Just now, eagle45 said:you may be right, but there’s also a reason the discussion keeps coming back to him. He’s the centerpiece of arguably the nfls worst offense. Siri is probably going to get fired. And the future of Hurts, in many ways, needs to be determined this offseason. It impacts their ability to recruit a head coach, draft approach, and cap approach. They need to make a decision on whether or not to extend him in the offseason.Hurts is the centerpiece of the decision. And that’s just how it is with a qb. You may not be the biggest problem, but if you’re not part of the solution going forward you’re the most important problem.I've never said Hurts isn't a problem but he's way down the list. Just now, LeanMeanGM said:It’s not who he is. Let’s cheer for mediocrity. Can you win with Hurts? Yes. Can you win with Josh or Joe? Past excuses not yet. The reason I've defended him is you have to know how to use him correctly or that's what you get. You have to give him a good OL or that's what you get. As for this season Nick has done a horrible job. I can't get to Hurts until I deal with that. There is no run game because the OL is such crap. Defenses can focus on putting pressure on Hurts and that's it. Has that changed in all the years he has been here? I see his limitations, but I can't get pissed because there are so many other things ahead of it.

So you’re asking guys to do things they don’t normally do or very exhausted as they have new roles in the highest pressure momentSecond, the NFL changed the rule for kickoff because they wanted more dynamic kickoffs and less concussions. If i remember correctly the analytics have shown there’s been more returns and more quality returns since the rule change than the previous 3 years prior to the inception of the new kickoff rule.Third, I am far more comfortable with my defense, knowing they have to play the boundaries and not give up 15 to 20 yards. if the jags had a timeout my thinking is very different. The Jaguars with 8 seconds and no timeouts have to be perfect. If the Jaguars complete a pass and the guy doesn’t get out bounce clock runs out. Eagles get a sack game is over. On first down if it’s incomplete, they only have enough time for one more play and the game is gonna be over.Fourth, the Jaguars offense had more self destruct moments today. So it’s not a given they don’t screw up in those final 8.Fifth, even if the Jaguars got 15 yards and out of bounds with time remaining. They would have to make a 67 yard field goal. I’m fine with them kicking a 70ish yard field goal down their long snapper and winning the game. I tipped my cap to them to be that perfect in that scenario for that to happen. You forgot the 6th reason:You aren't a blithering Fing idiot
October 11Oct 11 Where’s Stowers? Can he not come off IR yet? He can’t do any worse than what we’ve been putting out there at TE. At least he is a viable threat in the passing game
October 11Oct 11 Sirianni has had some insane highs during his time here. He's had to navigate through multiple OCs, but has still -regardless of how you feel about him- shown he's capable of winning a SB, has a high winning percentage and has made the playoffs every season. Despite all of that, he makes some absolutely baffling decisions, puts the team in horrible situations, is extremely limited and needs to go.This has become acceptable across the board, for the most part. Now go ahead and replace the name Sirianni with Hurts and it rings just as true. Wake up.
October 11Oct 11 Just caught up on the game. Congrats to all the microdicks - you have another week to gloat and blame Hurts for everything.Offensive coaching and O-line has been and remains the #1 issue.

If the Eagles and Jalen Hurts can’t adapt their game to counter that, they aren’t that good. And deserve to be criticized.
October 11Oct 11 If Mannion is back next season, top priority might be TE with all the 12 and 13 personnel he’s running with scrubs. Goedert definitely makes a positive difference though

Not their faultWell, again, go down the list. NickInjuries Bad OL and no run gameSystem that is crap or at the very least not putting Hurts in a position to succeed QB who has had the same limitations when he feels pressure and stops seeing the field How have they been to two SBs with him? How have Joe, Jackson, and Josh thrown as many TDs in a SB as Trey in 2018? The Eagles gave him a good OL which negates his inability to handle pressure. They don't have that now. Even with those issues they'd have two wins if Nick could make basic decisions.

Mundt, Goedert and ej jenkins. Jenkins shouldn’t even be on a nfl roster. Mundt isn’t a pass catching te.

The line wasnt amazing today but they definitely played well enough in pass pro

October 11Oct 11 21 minutes ago, Diehardfan said:That's exactly what it means. You have to have a good OL and a good system/coordinator. If you don't then you get this. The difference is if you build that around him he can win while big names never get crap done and always have excuses as well.So you gotta be the 2012/2013 Ravens? All world defense and (barely) good enough offense?

We have talented WRs dying on the vine for condensed sets that put a ton of bodies at the LOS, exactly where we don't want them
October 11Oct 11 Jalen Hurts leads the offense that is dead last in second half scoring. That is before todays game. That 5 second half PPG is now 4.6. That 3.3 second half PPG over the last 3 weeks, becomes 1 second half PPG after today.

They struggled when Jags brought the heat and didn't have an answer
October 11Oct 11 Did not the team have a lead in both games and have a 97% chance to win both games with late 4th Q leads? With a preseason roster on offense. I just want to get the facts straight. Let's blame 1 person. That is pretty unreasonable to think the QB lost both games, when other parts of the team choked the leads. Again, I'm not saying Hurts played well. He did not. But given the circumstances did just enough. And other factors took over to lose games.
