Why?

They already have Seamulo at LG and Kelce at C.  Only way Dickerson would play is if an injury happens to those 2 which is a good possibility.   But Dickerson wont start right away, especially still recovering from that knee injury.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Besides Kerrigan, most of the recent signings don't even count against the cap at this point.

If he's at the vet minimum, it's not really an issue.  He'd just be replacing someone with a similar cap hit.

Only the top 51 count right now.  At the end of TC, that's when all 53, and PUP and IR and PS will count.   Doubtful Clark got much money.  Likely a vet minimum 1 year deal.

Yeah. So what then?

Yeah, signing washed up players for 1 year minimum contracts 🤡🌏

Then all of those players' salaries count and they need to be under the cap limit, not just 51.

I really liked him coming out.   This is a bad sign for Dillard, imho.

I just don't see a spot for Dillard on this team, he is not going to beat out Mailata for LT and is literally useless for every other starting spot on the line. In regards to being a backup Tackle, Eagles like their backups Tackles to be able to play both sides, something we know he can't do.

I'm not on the Steve Nelson bandwagon.  He clearly wants to get paid.  Where the Eagles are now, I want them to take a chance on Gareon Conley.  That move would be a low risk, high reward signing at an outside CB.

The issue I have is they continue to add slot CB.  Last year they had Cre'Von LeBlanc coming back and he was highly touted as a slot corner.  I thought he was their best CB coming back last year.  They had Avonte Maddox, who is built to be a slot CB.  What do they do?  Bring in NRC, another slot CB all while ignoring the need for 2 starting outside CB.  FWIW, Slay is not who I would have brought in.  I was not on board with using draft capital on top of the large contract extension.  I wanted James Bradberry.  Wasn't a fan of Byron Jones and the ridiculous cash he got.

BTW, pick 85 that was traded for Slay turned in to Julian Blackman who started 14 games at safety for the Colts (traded w/Detroit) coming up with 2 INTs, 6 PD and a FF.

Pick 166 turned in to Quintez Cephus.  He tested HORRIBLY but was a stud at Wisconsin.  Would have loved to have him here.  He could be a big slot WR.  As a rookie, he's already out performed JJAW with 20 catches for 349 yards and 2 TDs.  He went 2 picks ahead of John Hightower.  For me I would have been much more happy with Cephus and Watkins.  Gives you 2 different skillsets rather than just taking speed guys.

Would you rather have Darius Slay or James Bradberry, Julian Blackman and Quintez Cephus?

But Howie's a great roster builder though

There's no real big reason to worry about the cap when it transitions from Top 51 to 53 and any guys on PUP/IR

These are all guys in the Top 51 that have no dead money tied to them. Some of them will make it, but then there's others like Opeta, Piershbacher, Croom, Toth etc that likely aren't making the team. So if 5 of those guys get cut you are opening up more than $4M in cap for the 52 and 53 guy plus anyone that's on IR/PUP.

Dillard had - what? - three days to learn RT after never having played it in his life. Yes, he stank, but he had no chance. And how many tackles have we had who could play both sides? I can think of two - Herremans and Vaitai. Runyan couldn't, Tra couldn't. Peters probably could have but never did. That's like telling Roy Halliday to go out and pitch and then saying, "Oh, by the way, Doc. You gotta throw lefty."

Time to ship Dillard/Ertz/both for a corner.

They aren't signing players to big numbers.   So, they are concerned about it.    And as was discussed, Maddox may be a cut because of his $2M salary.     And many cuts after June 1 pushes some of that money to the next year, a Howie specialty.

Those cuts will be replaced by others, so don't count on that $4M.   It would shrink to closer to $2M.. as rookies would count about $600k each.

Well, it worked for Billy Wagner.

You are very correct though.  We don't know what Dillard could be if he had more time to work on RT.   And I remember at the time talking about how foolish it was to throw him there at the time.   But, he will need to prove that he can flip this TC, I think.

Right but what I'm saying is they will be replaced by someone making less. So the net effect will be positive. The only two rookies with a bigger cap number is Smith and Dickerson. All the other ones are replacing the cut guys at less cost.

Amazing that would have to be explained.  I wonder if NFL.Com had McCleod as a starter as well.

Yeah I'm pretty sure their starting 5 is set outside of LT.  Not sure where NFL.com is getting that other than they forgot about Seamulo.

Guy is so nervous he can't answer questions without stalling for time and he's supposed to lead our team? No wonder he's too scared to stay in the pocket.

Curious how many people that will trigger without realizing I'm joking.

you literally highlighted  my quote about context and asked about week 17?

Star running back Miles Sanders, who missed the Week 1 matchup between the two teams, is out with a knee injury. Tight end Dallas Goedert is out with a calf injury. Veteran pass-catcher DeSean Jackson will also not play with an ankle injury. Starting tackle Jordan Mailatta is also out with a concussion.

we had our worst version of our oline all year that game going up against the best dline in football.  ON top of that it was  a game in which the Eagles were clearly not interested in playing.

If you take anything from that game you're a moron.

Your idea of impressive is pathetic
