I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

General concensus on the draft?

Underwhelming to say the least.  This was supposed to be draft #1 of a rebuild.  These guys should be the core of the team.  I don't get that feeling at all.

-I was very anti-Smith but he certainly is a darn good WR and I hope he thrives here.

-Dickerson could be a great pick but those injuries scare the crap out of me.  This isn't a one-time thing.  It's been said, 4 season ending injuries.

-Williams is a freak athlete but what's his position?  Could help save a roster spot if he's a DE/DT.  Might be my favorite pick but still questions.

-McPherson.  I'm meh about.  I think there were far better corners available.

-Gainwell was a great pick.

-Tuipulotu is a DT4, maybe a Beau Allen kind of guy.

-Jackson has potential.  He's a BG clone.

-Stevens is becoming a LB.  Would have rather had Kary Vincent here.  Another S to LB project.

-Johnson was a DE at 240, listed as LB.  Yet another LB project.

I just feel very meh about this.  I'm over taking players and switching them to LB.  Take a freaking LB.  We have holes all over the roster so of course we can't fill them all.  Would have loved a safety and another WR to push those bottom 3-4.  Watkins, Hightower, Ward and JJAW don't inspire me.

I hope Smith, Dickerson, Williams, McPherson and Jackson are all starters in a few years with Gainwell getting serious snaps and one of the LB projects turns in to a ST ace.

Newman signed with Wake Forest as a three-star prospect, redshirting as a true freshman. Newman played in three games as a reserve in 2017 (2 of 4 for eight yards, one INT). Though he missed the first three games of the 2018 season with an injury, Newman stepped in for starter Sam Hartman to lead a comeback win over North Carolina State in early November, then led the team to a 3-1 record as a starter to end the year (84-141-59.6, 1,083 yards, nine TDs, four INTs passing; 64-247-3.9, four TDs rushing in six games overall). He came on strong in 2019, garnering honorable mention All-ACC honors for completing 60.9 percent of his passes (220 of 361) for 2,868 yards and 26 TDs (11 INTs) in 12 starts. He missed one game with a left (non-throwing) shoulder injury. He transferred to Georgia as a graduate student, but he decided to opt out of the 2020 season and accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl. -- by Chad Reuter

Former Texas A&M WR Jhamon Ausbon is signing with the #Eagles, per source.

Edit: Read this wrong, he signed with 49ers. Eagles signed Doug Pedersons son (TE)

We have 11 open spots on the roster

Would be hilariously awkward if they did though

Doesn't have NFL speed, has everything else.

Newman and Grimes are two really good UDFA signings

Newman is raw as hell, but he has all the tools, size, arm, and athleticism. Let's see what our new QB coach can do with him.

Newman is perfect for QB3.  A. we don't have one and B. he can certainly develop in to a QB2.

Grimes is interesting, he's an A++ athlete, a true height/weight/speed specimen, but he needs major development.

Mostly meh... come back in 3 years.  Are there any foundational pieces that could be part of a new core?  Not sure.   WR doesn't qualify for me, they are ancillary.  OG/C may not ever be healthy enough to make an impact, though he has talent and might be the most likely one to become a foundational piece.  Williams looks like a rotational guy, which is nice, but not foundational.  The rest might be contributors, or might not be.  Time will tell.   This was by no means a 'bad' draft per se.  BUT... it was not one that could be viewed as changing the direction of the organization.  Next year they have 3 first round picks.  Let's hope that those players are the type that can become cornerstones of the organization.  These players were not.

I like Smith for Hurts or whoever our future QB is. They gambled on the center and I hope he stays healthy. Seemed like a couple are going to be out of their natural position on defense though

I still want Howie fired regardless of this draft and what they end up becoming in the future

yup.

Alot rides on whether Dickerson can stay healthy imo

Yup.

Jamie Newman! Great UDFA. Has all the tools. Perfect developmental QB.

I am officially submitting Trevon Grimes' name for the 2021 Nasty Nate award.

Announcements are slow this year. In the past we would already have a full UDFA class agreed to.

Him and Adams were my 2 late rd WOs

The #49ers are signing former UAB WR Austin Watkins Jr., per source. #NFLDraft

One of my favorite "sleeper" WR's in this class lands in a GREAT SPOT👀 @TheDraftNetwork

Former Grambling OL David Moore is signing with the Panthers,

Legitimately Shocked Grimes went undrafted. Perhaps I’m biased but 4.4 speed at his height with great hands. His routes are unpolished but I think he makes this team.

All my guys signed else where, including my Punter Chrisman errrrrrrr.

Howie didn’t sign Brennan Eagles, he went to the Cowboys.
