I don’t understand that. It’s not like Jurgens is a stud LG or has even played LG at all. Kendall has taken more snaps there best I can tell. Would almost suggest there are phasing Jurgens out altogether

Personally, Id like to see Dickerson at center

Maybe the game Sunday isn’t the best example, but Dak has made a career being down 28-7 in the third quarter, the opposing defense takes their foot off the gas, and Dallas ends up losing 35-28 and the loss looks respectable. He’s an empty stat QB who you don’t want in a clutch situation. If I had to pick any QB who is the anti-Hurts QB it’s probably him. He’s the QB that everyone in the media wants Hurts to be: throw for 4000+ yards and 35+ TDs. Looks good in the stat sheet, but it’s not a winning formula because you take the first 2.5 quarters of the game off and crush your team with stupid decisions.

You’re not wrong.

Fred Johnson at LG. If true that seems like a dumb panic move since Kendall has taken almost all the reps there throughout camp. And if it's deception it's also dumb because the Titans game plan is not changing based on which backup LG we play this week

Wonder if cast on Carter wrist is due to ligament damage?

In Dak's defense (can't believe I'm saying that) he has won a lot of regular season games. But yes the stats are definitely pumped up in the exact way described.

Wonder if he sprained it on the FG block.

Well the cast on Carter isn't great.

I got it! Since we want to shuffle everything around on OL, I'm going Harper at LG & Bohm at Center. Done!

Fred Johnson at LG does feel like a troll from the Eagles Are you really going to put the #1 back Tackle in at LG?

The closed portion of practice presumably had a different look to it

And I don’t think Dak is a bad QB. I probably think higher of him than most just because he has historically played well against the Eagles and given them problems over the years. But people get too caught up in his stats.

I always thought the biggest fear being a fan of a team isn’t that you get stuck with a bad QB. That lasts a year and then you move on and draft, sign, or trade for a new one and it gives you hope. The scariest thing is having a guy who’s just good enough to get you to the playoffs but goes out in a blaze of glory every year. I’ve always called it the Andy Dalton Conundrum where he’s not great but just good enough, and that was him in Cinci.

And that’s what Dak has been for 10 years now. "Wasted” might be too strong of a term to characterize what Dallas has done keeping him for so long. But it’s the scary scenario where he’s not good enough to go deep with but not bad enough to move on.

How Nick thinks he has an advantage not naming a backup lineman a few days from the game.

It's gonna be a WWE style surprise.

Coming out of the tunnel at the last minute...

Interesting choice for Landon replacement...

Dak = Romo

They've been in the same situation for 20 years. Above average QBs, good enough to beat bad teams and get you to the playoffs, but then crap the bed in the postseason.

See Herbert, Justin as well.

Well, they've only played 5 road openers. But you get the point.

Don't understand why they have to play Carter 94% of the snap count last week. Of course, he's gonna run out of gas and get injured. They keep mishandling players in regards to injured players and overloading them. I'm sure Young/Robinson would be fine for 10 snaps a game.

I think it's hard to call it dumb without knowing what they know. See, us fans are left with this impression that Drew Kendall is some fantastic option at LG because all anyone did in training camp was hype him up. This is a nice reminder that this is a closed camp and the Eagles put out the narrative that the Eagles want to put out.

Fred Johnson has extensive experience on this OL, albeit not at that spot, but experience nonetheless. The fact that he's the first one to get a crack at the position tells you how utterly useless camp coach speak and media hype are. Kendall may be a horrible player or a future all-pro...I don't know. But the fact that he's still practicing with the 2's should tell you where you can stick all their training camp comments about him.

We hear about all this improved depth and the first guy off the bench is the same as last year.

Or...it's misdirection. Reporters only see them stretch, they don't see any of the team drills.

We'll know Sunday.

3 years in, some Herbert hype was fair. The early numbers he put up and his raw talent were impressive. Then he never won anything, never took it to the next level, and regressed, if anything. In some ways, I might take Dak and Romo over him. But they are the definition of QB purgatory. Too good to lose a job, not good enough to win anything.

Nick is also now, I believe, 15-2 over the past five seasons (counting week 1 this year) throughout the first four weeks of the season. It’s why when everyone freaks out about preseason they don’t understand that he may know what he’s doing.

Misdirection for the sake of misdirection because the opponent is unaffected by it. I think Sirriani just does it because this is the culture he wants

I hate it

Or it's just recognition that Johnson is now the top backup if they consider Lumpkin a center only in real games.

So they want him to get reps with the 1s in case another lineman goes down.

Actually, I'd have more confidence in Johnson at G than OT at this point in his career, though I'd rather see Kendall from a futures perspective.
