I feel like if Mannion proves to be a bad hire, the moment it should have been obvious was that orbit motion screen to Lemon. And then it was reinforced by that screen to Smith before the lucky QB sneak TD.

This right here. It was next-level stupid. People often imply fans can't criticize coaches because they're professionals making millions of dollars and we're just dumb fans watching from our couches, but sometimes a professional coach in the NFL can be really, really, mind-numbingly stupid in certain situations.

The Eagles offense was broken last year. They ran back basically the same offense this year except AJ Brown and Dotson for Wicks and Lemon. and Patullo for Mannion.

You go throughout history and you'll be hard pressed to find bad offense turned good in one offseason that make such minimal change. This was a deeply broken offense that won't just be fixed by hiring a new OC. It just doesn't work that way. I never thought the offense would be good this season and said as much all offseason. What's surprising me is how unimpressive the defense is.

The Eagles defense sucked so bad tonight that the Bears would have won with Dalton playing QB.

Mannion looked like a nervous out of his depth coach when they showed him in the box too. Very very concerning.

I didn't see it when Wentz got injured and I didn't see it when Hurts was turning the ball over like crazy in the Moore offense.

Unexpected, highly improbable things happen like Foles post season run, and Barkley going off for 2k. That year the defense also looked about this bad and suddenly clicked after the bye week.

Hard to ever give up again when you think of how little hope there was at a certain point in both of those super bowl seasons.

We can lose the next 2 games and still a things hopefully come together, make a run. The league really does suck. It won't take an elite team to win. Just have to get pretty good, and get a little lucky.

Yup. 2-3 was and is a very likely start. Then Panthers, Cowboys, at Commanders, Giants, Steelers, @ Cowboys, @ Cardinals, and Colts before we play Seattle. Those 7 teams have 9 wins between them. There is reason for hope.

Someone please explain to me why Saquon was red hot early in this game as well and we refused to ride the hot hand. God forbid we control the TOP and keep our struggling defense off the field as much as possible.

2 reasons.

  1. He stopped gaining yards on his runs.

  2. Because of that, the offense got behind the sticks and couldn't sustain drives so they got behind and had to pass more.

So if he wants more carries, he needs to remain consistent instead of deciding to suck.

The OL is the biggest issue on the offense.

I’ll let the experts break it down, but the OL was not bad tonight, they were at least average. A solid B game. Outside of smitty and Saquon, they were if the closest thing to a bright spot…though that’s not saying much. Average play is nothing to cheer about though. Hurts’ average time to throw has to be over 3.5 now and bottom of the league at this point.

The silver lining: Eagles will still casually stroll their way to a division title this year.

Kendall hasn't been bad at C. That's encouraging. But... that's about it.

I guess Smitty has been solid. Wicks has been decent with limited chances. Outside of that though they are a dumpster fire on offense, defense, and coaching.

Getting the 7 there covers up just how truly stupid that play call was. I'd go so far as to say that even if they scored a TD on that play, its STILL a bad play call, because you evaluate the process, not the outcome. Generally speaking, a "No, NO, NO - YES!" play is never a good process. That was a 'No, NO, NO! NO!!!!... huh? Ok, at least they got a TD."

Paying Jordan Davis is a big mistake. Jalen Carter makes a play every now and then Jordan Davis is really just taking up space at this point.

Saquon was tearing them up. They may have to l3an back on the running game to protect this defense. I dont know how the pass defnse got this bad so quick.

No they won’t. And if they do it’ll be with 8 wins max and a one and done playoff.

Well, I'm going to bed.

UGH!

The score was 13-7 halfway through the third quarter.

The offense had, what was it, three straight three and outs to start the second half?

THE OFFENSE IS THE PROBLEM.

No one is saying the offense isn’t a problem.

However, the defense could not get off the field in the first half either. The only time they did was after bigby’s fumble. They gave up 10 points. Bears only had 4 possessions in the first half. Really they only had three possessions where they had a long field to go (bigsby fumble was inside red zone). Guess what they only forced one punt. the bears went 66 yards for a touchdown. And went 69 yards and got a field goal. Heck the punt they forced they gave up 34 and it flipped field position. if you don’t count the end of the game where the Bears could’ve scored, the Bears scored on 5-8 possessions.

The analytical numbers, bear out the Eagles offense and defense both suck tonight. Pretending like the defense was good up until the end of the game is not true. They gave up 181 yards in the first half. To a 3rd striny quarterback down their left tackle. I would add their missed tackles was one of the worst performances of the season. They are currently ranked 31st in the league in this tackles. They have not been good.

1) I don’t think they will but maybe they do. 2) that isn’t a good thing because we aren’t contenders so we lose round one and get a pick in the 20s.

The OL was extremely inconsistent all night. And I wonder if the screens are Mannion's effort to take some pressure off the OL... but its not working, at all.

They had WRs running open. The problem is the qb wasn’t seeing them

Or they could not win a game until the Cardinals.

They’ll slide to 2-3, but their schedule gets very, very, very easy after that for a long time. They’ll be facing teams that may not even be trying very hard to win.

The line has issues, but let’s be honest. Saquon has not looked right since 2024.
