I'm glad we don't have to pretend Sirianni is a good coach just because the team made the playoffs under him for much longer. He brings nothing to the table shematically. He's basically a hired motivational speaker.

"They made the playoffs every season under him and won Super Bowls, he's good" when the reality should be "Howie Roseman is so good at his job he won Super Bowls with Doug Pederson, Nick Sirianni, Nick Foles, Jalen Hurts"

I predicted, verbatim, before the season started, that the defensive narrative for Hurts would shift that it’s unfair to judge him based on the poor surrounding talent.

And maybe it is unfair. But the nfl is unfair. Judge him based on 2025 then. Or 2024. Or 2023.

They have to judge him based on something when deciding what to do with his contract.

I wanna see this "poor surrounding talent" actually be healthy and play a game together before I conclude anything. Will see if that takes place. Regardless , I'm not sold on this defense (middle of the pack currently) ...or special teams for that matter...😅

Right. But we didn't know that the 3% chance of Jags winning would happen. Or did we? EOD special teams just has to do okay there and not choke and give up a big play. I still can't believe that happened. Once every 30 years maybe.

It doesn’t matter what percentage chance the jags would’ve had. You’d never had to give the ball back to them with better clock management. It would’ve come down to Elliott making or missing the kick. It eliminates another possession by the jags.

By throwing an incomplete pass on first down, you helped the jags stop the clock, which is the Jaguars want you to do because they know they want sometime to at least have a shot at a FG with new kickoff rules. If you run the ball on first down, the Jaguars are gonna call timeout. Now you have everything at your disposable for second and third down. Second down, you can throw the ball and if it’s incomplete then third down you just run it, call an timeout with 3 seconds remaining and kick a long field goal. If it’s complete and stay in bounds then call timeout with 3 seconds. If complete and out of bounds then just have hurts sneak it forward on 3rd and then call timeout with 3 seconds left.

Also forgotten in this, lemon didn’t have to go out of bounds. If lemon stays in bounds the eagle still have a timeout. They could’ve let that clock drain all the way down to like 3-4 seconds and kick a field goal as time expired.

But the reality is, they had poor Clock management that also led to that kickoff.

*Because the 3rd string QB actually got rid of the ball on time.

I feel like that...just kind of reinforces the point honestly.

We'd all love to have Foles from the SB in there, but again, that's not who he is. At some point in a relationship you have to realize your woman isn't going to suddenly start break down Amazon boxes, be ready on time, or fill up the tank before it's bouncing on E. If you expect them to be something they aren't then you should find someone else but the grass isn't always greener. Lots of good QBs haven't won crap for a reason.

He has flaws he plays like crap especially under pressure. Even when he has time he misses people when he doesn't trust the OL or the system. I don't think it's coincidence when Nick isn't involved in the offense (even with good OL) it suddenly looks better and Hurts plays better.

Him and Trey both have. But you are right that all of them have never had what it takes to make it there or win one.

No. I agree. Bad game manager there. But ultimately also bad special teams execution there.

So when the offense is good, it’s someone else. When the offense is bad, it’s Hurts. Just wanted to confirm.

Your micropeen is showing ;)

Or read what I wrote and stop projecting your own shortcomings. No wonder you like Hurts. He too, has several.

Mmmmmm, I'm detecting low IQ. He got demoted because they were learning a brand new offense and backups get less reps (which hurt learning it), but you can believe whatever helps you sleep at night.

Lol so they had to demote McKee in favor of Dalton, who somehow knew Mannions offense, just so McKee would get less snaps to learn the offense?

This doesn't make any sense at all, especially when you consider McKee has no realistic shot at ever becoming a starter anywhere

You guys twisting yourselves into knots to defend the meathead---who just admitted to blowing s another game---and rage on Hurts is laughable.

This guy was headed for an unceremonious firing until the offensive line had to tell him to go sit in the corner and let Kellen Moore run the offense. He brings nothing to the table, they're just waiting on the right time to can him.

But Sirianni showed he could win a Superbowl

Lemon not going down inbounds on his catch on 2nd down was lowkey a huge moment. Jaguars are then able to save their final timeout for the 3rd down run to even give them time for a kick return instead of the Eagles being able to run that clock down until a few seconds before they attempted the FG.

Sure. But also … kick the ball away from returners and play 9 man sideline defense for 1-2 plays to make sure nothing goes out of bounds or into the endzone.

That's just because people automatically assume, without proof, that any year Jalen does anything, Nick doesn't do anything. The biggest example is 2022, pretty much everyone assumes he did literally nothing that year without proof. And then they forget that Jalen wasn't good a throwing the ball for most of 2024 either.

I mean to be honest, the only year he HAS looked good as a passer was 2022, and no one has any proof Nick was uninvolved that year in the first place.

Stop asking Nick to use his brain. It's just not who he is.

EOD, this defense isn't winning you a championship. That's the first thing I'm looking into when I'm looking at this squad's chances of a Superbowl. Carter just showed up today. Davis is invisible and doesn't play. Got problems at edge. LB and 2 safety positions. And the coach to boot. 🤣 Can still win the division and be tortured. Those last 2 losses will age you. Can't imagine how it felt to be at that game with that Eagles crowd prolly out of their minds, thinking you have it won...But no...

How about judging the entire offense including the coaching staff none of it is good enough right now

And yet they’ll all be gone and Hurts will still be here 2 years from now. Here 5 years ago. Here 2 years from now. And people will still be reaching for other reasons why the offense looks the same, blaming coaches that aren’t even here yet.

2020 was the last time we’ve had such a massive pile like we have now. The years in between were all fortunate years injury wise.

Yea. Can only be lucky for so long. Guys get old and the wear and tear catch up

The issue to me is if sirianni is going to be a CEO head coach you cannot have that type of blunder with your clock management and you cannot have the blunder of the kickoff. Those are two things as a CEO coach that are on him.

We know Nick, and it doesn’t make anyone (especially the players) feel any better.

I’d be shocked if this didn’t lose the locker room.

They flew all the way across the pond, were severely undermanned, and played their hearts out to have a lead with 8 seconds left.

And YOU Fed them.

Wait, how is Nick not a good coach?

All he does is win.... Wait or is that Jalen? Wait again... what's the difference?

Let's not forget going for it 4th down when a punt could have changed field position with how our defense was playing.

1 hour ago, Swoop said:

We didn't deserve to win. Honestly. Hurts sucks. The OL sucks. Sirianni sucks.

I know that's an unpopular position but I feel the same way. If the offense had played the first 25 minutes of the second half nearly the way they played in the last 5 minutes we would not be having this discussion.

46 minutes ago, eagle45 said:

Mansions been auditioning for the job all year he runs the offense.

I mean I'm not a Sirianni hater by any means. I like the guy. But maybe its just time.

Also there's a difference between being a HC and OC. I'm not blaming him after 5 games for the offense when they've had a ton of injuries and sorry to say Hurts is limited as a passer.

If they are in fact looking at firing Sirianni then let Mannion take over completely and let him do things his way. He probably would have kicked it out of the endzone today and not go for it so much on 4th down.

If things aren't trending up by the end of the season with Mannion at HC then you can look elsewhere for the position.
