Didn’t get to watch any part of the game, which hasn’t happened in a long time. Crazy and heartbreaking ending in a typical Eagles way. Just going on stats, it seems that the Jags moved the ball pretty well on our D until they got into the red zone. With the ineptitude of the offense, it’s going to be tough for the defense to hold up when they’re constantly on the field for extended time.

Two tough losses where the team as a whole performed better than expected - not that that’s saying much. Season will be a roller coaster and with the division being terrible, we could actually still sneak into the playoffs. Not sure that would be a good thing, as we have no shot to go deep.

Those posts aren’t a defense of Hurts. We just have too many plays that have no prayer of working.

They you/we/everyone need to criticize Lurie and Howie for hiring a relentless succession of incompetent offensive coordinators.

Man reading over the blog from last night, even some of the more level-headed posters are on one lately. I suggest you dorks step away from the blog/football for a bit, maybe try an interaction with a member of the opposite sex (or same sex if that's your thing). Or call up Jed York, take a field trip to a trailer park in Ohio.

The board is going to be awful pretty much until Hurts or Sirianni is run out of town. The weird thing to me was that people were completely cool keeping Doug after he won 4 games in 2020, even with Doug mismanaging 4th down calls pretty often (with no brotherly shove), but pretty much every time Sirianni does anything wrong for any reason, or the Eagles lose a game, they act like their first born child died. Again.

Humans are hypocritical, kind of just how it works.

It appears that with an abbreviated off season/preseason implementing a new scheme is very difficult, especially with green coaches and incomplete/mismatched personnel. Might even be a situation, where you might want to revert to what worked previously as the core group of players can more easily find their place as new concepts are added.

Meh. They scored 17 points. All game. You are factually correct but they could have, like, scored more points too.

No $hit

Yeah that’s where you and @hputenis have your furry parties. I’m sure he shows up and joins in on whatever it is you guys typically do to @olsilverhair

It's almost like all the injuries like WR1, 3 RBs, TE for a few games, all the OL shuffling, and a HOF RT retiring are having a weird impact on things.

As for Sirianni taking the blame for stuff, its what all good managers do. One of my best managers was very much, leave it with me, don't worry etc. And its the same approach I take now.

If you want employees to be loyal and operate without worrying about mistakes, sometimes you gotta take one for the team when someone messes up. The fact few players leave the team and really get on Sirianni suggests there is a public facing doofus HC and the people manager internally that isn't that.

Every HC will leave the team, so Sirianni will too (my guess is end of season at this moment). The disrespect towards him, when in face of the team's record under his leadership, is kind of wild though. Aaron Glenn is a HC in the NFL, as is Brian Schottenheimer. As was Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll.

We're supposed to pat Sirianni on the back for taking blame? Come on dude stop being so soft. Sirianni wanted this role and he wanted to be in charge of game decisions from the beginning. He's been the HC for 5 complete seasons, coaches who have this many games/situations under their belt shouldn't be making numerous boneheaded mistakes when your strictly a sideline game manager. Yea it hasn't been all Sirianni with mistakes throughout the years but Sirianni has also put himself out there to deserve the callouts when he falls on his face. Let's not act like Nick has been a complete professional on the field. He has had some jacka** moments........what's wrong with accepting your role and letting the coordinators do what they do best?

It's funny, Nick played the WR position, got an OC job but never called plays and then he wants to have his hand in the offense as a HC.........but you won't ever hear of Sirianni walking into Fangio's office unless its to get his coffee order. There was and is no reason for Nick to have majority say in the offensive philosphy, he can't provide answers now. Sit back and lead - focus on clock management, situations, quick thinking scenarios etc.

I said it in a post two weeks ago and I still stand by it. Sirianni and Hurts both are not feared by the league (coaches and coordinators), yes they have 2 SB appearances and a win to dangle in front of everyone but 5-6 years from now not many people will look back at Sirianni's win percentage and say man that was a hell of a coach. HOWIE has more respect from the league than these two, and don't think for one second other teams think he will sit back and slowly rebuild after this debacle is over.

Sirianni doesn't take on the blame, he deserves the blame.

But that's exactly what Sirianni is doing....he literally accepted his new role and is letting the coordinators do it.

Do you think we can hire LaFleur to help Mannion?

Foles as a backup won the SB missing key players

I really find it remarkable that a majority of people think Sirianni is still running this offense. Did we just completely ignore the entire narrative put forth by Eagles brass this offseason?

Sirianni was all but publicly neutered. They are running someone else's offense. Someone else is calling the plays.

And everyone just craps all over Sirianni every time it falls flat on its face. His entire role this year is to be the fall guy for Howie's offensive personnel and Hurts' shortcomings as a QB. And he's been willing to do it just to keep the HC job another year.

In the offseason he'll get fired and the personnel will still suck and Hurts will still suck. Just as there is no Patullo to blame this year, there will be no Sirianni to blame next year. I'm going to gouge my eyes out being told that the offense will be so much better just because we've subtracted Sirianni, addition by subtraction. And the cycle continues.

Just close your eyes and ignore all of the times the offense doesn't score.

The blog IS the trailer park in Ohio for a lot of us.

I'm pretty sure there's no way people would believe it unless the offense was wildly successful, if it's not, it's surely because meddling.

You guys realize this team is actually run by Howie Roseman right?

If this offense were just destined for steady improvement with the QB and new OC combo....and Siri's meddling was THE reason the offense looks the same...you really think Howie would just allow it?

He would step in...just as he did in the offseason...and separate Nick from the offense. He'd fire him if it came to it. Howie doesn't care how things look. You really think he's just sitting on his hands fantasizing about offseason trades while Sirianni sabotages the offense?

I'm telling you...you guys are pinning a double homicide on a guy that's been locked up for the last 6 months.
