The Giants should send is a thank you note for saving them that playoff birth.  They have an extra first round pick to show for it.

The WFT lost out on a QB thanks to that wasted trip to the playoffs.

Well of course we can never know either way but NFLN were also saying we're probably jumping NYG for Smith, before the pick was in. Then NYG go and pick a WR. To me the evidence is pretty strong.

Howie just died a little inside. 

At the end of the day, we are all going to debate the Devanta Smith pick until he plays and is productive as an Eagle. It really doesn’t matter if Howie doesn’t do anything productive with the rest of the picks.

We have no corners, safeties who will be gone in two years, and a defensive line in need of a major overhaul. Add that to the fact we really have no linebackers.

Then we are about to turn over 60% of our offense of line in the next two years.

The Colts taking BPA in Paye makes sense, but man not giving a guy like Wentz a LT is recipe for a disaster.

Eagles will not trade up back into the first, better chance you see them move back in the 2nd round. Eagles are in the prime spot for a move back in the 2nd.

DeSean was explosive coming out of college, but he also rounded his routes and depended on his athleticism.

Smith is one of the most polished WRs ever to come out of college, like Harrison, he runs the route tree perfectly.

He's also a better fit for Sirianni's Indy offense than Waddle, because he can get open quickly and generate YAC.

This will also take a lot of pressure off Reagor, and allow the other young WRs to develop at their own pace.

Desean was a polished route runner as there was coming into the league. What made us worry about him back then was his size.  Well DJax kind of changes my view about lightness in a WR.  He didn’t miss games due to his size, he missed them mainly due to pulled muscles.  Smith is wiry. His BMI is pretty middle of normal range for his height and he obviously has a small bone structure. I wouldn’t be surprised if his fat percentage is pretty low. 

As good of a route runner as DJax was, Smith is better.  I really hope his speed is good enough. He seems Maclin fast to me.

Ya Giants now have potentially better trade assets for a trade up for QB or vet QB next year than the Eagles if Hurts doesn't work out.

Not really. They got an extra 1st 4th and 5th. They also reached to get Toney. 4th and 5ths are far from locks kudos on the extra 1st but they mess up this year.
