I think my stance is more that well...

Hurts is getting a chance to show what he can or can't do out of a Nick system, but Nick hasn't ever gotten any chance to show what his offense tree can do outside of Hurts at QB. And I just don't really think not throwing on time does that offense any favors. Relying on people getting wide ass open in the NFL is just not a recipe for success.

Wow. Ok.

Hot take, I actually liked what I saw the offense try to do. They had a plan for the blitz and it felt like Hurts was getting the ball out quicker today. It was great to see Darius Cooper come up big again and Lemon finally got targets showing how he can play in traffic over the middle. Goedert getting back was big. There is so much going on, it’s hard for this offense to get into any kind of rhythm.

Did they have the personnel to execute the game plan? F no. You have 2 guys starting on the OL that were on the practice squad last year, a 3rd round rookie, and Fing Fred Johnson playing guard. Mailata better make peace with whatever demons are out there because his healthy days seem numbered. Dameon Pierce looked like he had bricks for shoes after Shipley went out. There was virtually zero run game today. I think they had 7 total rushing yards in the 2nd half.

That game definitely wasn’t pretty, but they had an opportunity to win it.

Again, the eagles analytics department are gonna tell him the analytics say to go for it. I am guessing when he is making that decision, he has somebody in his ear telling him the analytics say to do this. Cause that’s what Jeffrey Lurie wants as an organization.

You can’t change from being an analytical base team to being like oh we’re not gonna use it now because we have injuries. If that was the case, Doug should’ve never done it when he lost his left tackle in Peters and he had his backup Qb in there replace wentz who was fantastic on 3rd down that year. But he didn’t. That’s because the organization wants it to be that way.

Now if you don’t wanna be an analytic organization, that’s a whole entire entirely different argument. But that’s how the Eagles are. So we can have the same discussion every week, but really this goes far beyond sirianni and goes to the crutch of what the organization wants

You can be process driven and have the ability to make intelligent exceptions. The best companies in the world work that way. If you want to blame the owner for those calls then ok. Either way they were CLEARLY the wrong calls.

100%. Analytics are a tool. Nothing more.

Him and Trey both have. But you are right that all of them have never had what it takes to make it there or win one.

Trey wasn't a QB.

Bit like our HC… He’s a tool too.

Jalen basically hung Sirianni out to dry. They’ve had previous so I don’t think we’ve heard the lay of this.

Our kickoff coverage has been soft as ish all year. I don't know if the stats back that up, but they're hard to have any faith in. Just an unreal loss.

And that's the point my guy. A non QB has as many passing TDs as all of them combined.

Need to tell the offense that

Offense wasn't good. But understandably with backups everywhere. But they had more points on the board with 8 seconds left. And the week before with a 10 point lead and 7 minutes left. How about if the defense makes an impact play in either game when it matters? Nope. They wilted. Or the special teams can tackle someone maybe?? The big money on the team is now on the defense. Coming up kinda small this year.

Nick can figure that out somewhere else. His act has grown old here. Good riddance

I’m not blaming anybody. I understand why they do it and it’s based of an organizational approach. they’re not gonna organizationally change what they believe in. Based off what you guys are saying is Doug shouldn’t have done it when foles took over for Carson Wentz especially when he looks bad the first couple weeks after taking over and when Jason peters got hurt and they had a backup left tackle in there. But they didn’t.

Their philosophical approach is to use the analytics because they believe it gives them the best chance to win. You can argue against that, but that’s what they believe.

Pierce was laughably bad. No burst, no push, no hands. Steele was active right?

It was like that with starters

Hurts had Goedert wide open in the middle of the field on that Lemon play. Hurts didn't even look at him. Now Lemon shouldn't have gone OOB, but still.

That's the thing about Hurts. Was he terrible today? No. He wasn't terrible. But the bar has so been lowered because the offense has been so awful that the QB just doing just enough to maybe barely win and not being awful is considered progress.

That is what it has come to. We are the Eagles, not the Jets. It's unacceptable that the bar even has to be lowered that much.

I just mentioned it felt like Hurts got the ball out quicker today, and the data shows that. I think the offense is coming along, it's just progressing at the slowest pace possible with all the shuffling and injuries going on.

Yeah, Steele was signed to the 53 and was active as far as I know. I don't know who else they even have at this point. Will be interested in the snap counts when they come out.

Steele was in on ST’s.

You’re missing the entire point. The approach is flawed. That’s either the fault of the owner, GM, and/or HC. A sound strategy would make consideration for intelligent exceptions overriding the pure numbers play when the situation clearly calls for it. I really don’t care where the fault lies but I would like it fixed.

All I'm saying this whole team is a bunch of nothing right now across the board. Leaky faucets everywhere. QB is one position out of 22 positions. They are poor in several places. Acknowledge that. This is not some juggernaut. And have a bad coach who can't compensate for anything.

Huh? The D made play after play today including stopping the Jags on a 3 and out under 2 mins to setup Hurts to drive for what looked like the game winning fg.

Honestly the analytics aren’t good enough as they can only account for pure numbers. Nothing about weather, momentum, injuries, and a host of other situational parameters.

Correct, and I think anyone with over reliance on AI is going to have a similar result.

As I said last week, the whole thing is dysfunctional…..and it starts upstream with a worthless HC that can’t call the offense.

His only saving grace before was "he just wins”. So, it appeared that he had some sort of genius to his methods, but he actually just had great players that bailed him out of his own stupidity.

Now, with a little less talent on the roster, and some injuries to add….we’re seeing that he never was a good coach.

You were unaware? The connection is Zac Taylor from McVay, who then went to Cincinatti. That's the origin of Mannion's offense. He literally was brought here exclusively because of his connection to Mannion's scheme tree.

Also, this has nothing to do with Hurts, we're just talking about McKee, quit the strawmanning.

Also yeah, your memory sucks.

*Until the Offensive Line came in to tell Sirianni to push Moore to run the ball instead of using his fancy passing stuff with Jalen Hurts (like Moore did everywhere else). Nice try though.

Good sidestep of the absolute drubbing you received later on in the post. I wouldn't address it either if I was you. LOL

The drubbing?? You mean where you literally proved my point that Nick was floundering and bringing the entire team down because he had no answers, and had to be bailed out by everyone around him making the decisions on offense.

Yeah you really seared me on that one. You totally proved that Nick isnt wholly incompetent.
