That was about to be a great gutsy team victory, with the potential post game narrative being Hurts came thru in the clutch with a bunch of slugs on offense. Unfortunately, it was an infuriating ending that you could feel the whole game coming.

For the most part the Eagles have been lucky with the injury bug. Cam and Landon probably came back sooner then they should have

2020 was the last time we’ve had such a massive pile like we have now. The years in between were all fortunate years injury wise.

Talk about lowering the bar

No, that's who he is and they have been to two SBs with him. There is a formula out there to use him and they aren't. So is that on him or them for trying stuff that either sucks or doesn't fit him? His limitations and flaws haven't changed.

Not only do they not kick it out of the end zone at the end there, but Jake kicks a low-lining piss missile allowing Abdullah to catch the ball in stride and hit full speed within one step. Just malpractice.

Again, that's not who he is. He's not Foles or Keenum who will have the ball out before they break.

Yes. I said that though. I said it's a very hard answer in that scenario.

But again, if we take that as unfixable as you say, that means Hurts will only be successful with a top flight line, and he doesn't have one, so...

I mean. What is anyone supposed to do about that? Toss the year? Sit him?

Not the first time we’ve lost a game in the end.

Another constant has been Sirianni. Same argument can be made that he’s injecting his influence into the play calls.

I've said this before, but - emotions aside - which do you suspect is more likely?

Lurie allowing Sirianni to continually call his offense when it clearly isn't working, they have to keep shuffling OCs, etc

Or

We run the same offense regardless of the OC because the QB we gave a fat contract to and haven't been able to move off from yet is comfortable with it?

Anyone saying to lose on purpose has never won anything or probably even accomplished anything of significance in your life. You always play to win. Pu$$ie$

But when the formula is to have an outstanding O-Line and they don't have one....what do you do? Does that mean Howie comes into consideration here?

Sure. No team has ever given up a catch to the sideline in an obvious situation.

Sure no team has never failed in that situation really do you wanna look at the odds of? Many teams, failing that situation versus how many teams actually convert.

That may have had a 1% probability. Only the Eagles.

Who knows? Maybe it’s a mix of both. They’ve got to give Nick some autonomy, and same goes for Hurts.

That's exactly what it means. You have to have a good OL and a good system/coordinator. If you don't then you get this. The difference is if you build that around him he can win while big names never get crap done and always have excuses as well.

I mean. Lurie pretty much fired Doug for the former, so...

How about the other side? How many teams have gotten the return at the end of the game to set up a FG on the final play?

Nope. You still sound dumb, overall though. If its shtick, good for you, you pulled it off!

Possible. I don't believe it is the case, but it could be. I suspect that's why if things continue as they are, Nick will be gone after the season and Hurts, barring a drastic turnaround, the season after.

I feel bad for the defense, they’re giving it their all and the offense is just not NFL material. They give them no chance they’re going to be outgained in yardage every game. They e scored 3 second half points the last 3 games. And we’re only on this game because Coen kept passing up field goals.

I feel for the defense. Coen continuously going for it really helped keep us in the game. If he kicks fgs that game is likely a touchdown game. He left 6 points just not kicking field goals. I get we’re down long snapper but they would’ve had kicks form 18, 22. Furthermore, with the Eagles down as many players as they are on offense, and you know the struggles that they have in the second half taking the points makes way more sense. This isn’t like you’re playing the Rams and you know that that offense is gonna get going and put up points on the board. The Eagles are just not. So taking away six points is kind of stupid. I think the analytics at least for the end of the half says to take the points

Well....

If that's the logic, then the team was screwed from the offseason because Howie built the team wrong?

Fire ST coordinator and Sirianni.

Burn it down.

I love how Siriannis calling card has become putting his weakest units in the highest leverage situations.

I think Mitchell will start getting more picks after that one

Carter finally makes an impact with his cast. So I guess he's healed enough to make a difference? He balled out. I was honestly worried

Wtf has happened to Davis? Is his cardio go to crap again? Is he only going to show up in the 2nd half of the season every year?

Baun played great. That one tackle he just launched like a missile to take him out

Cooper was great

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Good call coach👏

It’s a tough situation. Hard to bench him. The OL will improve and Mannion will need to mix in some max protection as well. Best to stay conservative and try to win with the D. Easily could have won the last two that way.
