More like one more step closer to Scott out the door.

They should have picked up Kylin Hill in round 6 or 7. Dude went in round 7 to the Packers. What a frikn steal. It's not even fair.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Westbrook was an elite-level weapon. Gainwell is more likely to top out as Hines. That's still a good outcome for a 5th rounder!

I think we should be happy if he is Hines like, though I do think his ceiling is higher. Just have to hope he actually reaches it

Suddenly Boston Scott is sweating.

We could always just bring him back the week of Giants games.

Who knows with Gainwell? Huntley was Lions 5th rd pick last year and got cut.  I know everyone will tell me the difference but point is you just don't know until they start playing

I might be a cynic ......

but I thought the idea when you get a big money contract was to get a new improved girl?

What a catch at 2:45.  We haven't had someone with this elite level of ability at WR since TO.

Would be nice to get the Boston Scotts and Greg Wards off the roster at the end of the summer.

Great stories and will always be part of Eagles lore.

But we can do better.

Met my wife when I was 19, married at 23.  Age 43 now.   Couldn't be happier with my decision.   Or, maybe I should say, hers.   🤣

Trade Zach and Miles for a shutdown corner?

Generally speaking, great stories don't make for great football players.    Vince Papale was a great story, but never a great football player.   Rudy was a great story, but never even approached a great player.

Nick Foles... ah, now that was a story!  And during that story, he became a great player, then he went back to being a pumpkin.

I mean, anything could happen with a rookie. Maybe he’s better than Westbrook. Who knows, really?

Realistically, I’d be ecstatic if he was a Sproles level player. I think he might be more dynamic as a pass catcher than Sproles, but not as elusive as a ball carrier.

Sproles was criminally overrated in the passing game during his time here.  He had a horrific catch radius and a really high percentage of his targets ended up hitting the turf.

I don’t think Gainwell has the pinball quickness of a prototypical 3rd down back, but his actual receiving skills and tracking ability befit a WR...better than the WRs we are used to in Philly, actually.

"It almost felt like a mythical place … Wawa,” she told the podcast, adding: "By the time I got there, I was like, ‘It’s real!’ Walking into a Wawa ultimately felt like, it was kind of an honor, in a funny way, because to me that was the heart of Delco. So to finally walk through the door of a Wawa; I don’t know why I felt like, ‘Oh, yes, I’m here, I belong. This is where it’s at. Wawa.’”

Although Winslet said she mainly ordered coffee at Wawa, her "Mare of Easttown” co-star Evan Peters (who plays Detective Colin Zabe)l decided to dabble in Wawa’s hoagie selection.

"He would say, ’Ugh, you gotta try the Gobbler,” Winslet said of Peters. "And it was this gigantic sub, basically — or hoagie, this huge hoagie. It’s basically a Thanksgiving meal in a hoagie. He was like, ‘Oh, yeah, I just eat that thing and I pass out.’ And I’d be like, ‘I’m not surprised! I’m not surprised, Evan!’”

Gainwell is a great investment in the 5th round.  He could end up a very productive player.  I prefer not to try to pigeon hole him.   Great backs can come from any where in the draft.  We've seen it time and again.  Westbrook was 3rd round, Wilbert 6th.   Plenty of bad picks too.  Ultimately, the proof will be revealed on the field one way or the other.

They are both are weak.  No way you should pass out from a Gobbler.   That's a tasty sandwich.

Disagree with Brady on this

I agree...great pick and fit in round 5.  Upside as a runner, not just receiver.  The Eagles also happen to have a really good track record drafting RBs.  But as we all know, football is a very interdependent web.  I think our RB draft track record is also a function of having such a high end OL for much of the last 20 years.

Sproles has short arms. You have to hit him in the chest. Carson rarely could.

Someone is going to take a past-prime catch it and fall down TE who wants premium TE money and a RB about to get into his 2nd contract — and give up a "shutdown CB”?

Practice in shorts in the offseason is physiologically different than throwing 95...different levels of stress on the body.  So it’s a bad comparison.  I agree.

For all the money the nfl makes...and sorry to be harsh...the fact remains that the players are expendable.  In the nba and mlb, players are integral to league popularity.

In the nfl, they are irrelevant.  Churning and burning players means you sell MORE jerseys.  Brady, Rodgers, and Mahomes are the only players in the entire league that transcend that.

In the For Your Entertainment section in WU there's a thread titled HBO Max where this show is discussed.  It's a very good show.  Only 3 episodes in to this point.  Has the feel of the UK's Broadchurch or the US' Gracepoint (basically the same show, both starring David Tennant, just one based in the UK and the other on the West Coast of the US).  I found out about this show via an article discussing how films/TV shows never even attempt a Philly accent.  They all do the Neew Yawk/Joisey accent (north Jersey) instead and pass it off.  But for this show, the one writer is from the area and HBO has given free reign for them to try and make it as authentic as possible and Winslet has put in work to get the accent down.  I've read reviews on IMDB written by people from the area and they applaud her accent on the show.

And yeah, I did read somewhere how Peters is sort of hooked on Wawa's Gobbler Hoagie and how Winslet was kind of taken by the mystique of Wawa, if you want to refer to it like that.

Again different team. I agree that Doug was bad last year. But I don't think this year proves that.
