Guess it's safe to say he won't be there for us then.

Yeah I wouldn't be shocked if Dallas takes him as the first CB ff the board.

At least Howie changed it up this year.  Instead of blowing it draft weekend, he blew it a month before.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Did something happen aside from that tweet? Why is everyone freaking that Horn won’t be there at 12?

I wouldn’t touch someone with a spine surgery at 12.

Microdiscectomy.  That pretty minor. Suggest herniation with the bulge causing some sciatica where they basically to a arthroscopic shaving on that bulge.  No suggestion of any annular tear so it sounds like the disc is largely in place.  We aren’t talking about a fusion or radiculopathy.  Success rate for his procedure is 80%. Worsening is at 4%.  If he is there at 37, unless they grabbed Horn or Surtain at 12, they should grab him. He seems fully recovered from his ACL.  A bit risky at 12.

Surtain/Horn is a toss up. Waddle/Smith is a toss up. One of them will be there at 12.

Dallas’ OL is getting shaky.  While CB is a possibility, they may go for a OT.

Are they really great drafters though? It's not like they've had very much on field success....

the people in here ****ing about the move down from 6 better not be the same people in here next year all excited about having an extra 1.  I just don't see a likely scenario whereI we won't have at least 1 option at 12 that makes it worth that trade given the roster today.  We aren't just a [CB or WR or DE or LB] away from being a SB contender again.  And it isn't like we dropped out of the first round altogether.

I honestly think it feels more dramatic because there are about 20 names that could be gone before we pick.  But only 11 will be off the board.

This is spot on. My concern too is that it seems that generally whatever the worst outcome is, is what happens for this team:

Jordan Hicks was injury prone in college, is injury prone here and hasn't missed a game since leaving.

Sidney Jones had a bad injury and has been injury prone.

Carson Wentz had injury issues in college and in the pros early on.

Malik Jackson was a model for health and immediately goes down for the season once he got here.

Hargrave was a healthy starter in Pittsburgh, came here and immediately had an injury that impacted his entire season.

Ronald Darby was fairly healthy, came here to miss several games with several injuries over the span of three seasons, heads to Washington and plays all 16.

Mike Wallace healthy career, comes here and immediately goes down for the year.

And so on and so on.

How often has it been we bring in an injury prone player that actually stays healthy? Further, does anyone stay healthy on this team?

It seems the injury issues may be from the coaching regime.  I dont know what they do or didnt do in practice.  They didnt have the injury issues under Chip.

They wouldn't have made the trade from #6 to 12 unless they were comfortable with the prospects there.  Either Surtain or Horn is perfectly fine for #12 and both would have been a reach at #6.  If they're both gone then one of the prime WR will be there.  I always felt the trade to #12 put them in the sweet spot at CB

4 QB in the first 4 picks which will force another team to trade up for the one left. Five going top 10 will push someone back for the Eagles.

Cowboys....you watch

I think Cowboys are going with either Surtain or Horn.  I could see them also as a candidate to trade back.

Yeah Moore had a bad outing but you gotta love what we seen from the top 3 guys. Nola/Wheeler/Eflin was excellent in their first start of the season. Something to build on.

Don’t know what to expect from Chase Anderson but hoping hoping he can close out the back end of the rotation. Maybe Velasquez finally figures it out?

If velasquez hasn’t figured it out by now i am doubt he ever does. The kid has electric stuff but mentally just falters. Hoping Howard is eventually given a chance again. Also girardi talked about Medina. 2-3 years ago he was a highly rated prospect in our farm system. But tailed off. Even if he’s just a back end of the rotation guy that gives you 5-6 innings it would be huge for the Phillies

I don’t think 4 QBs ever went 1234

si what are we saying? This is greatest QB class ever ?

I say no , and a cpl GMs will be unemployed in a cpl years

BGN posted an article 'What's your most controversial NFL opinion?' Mine is this. The Eagles are actually fine. The QB played very good for his first few starts(amazing how the expectations changed though). The WR corps and TEs have been horribly underrated based on the overrating of Wentz's leadership and accuracy last season. Our o-line could be dominant. Our running game looks good too. Naturally we're reliant on the coaching, but the selections were all sound in my opinion. Carson may have mutineed first on the team after getting the FU money, but instead of trying to save the season, Pederson gave up as well.

4-11 gives all kinds of talking heads and blowhards a new lease on criticizing the Eagles. Enjoy your time. The lack of hard data opens the gate for all kinds of negative spec and conspiracy theories. Again I say; enjoy your time. What kills me with all this negative spec is; won't there be a credibility penalty if you're all wrong? I guess when has there ever been? Negadelphia is an accurate term. While the greater fan base will forget how negative a lot of so-called 'insiders' were if the Eagles win 10 games, the negative posters here will be much quicker to remember my positivity if they don't kick butt right away. Par for the course.

I'm sorry Jones's career was definitely impacted by his achilles.  I mean he went from a 1st round candidate to someone who is barely in the League.  A lower back surgery is just different than a cervical surgery though neither are great.  He is not going to be healed at the time of the draft.  I think it's a gamble given the availability of Horn and other 2nd to 3rd round picks who might be solid starters.

I'm just curious how it has been affected?  He's had multiple injuries but none of them are related to that specific injury.  To me, his body just isn't built for the NFL.

I agree, it's a gamble, just trying to look at all scenarios.

If the Eagles OL is healthy, we could be good.

Of course, counting on the Eagles to be healthy is crazy.

Yeah, we'll have to agree to disagree.  Press conferences and optics matter.  Especially in the NFL.  I doubt, very seriously, that his tone and style of communicating will be vastly different to the players and coaching staff then what we have seen thus far.  Those players and coaches will see right through that.  I don't trust the new Lurie and Howie to make the right decision at HC especially when he was a guy no one even heard of and was their 10th interview.  20 years ago, Lurie sure.  Now, after winning it, seemingly "his way", no way.   Just to know that those two dunces liked him as the HC of the Eagles is enough for me to have doubts about the hire.  I would love to be wrong, but his press conferences and interactions with the media is a peak under the tent of his style of coaching.  He seems insubstantial in every way.

Do you think he seems like the kind of guy to command a room full of about 100 grown alpha males?

Neither do I.

Meh - Gen Z kids are soft.

I want us to trade back into the end of round 1 for Creed Humphrey. I don’t want to worry about C for another decade

I know what it is and what the numbers are.  There’s more to it than shaving, which is often described to simplify things online.  Even the most minimally invasive form of the surgery alters biomechanics to increase stress on other levels, not to mention the risk of re-herniation.  And this is absolutely radiculopathy...that’s the reason the surgery is done.  Doesn’t mean this can’t go well for him, but it does mean his stock needs to take a big hit.

Assuming it was the maximally straightforward variant, my advice would be to deduct 32 spots in the draft from wherever you thought he belonged before knowing about the back. My assumption is other teams will be more along the lines of 15-20 docked spots.

I can’t decide which of these I like best
