I figured that would be a problem for the starting unit who didnt even get any game reps. So stupid.... But we got away with it 6-0 in openers. Hopefully they can get it together quickly.Dickerson needs to retire.

Between Barkley getting hit in the backfield, WR screens getting stuffed behind the LOS, and penalties the offense was constantly in third and long.I think the WR screens need to get scrapped. We just don’t have the personnel for it. We don’t have some freak RAC guy and we don’t have good blocking WRs. The interior OL needs to improve is the main thing. The other issue is we have 3 precision route running WRs who are sort of a finesse ball control style paired with a running/deep ball/big play type of QB, so there is a stylistic mismatch in skill sets.If Hurts can evolve his game to be more of a timing/precision passer it would help. With the receivers we have, we should be able to complete a lot of 5-7 passes on early downs. Get us in a position for easy third down conversions and unpredictable deep balls on 2nd down when we are ahead of schedule.I find it concerning that we invested a first round pick in a wr they don’t trust to have run routes beyond the LOS and he still isn’t a freak RAC guy.

He did what the coach asked of him: they forced throws behind the LOS and expected the OL to block & they struggled.

I’m not concerned yet.Judging by college he’s solid after the catch. Not prime TO obviously, but he can break a tackle or make a guy miss. But even if you get him the ball on a screen, we don’t have good blocking receivers on the edge to give him a lane and the OL wasn’t picking up the LB/S coming up to meet him.

September 14Sep 14 Let Landon shadow retire with a phantom IR injury. Bench him with dignity, but do it quickly and don't wait on it.
