Vic is also drinking during the Phillies games

I love Vic but DeJean definitely needs to move to safety. Maybe he could also help Mukuba in his development playing side by side and communicating better. Ideally I’d like to see DeJean and Mukuba at safety with Kenny Moore in the slot and Baun and Trot at LB

They were torn between the mauler from Minnesota and the nimble Pieper… so am I, as I still haven’t gotten a line on what the archetype for guard is in this offense. If you asked me 6 months ago, I was much more confident that the lighter ZBS player would get the nod.

imo, its now good feet but not necessarily great athleticism. They can be big maulers as long as they have typewriter feet. They dont have to run like Jason Kelce or Lane Johnson, as long as they have quick feet. OL coach Cooper is a feet guy.

Since this was just a walkthrough and an estimation, I hope most of the injuries were gamesmanship. Not feeling great about Baun though if he’s In the protocol.

Especially on a short week. That could be good news for Trotter, though. If he can play well, maybe he could unseat Campbell when Baun returns while Campbell continues to learn.

Bell has good feet for his size, but I’m still surprised they didn’t go with Iheanarchor given his athletic profile (including good feet). In any case, feet require a bit more work to research as a 10yd split and 3 cone combination isn’t a reliable filter.

They aren’t gonna move DeJean to safety. I don’t get why people want this. Slot CB is super important in Fangio’s defense and if they move him to safety someone still has to play slot corner. And it’s going to be someone who sucks at it. It’s where DeJean is best.

Combine positional drills will become more important for us than combine athletic tests.

I didnt have their type right for this draft, but one guy I did hit on was Jaeden Roberts who they signed as a UDFA.

I should be better this year.

To me when they said they tried to bring him back and reports they wanted him back even with the system/blocking scheme change and he didn’t want too feels like there’s some hard feelings on his end.

The sense I have is that while I think he does have some hard feelings about having the run game responsibilities taken away last year.

With a change of scheme, Eagles were never going to offer him back those responsibilities and I'd guess won't get them back if we were going to still be running a wide zone scheme next year under a new coach. But the Eagles brass does love the guy as they should. He is a legendary OL coach and they were prepared to roll with him being able to pick up teaching the new blocking techniques for the new scheme as the OL coach (likely would have been with some experienced in wide-zone under him as the assistant).

That's not appealing to Stout - he seems to have pretty entrenched views about gap/power superiority as the best scheme for getting most out of OL. He is a direct disciple of Art DeLeone's who is the godfather of that. There are videos out there of Stout talking about his love for Art, the scheme he designed, how it needs to be taught etc...

Now if the Eagles go down the road of a non-pure wide zone guy or even a hybrid dude ala someone form the Reid / Payton / Ben Johnson tree, or even someone who has done a ton of work with the Harbaugh or Vrabel, then yeah I agree - Stout is back 100%. Declan Doyle is the obvious name that comes to mind, or a Charlie Wise Jnr under a defence-first HC as don't think he is ready to step up to HC in NFL. I also used to have Joe Brady on this list but he has his HC gig now. There will be other guys who emerge over the course of the year.

They can get a CB but Howie can't get a S or OG? Damn

Supposedly the main piece is a 2nd round pick
