September 17Sep 17 @Joe Ball Hello enemy/friend. 🤓🥰Sorry if I missed this information, but, what’s the "details” down in Big D on the loss to the NYG?
September 17Sep 17 Does anyone think the Titans are really concerned whether it will be Kendall at LG or Kendall at Center? Nick takes the competitive advantage thing a little far. 😂

As @vikas83 said, the hype was not merited. I will never understand the hype train for the DAL franchise and I am a fan, a big fan. Some folks are just fans of a team without really understanding all the factors that go into creating a successful franchise, and there is nothing wrong with being an average uneducated fan. Things like roster and coaching personnel management, management style, scouting, cap management, and team identity/personality/locker room traits among other things ultimately have significant impacts on the success of an organization. I believe fans like us (EMB) and similar, what I would call educated fans, can be rational. The average fan? Not so much, if their team isn't winning they are screaming for change without realizing everything at play. Trade this, sign this FA, fire this coach or coordinator. Those decisions are not that simple and have lasting effects.I am pissed that things didn't go better against NY defensively, but not to the point where I think CP can't do this job. Schotty showed last year he can put together a good offense. Yeh Jerry didn't F things up like he normally does this offseason, but the season isn't over. I will lose my f'ing mind if he doesn't give this staff a chance to get things right, give them a couple of years to overcome HIS previous mistakes that have put them where they are. Accountability exists across all levels of the organization. If he judged himself the way he has judged some of his previous employees he would have fired himself long ago.TLDR - The hype was/is not merited, the ownership still sucks, the defense needs a lot of work, average fans are irrational, and I still love DAL.Sorry for the rant. Be thankful you all have a legitimate franchise with great leadership.Another point - the Fangio system is dependent on excellent ILB play. We learned that the hard way in 2023 - Howie stuck to his I don't pay ILBs and let both 2022 starters (Edwards and White) walk. The bargain basement replacements couldn't do the job, and we dropped from 8th to 30th in points allowed. In 2024, we get Baun (better to be lucky than good), a healthy Dean and Burks - back to 7th in scoring defense. Yes, we also got the originator in Vic as opposed to inferior copies (Gannon and Desai). Dallas has Overshown, who can't stay on the field, Winters (backup in SF) and a whole lot of nothing at ILB.

A lot of folks don't realize how challenging bow hunting really is. 67 yds is a long bow shot. Congrats.

Sounds like he wss open on a couple of plays. Glad to see he is at least contributing and doing the dirty workThis is such silly hyperbole though. Blocking from a WR is icing on the cake. It's not the cake. A non-productive WR who is a willing and able blocker will get on the field over a similarly nonproductive WR who doesn't block. But they are still getting replaced as soon as a better receiver comes along.I'm speaking in generalities of course, not saying Lemon is about to be replaced. But the winning is all that matters is too much of a cop out to dismiss flaws. It's not an excuse to throw everything else out and just bask in a win. (Well, us fans can do whatever we wan't. That's the only perk of being the fan and not the professional. Complain about every win not being good enough. Proclaim they are winning the SB after every narrow win against a lousy team. We can do whatever we want.)

They scored on their last drive, were one score down when NY got the ball the last time to run out the clock. C’mon man. As crappy as they played they were still in the game, that’s not padding stats, that’s competing (or at least trying to) Forced four fumbles in the game, they could’ve forced another and scored on that last NY drive.I’m not saying they could’ve/should’ve won, I’m saying calling what he did stat padding is ridiculous.I mean, isn't that what he does every time he steps on the field. Rack up a lot of stats and not win anything important? Don't get me wrong, he's good but so far he hasn't proven to be a winner. Thankfully, he's got the excuse that the defense can't stop anyone. Until they manage to field a tolerable defense, they won't figure out he's good but can't get them to the promise land. There is the distinct possibility that he figures out how to become clutch but so far all he's shown is the capability to ish the bed.

"We still Dem Boyz" - whatever the hell that means. "It's still our year" - from the people going for second helpings of the Kool-AidHonestly I don't know, I just read a few outlets, I deleted FB a few years back because of politics, so I don't see people's uninformed opinions. I have seen a few folks wanting CP gone already, wanting a new CB, a new LB...the same 'ol crap every year, just a bit sooner this year 😁.I come here when I want to have legitimate football discussions and read/post funny memes with you folks. Too many people around DAL are just football buffoons wearing blue glasses.

Dallas defense ranked 7th, 5th and 5th, respectively, in points allowed from 2021-2023, and Dak went 1-3 in the playoffs and made the divisional round once. This notion that Dak has never had a good defense is ridiculous. He's had excellent defenses for most of his career - they fell off in 2024 (Dak was hurt) and collapsed in 2025.

September 17Sep 17 Just for fun, here's where Dallas' defenses ranked on PPG allowed basis since Dak came on the scene (playoff years in bold):2016 - 5th2017 - 13th2018 - 6th2019 - 11th2020 - 28th (Dak injured)2021 - 7th2022 - 5th2023 - 5th2024 - 21st (Dak injured)2025 - 32ndDak has NEVER made the playoffs without a top 7 scoring defense.But Jalen is carried by a super team...
September 17Sep 17 There were other Eagles 1st round WR picks that didn't do much their first game.Maclin didn't play (or did but didn't get targeted). 0 targets. His 2nd game: 2 catches for 12 yards. 3rd game: 4 catches for 33 yards. He had a breakout game his 4th game with 6 catches for 142 yards and 2 TDs.Smitty was instantly our best WR as a rookie next to the garbage they had. His first game he had 6 catches for 71 yards. But then his 2nd game only 2 catches for 16 yards, 3rd game 3 catches for 28 yards, then a breakout game in week 4 with 7 catches for 122 yards.Maybe Lemon will also break out in week 4.Agholor had 1 catch for 5 yards. Then 3 for 31, then 0...he was basically underwhelming his entire rookie year, not much better his 2nd. By his 3rd year (Super Bowl winning year) he had a total of 62 catches for 768 yards and 2 TDs.Looking at 2nd round WRs: DeSean Jackson was great right away with over 100 yards two games in a row. Jordan Matthews had 2 catches for 27 yards then 1 catch for 17 yards. We'll see with Lemon, too early to know one way or another. If he's a 4th option behind Smith, Wicks and Goedert and a rookie developing it may be a long runway of growth.
