3 years in, some Herbert hype was fair. The early numbers he put up and his raw talent were impressive. Then he never won anything, never took it to the next level, and regressed, if anything. In some ways, I might take Dak and Romo over him. But they are the definition of QB purgatory. Too good to lose a job, not good enough to win anything.

Those first 3 years had a lot of promise. Being in the same division as Mahomes doesn't help trying to get into the playoffs either. He's come back to earth but he also has a badly managed team. Not every gets a Howie/Lurie. His bad year stats are still better than a lot of other QBs

And I don’t think Dak is a bad QB. I probably think higher of him than most just because he has historically played well against the Eagles and given them problems over the years. But people get too caught up in his stats.

I always thought the biggest fear being a fan of a team isn’t that you get stuck with a bad QB. That lasts a year and then you move on and draft, sign, or trade for a new one and it gives you hope. The scariest thing is having a guy who’s just good enough to get you to the playoffs but goes out in a blaze of glory every year. I’ve always called it the Andy Dalton Conundrum where he’s not great but just good enough, and that was him in Cinci.

And that’s what Dak has been for 10 years now. "Wasted” might be too strong of a term to characterize what Dallas has done keeping him for so long. But it’s the scary scenario where he’s not good enough to go deep with but not bad enough to move on.

Sorry I can’t help myself…y’all are awesome btw.

Misdirection for the sake of misdirection because the opponent is unaffected by it. I think Sirriani just does it because this is the culture he wants

I think he and Howie both like to troll the media.

I don't think Siri does. He's pretty genuine when he refuses to answer questions and flatly states its for competitive advantage. I think they take it to an extreme. It's also comical when his DC takes the podium and basically says "IDGAF I'd rather not talk to any of you, but if I have to I'm not going to hold back, lie, or sugar coat what I'm doing." Howie? I'm sure there's some trolling there.

You said reporters only see them stretch. So I wouldn't doubt some misdirection there just to make the opposing team not know what 5 OL they are going to see on Sunday. But I also think that every real practice rep needs to go to whomever they intend on starting at LG Sunday. Otherwise they will only hurt themselves.

EJ Smith said he thought they may use Kendall to make protection calls because they think he may be better than Jurgens. That's why they may consider moving him to center. I don't know why it all needs to be secret.

Hard to believe, considering their comparative experience.

I don't think it's Johnson because they just told you they are not going to show you their hand for competetive advantage. They like Kendall and he's next up. This is all about the future with this move. And you need to find out.

Absolutely. That doesn't mean they aren't experimenting if Kendall doesn't do well or gets hurt. I think they troll, but I'm not sure they'd waste limited reps before a game without it having some kind of a purpose.

I usually don't buy the hype on many of these OL backups. But this backup offensive line is the best I can remember in years. Yes, they are unproven, but you can just see they have the traits you are looking for, especially for an OZ scheme. I think this weekend we are gonna realize just how bad LD was and essentially a black hole at that position. It's not just about his bad individual play, but Mailata and Jurgens couldn't be themselves in compensating for that weakness. Threw the whole unit off.

It's not real reps. It was the stretch line and individual drills. Reporters don't see the team reps.

I have to believe Howie wants Kendall out there. He has 2 years left on his deal and they need to know if he can start next season

This is ridiculous. Jurgens hasn't played G since 2023 and then it was RG and he was very average. If Kendall can't do the job then you go to other alternatives.

Is he going to start breaking down now that he's paid? sad

Hate to say it...Carter got paid. He's done.

😂

Wouldn't surprise me if they played Fred Johnson at LG, they've done a lot of nonsensical things with personnel going back to last season.

Waiting for someone to update on what exactly happened to Carter's wrist. If it was broken I don't think he'd be playing.

Wait did he have a cast on just to screw with people?

Does anyone else remember Clay Matthews playing with a comically large cast that he essentially used as a club? Let's just let Carter do that.

I don’t seem to remember a lot of traditional 3-4 sets for that many snaps between the DT’s. Math ain’t mathing.

As long as he can't hurt it worse, good that he's playing. If he can, shame on the training staff. Don't want to Dickerson Carter

They played quite a lot of five-man fronts. The three DTs total 170 snaps. There were 70 defensive snaps. That works out to 30 3-man sets and 140 2-man snaps. Math.

One of his base moves is a club. Now he’s got a club to club with.

The eye opener is Jordan Davis only playing 49% of the snaps. Especially, with playing the 5 man fronts a bunch. He was gassed with playing less than half of the snaps. Dang!

Carter would 100% do that lol

Def didn’t seem like that much.
