To be fair it's due to injury, not like he's healthy and has been a no show on the field for the past 3 weeks. He hurt his pec lifting this training camp.

If we’re gonna use his injury, he was injured last year. You’re dealing with a player that’s had injury/durability concerns in the past. This is part of the reason why I didn’t love that trade. you had to pay him, he was coming off an injury, he’s 29 and you had to give up draft capital for him. To me there were many red flags even with the potential upside he could give you

I thought Lemon looked good tonight. Was open a lot. Hurts missed him all night.

I'll have to watch the all-22 but Lemon seemed to be running open all night and Hurts would never look his way. Even on his INT, when he never saw Edwards blanketing Smitty, Lemon was wide open for a first down.

Look at his record. He's been to two super bowls, nearly won the first. Took Reid and Patty's heart just two years ago. Won the division last year. Lurie isn't making that move man, at least I don't think. We'd have to go 5 and 12 or worse for it to even come into play with Lurie I think.

The same arguments that apply for Hurts, apply for Siri and vice versa.

Its not always going to be pretty but hard to argue with the results they have produced.

There is the two SB appearances, playoffs every single year and a general level of winning that is amongst all-timer levels.

But mixed in with that we have get lots of frustrating play / heart-attack inducing games, boneheaded decisions and plays, and looking flat / totally outmatched in any playoff game in a season where they aren't making a SB run....

That is the Siri / Hurts rollercoaster

Campbell’s specs were really intriguing for an edge rusher. First round prototype. And for an off ball LB? Off the charts.

They’ve tried it a bit as an edge and he wasn’t any good with those reps. As an off ball LB, he excels tracking down the back end of plays sideline to sideline with his speed. But hes generally poor in coverage and he sucks filling gaps in the running game due to delayed instincts and first step.

Odd that he’s still out there because that’s pretty much the epitome of what Vic hates in a player.

Trotter is supposed to be the inverse of all of that.

Agreed. The best he’s looked so far.

We are 2-1. Season is over. Only in the Illadelph. Long long long way to go.

The season isn't over, but this was one of those typical unexplained gut punches. The first half gave me so much hope for the offense the way they were running and how even Cam was blocking. Hurts looked like an MVP and even though the defense was horrific things were looking up. I never thought I'd be more optimistic about the offense than that D loaded with talent but here we are.

Vic needs to play Trott. Campbell looks lost and so does Mukuba. Absolutely lost. Epps sucks and Cooper needs to sit a few weeks, which he can't because they don't have the depth.

Depends on the person. For a lot of people here including myself, the issues we've seen through 3 weeks are all issues we were concerned about before the season. I picked the Eagles to miss the playoffs before the season and the reasons I listed have all come home to roost so far. Really except Hurts' play(sans the 2nd half tonight). But everything else has been an issue

-Hiring an OC with no experience who in my mind has been totally underwhelming as a play caller

-Sirianni being awful 2 out of the last 3 seasons and had no confidence in him managing games and making decisions after how truly awful he was last season.

-Losing Stoutland

-Offensive line

-TE depth

-Safeties

-Edge depth

This is just affirming what people already believed more than it is overreaction. It would be overreaction for someone who predicted 13 wins and is now predicting 8. But I was torn between 8 and 9 wins all offseason. I was very down on this team.

It’s not that I refuse to give Lemon credit, but I sense this was more an issue of the Bears leaving the middle of the field wide open because they figured out Hurts wasn’t seeing it or using it…and just letting Lemon run free…more so than him just torching defenders.

In fairness to Hurts, it’s pretty damn tough to use the middle of the field when yoh are a 6’ QB with zero trust in your interior OL.

Not over, but holy crap that defense has issues that are alarming for a squad playing in the same system.

Fangio and kellen moore took reid and Patty's hearts. Sirianni has ridden the coattails of steichen and Moore, when he's chosen his OCs the team has been hot garbage. He's an absolute buffoon and completely useless, and either has no real control over this team or he's got no sack because he let the team flounder last year with 2 injured dudes on the line while he sat there and did nothing.

The biggest question mark coming into the season was at safety so it’s not a surprise that it’s been a disaster so far. The Mukuba pick is not looking good and Epps was never a reliable option. I’m assuming that’s something they’ll look to address via trade but I just get Byard 2023 vibes all over again.

The offense is still too predicated on formulaic plays and inching their way down the field. What’s weird is they’re very capable of getting chunk plays like they did against Tennessee last week in the two minute drive and the drive before half tonight. Everything else is just 3-4 yards at a time where one penalty or negative play kills the drive. The Lemon screen plays and anything behind the line to him has been a colossal failure. But the good news is he gets open downfield. There are opportunities to utilize him better than making him Jayden Reed here like the Packers do.

They hired an OC with no experience because no one with an experience wanted the job. That should tell us something right there.

I don’t think they’d make the move either. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t do it like I said it is gonna be very hard for mannion in his first year as OC, implementing an entirely new offense and just starting to do playcalling. That’s a lot of responsibility on his plate for a first time first year OC. basically you’ve made it we want to do mannion’s offense, but that’s not Sirianni’s background isn’t in that scheme or system. That’s a lot on mannion

The defense WILL settle down and control the hemorrhaging. They have earned both our emotional and objective confidence that they can do that.

BUT…will they do so to the point that we can count on them as an elite unit that carries the team somewhere we want them to go?

Absolutely not. Not this year.

Even when the Eagles offense looks good and sustains drives it doesn't look easy. Going back to last year and even a lot of 2024, when Barkley wasn't running all over teams in 2024, here's what a successful Eagles scoring drive usually looks like on their successful plays

Barkley for 4 years

Contested catch to Devonta for 5 yards

Tush push first down

Hurts scrambles for 3 yards. Contested catch Devonta for 5 yards.

Spring Devonta open for 8 yards

Barkley for 3 yards

Goedert for 5 yards

Etc... you get it.

When is the last time we saw an Eagles offense rip off chunk plays like we saw the Bears do tonight? 15 yards, 20 yards, 40 yards, boom boom boom. Just gashing teams. This offense even when it's working looks so slow, so plodding, so clunky, so constrained, so one small mistake away from derailing the whole thing. Every Fing game is like on a razor's edge and walking a tight rope. It's so Fing hard to watch and I'm so jealous of other teams. Just so bored watching this damn offense and it doesn't seem to matter what the system is. I crave an offense that just just absolutely torch a defense with chunk plays and guys running wide open. It's been so long.

The talent is mostly there, except at safety. Can replace Campbell with Trotter. The defensive line has too much talent to look this bad. This game got away and they literally beat themselves. Dalton started the spiraling and it just went in the toilet from there. Bears are just a bad match-up for us. From a coaching standpoint as well. Gotta flush it and go beat the Rams.

Well Patullo is gone and there is a new OC. There’s one common denominator.
