Kurt Coleman was an underrated player.  I'd take a Coleman in his prime over any of the current safeties.  He had his limitations but the guy could play and you never once had to question his effort.

Didn’t get take out a few of our own players by playing undisciplined?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Wasn't that Sendejo?  Same number.  I know he took out Maddox.

You keep obsessing about that.  Why?

"I keep obsessing over it".  I wouldn't call mentioning something 3 times "obsessing". But you do you.

If you were ready to take Slater because Dallas was going to take the offer with Chicago rather than picking Parsons at 10. We would’ve ended up with Slater and kept pick 84 which still could’ve been the right move because I don’t see them taking Dickerson at 37, guessing CB, S or WR. Devonta or bust for Howie

Put me down for the flip, we would just be 1 of 31 other Devonta-less teams but cornering the market on 2022 1st rounders. Wonder if Dallas had some stipulation forbidding that. Flipping, where bad teams go to die but now are being resurrected Cleveland, Miami, Jets

While the Giants trade was good for them, I would not change what the Eagles did.  The opportunity to add a player who truly changes the game for you is not something to pass up for future considerations.  It all depends on your projection of Smith.

Its interesting to see the GM-in-name-only talking about "difference makers” - a prominent discussion in this community throughout the offseason.  More circumstantial evidence that bizarrely, many ideas discussed here first seem to percolate to reporters or even team officials.

It will be interesting to see how Toney and Smith progress and compare  , both have young QBs throwing them the ball

i like Smith , but I think Toney is very underrated

We're going to see Toney make more dynamic, jaw-dropping plays whereas Smith is just going to get it consistently done IMO.

Toney is over rated. Was on my "do not want” list

I would trade Devonta Smith for 2- firsts, a 5th and a 4th  EVERY BLEEPING DAY OF THE WEEK!!!!

I'll take the player. At some point you have to pick talent. We've send what picks in the 20s gets us. No one knows what will happen but Toney is no where near the WR prospect that Smith is

1st question that needs to be asked: what position is actually best for Mailata to maximize his fit?  He showed some real vulnerability to speed rushers around the edge last year.  While his strength and athleticism-for-size are both unquestionable, his pure quickness is not.  I’m not saying he’s not a fit at LT, but I am saying there is the possibility that he’s a better fit at RT given his frame and struggles with speed.

2nd: If Mailata is a better RT fit, what is so wrong about giving the smaller, quicker, more finesse blocker in Dillard a shot at LT?

3rd: Does anyone actually expect Lane Johnson to play more than 10 games next year?

Because Dillard gets tossed around like a child when someone comes at him with a bull rush.  He shouldn't be on the field at all unless they are trying to throw a game like week 17 of this past season.

Toney will be nothing more than another Tavon Austin.

What pick would you take him at? 40? 45? 60?

Had a second round grade at best on him

likely would not have taken him at all. Let someone else over draft him. Better players around at our picks.

Saints took two guys on my Do Not Want list with their first two selections.  Turner was a late riser on draft boards and the Saints spent their first round pick on him, after supposedly trying to trade up from 28 into the top 10 for a CB?  Then they took Pete Werner in the second round -- heard an interview with him yesterday, and he doesn't even sound bright.  Took Ian Book in the 4th round, which was odd as well.

Hopefully that classless team is headed in the wrong direction, fast.

Without Brees they are a .500 team.

  • The N.F.L. signed new media rights agreements with CBS, NBC, Fox, ESPN and Amazon collectively worth about $110 billion over 11 years, nearly doubling the value of its previous contracts. The contracts, which will take effect in 2023 and run through the 2033 season, will cement the N.F.L.’s status as the country’s most lucrative sports league.

And NFL employees are the only ones who make money for their company by their work?   And should companies pay for work not done by their employees when the employees are injured 'off the job'?  No and no.

Here's the deal:  the contract, that they agreed to, that pays them all this money, deals with issues like being injured while away from the facilities.  If they want to risk their contract status by not working out at the facilities, they have every right to do so.   But, if they are injured while doing so, away from the facilities, they knew (or should have known) the risk.
And if I get injured and can't work, I have some sick days that I can use to cover myself, and after that, my personal disability insurance policy takes over and I receive the money from the insurance, not my employer.

So, if the NFLPA wants to boycott OTAs, limit the time of the players at the facility, they have to recognize the risk inherit in that decision.  And the easiest way for them to mitigate that risk would be with an insurance policy.  Then they can still get paid something, the NFL can do what is in their best interest and still push for the players to be at the facilities working out, and the unions can still push their players to be a part of the boycott.    (And if the union were really looking out for the players' best interest, they'd create a 'group' and connect with some insurance company to get the players a special rate for injuries sustained away from the training facilities.  That would be the union being proactive about a clearly stated situation between what the union wants and what the contract says.)

Unless of course you have disability insurance.

Even with disability insurance, you only get a portion of your salary, but it sure beats nothing.   And it would be 'personal responsibility' to take care of one's best interest.   I rolled the dice early in my career without disability insurance, then I saw a friend get sick and couldn't work.  His disability insurance was the only way he and his family got by.   Immediately, I got some and haven't been without it since.

Yup, I rolled the dice early in my career as well. My company does provide a bit of short term, but now I'm all in for the pay part of short term and long term.

Oh for sure but he will make a few big plays.  Nothing warranting pick 20 but he will flash.

My union offers a bit of a safety net with a 'sick bank'.  But, that only kicks in with sick days donated from other members after you have used all of yours and there's a limit to how many you can have donated to you.  After that... you are SOL.

Heck that's pretty nice though of others to donate their sick days.

It is.  I've been blessed enough to be able to donate to others, and haven't had to concern myself with days myself.   It's always nice to be able to help out when someone is in need.   And if I can give up a sick day so that someone else can get bread for their family... I do it.   Small price to pay.
