and little experience. I think later in the year that may be a discussion if guys like wicks, smith, Barkley are all healthy and oline shows improvement. I think right now they don’t wanna do it cause they know he’s not ready and everything going on with injuries/OL

I haven’t seen him as much. Seen Texas a lot more so far this year. Was following Simmons and goosby who were projected top 10 picks. Either way I’d be surprised that the Eagles are picking in the top three if it’s not a defensive lineman or an offensive lineman. Unless they absolutely just love a quarterback that falls to them. that is the question we don’t know. I don’t think they would take Smith. I think they would use it as an opportunity to trade back to somebody who wants Smith and capitalize on that value to stockpile more picks.

Howie has left himself in a corner with handing big contracts out at this point. And needs to put good money not on past performance or older players. And project for this next era. I came to grips with this 2 weeks ago. New era here. Give me a Tyreek-like trade. Maybe 2 highs and 2 lows. A little less.Trading DeVonta would incur an over $22 million dead cap hit for 2027. They currently have $37 million in cap space per Spotrac, can get that close to $50 million by post June 1 releasing DG and Lane. $28 million in cap space isn't enough to build out the roster - only 36 players are under contract next year. Now, if they get cap credits for Lane's bonus, and insurance on Jalen, that could theoretically add another ~$30mm in cap space, but hard to know how that works from the outside. But basically, unless we get a crazy offer (a 1st rounder and another high pick), the math isn't worth it. Can't take AJ, Cam and Smitty's dead hits all in 2027.EDIT: and given Smitty's health issues, no one is giving us a premium return. You need to get back inside the box on your thinking.

Cause they’re not gonna get a crazy offer for him right now because he’s been dealing with a hammy all year. The team that’s trading for likely needs a wide receiver that can play now and I don’t know when Smith’s gonna come back. My guess is likely after the bye week. It’s why they didn’t put him on IR. I think they believe that they can get through the next 3 games without him and then have the bye week as well so it’s basically a month that he’s not playing.
