Is he though? He’s not had a great NFL career to this point but he’s not had a competent QB either.

Yes

If i remember correctly some of the analytics pointed to him being really poor in creating separation since coming into the league.

And that could be a heart/drive issue. He was 2 time unanimous all-American and was the Big 10 player of the year in 23. It’s hard to believe his game wouldn’t translate to the league when most OSU WRs see a lot of success.

This chart doesn’t speak highly of Devonta Smith. Then again, I have a hard timing buying that a 33 year old Mike Evans is the best wr in the nfl at getting open.

I was told by someone out here who used to cover the team and moved to the dbacks beat, he wasn’t happy he was drafted by the Cardinals. Was always the likeliest spot considering the top 3 teams in that draft needed a Qb

Evans also played against cardinals and dolphins. While also facing the broncos who lost their two starting corners in the game last week.

I made the decision not to go to the game tomorrow. Ticket prices were ridiculous. And whilst I can afford it and my partner offered to buy me a ticket I decided not to go. I’ve really fallen back on this team over the last several months. During the offseason I just couldn’t get in to things and didn’t get that excitement for our Birds to get back out there. But looking at the clips of the fans out there I am regretting not being involved.

I’ll get excited about the MHJ trade due to his name and hype if the eagles got him for a cheap price.

If the eagles got him for an exaggerated price (or if some other team got him), I’ll just reference how awful he’s been.

Can I just ask… Why are so many very confident it’s Philly he’s being traded to?

I don't think anyone thinks he's coming here

Very intrigued by Mestemaker

Do they not? Okay I just see a lot of talk about it and whether it would be a good move for us and whether people would be excited by it.

Bro they're 2-2, have made the playoffs every year under Siri, a recent championship. Giving up on the team is bandwagon mentality.

Eagles fans suffered long droughts in the past. Since Lurie bought the team they've been consistently winning and competitive, and won 2 championships with different coaches & mostly different players.

You're acting like they're the Jets.

As a Buckeye fan he was one of my favs. Would love to have him but would rather trade some of the picks we have to move up and grab J Smith if we’re making deals

AI does not list the Eagles

Out of curiosity, do you have a sense of why ticket prices were ridiculous? UK interest or Americans traveling for the game? I still don’t understand the strength of the appetite for our football across the pond.

Part of the issue with dealing for MHJ is at the end of the year, you either have to pick up a 5th year option which is gonna be pricey as he was the fourth overall pick or you let him play out his fourth year hoping that he turns it on but same time then overpaying as didn’t utilize the option. Get about 12 games this year to decided that in an offense he’s being thrown into midseason. Tbh wouldn’t touch him for a 2nd. Even a 3rd i wouldn’t. Would have to be conditions met in his performance to do so

I’m really not bud.

Giving up on them given the issues we’ve seen so far this year that follow the issues they had last year. Given the awful performances they put in so much of last year. Given the problems that we all saw coming in to the season.

I think looking at the record and thinking they can still be okay is wishful thinking. The OL was a bit of a concern coming in to the season based on how banged up there might be. But this isn’t a bit of a concern anymore it’s the reality. This OL is bad and for this season I think the best case is for them to become average.

I still love this team and I’m still an Eagles diehard fan. I just don’t like where they are at and to be honest I’m ready for Sirianni to go.

I’m part of a huge Eagles group in the UK called PSI. There’s a good couple of hundred diehards in that group so the Eagles are big over here. But no idea why tickets were so much. I mean it’s pretty normal now.

About 10 years ago tickets were like £80-120. For all 3 games you could get a season ticket for £200. Tickets now though are easily £250+ to be right up at the top. It just isn’t worth it. Not when you think there’s the travel there. The food and the drink. The hotel if you want to make an event of it. I priced it up and it was only going to cost me about £200-300 more to travel to Philly to a game.

Why would the eagles trade for another receiver who won't get the ball? Would be a terrible use of resources for a team that isn't doing anything this season

I think it’s too early to give up on them. I think we will know a lot about the Eagles by the time we get to the end of that Dallas game on Monday night three weeks from now. If they are 2-5 then we need to seriously have the discussion about trading guys at the deadline. They might be able to turn around at that point and win the division because the division is not very good but really you might be just better off selling guys and having a higher draft pick to infuse more talent into this roster. If they can get through that Dallas game and be 4-3 they have a chance to right themselves and go on a little bit of a run before the bye week with commanders and giants on the schedule. 3-4 is tough especially if one of the two losses is Dallas. It basically would mean you would have to go to Dallas and beat them so they don’t hold the tiebreaker against you for the division. And the eagles have not been great playing in Dallas

The number I had in my head was a 5th, tbh.

4th is probably about right for a team that can surround him with the right situation, which likely isn't us.
