This thought that we are some invincible entity built on the mighty power of capitalism and good ole American exceptionalism is exactly why it will eventually fail. To be American is to only care about ourselves and nobody else, even fellow Americans. I mean look at half the posts in this forum - somehow liberals and conservatives are respectively considered second class citizens because people are too shallow and short sighted to see through the nonsense.

So either it will be a madman or women that is in control of the military or a virus will wipe us out because we are too stupid to follow common sense guidelines to protect each other.

Well according to some here, the depopulation process has already begun via the man made covid virus, so by wiping out a % of the population it’s easier to take over.  But that might be too flat earthy for a logical discussion here 😆

Well, I don't disagree for a second that we are a nation in decline and we will likely succumb to our own internal infighting.  Hopefully that's not sooner than later, but at the rate we're going we may not make it out of the decade.  As for technology and bio weapons, I suppose you're right.  But this is an enormous country, and it parts very rural.  History shows us that the opening salvo of toleration regimes is usually to disarm the populous.  I think this happens well before bio weapons and drone warfare. But who the hell knows.

I know some will read what I wrote and think it is some sci-fi garbage that will never happen. That would be a mistake to ignore what is going on though. I am not saying that it is some kind of Terminator BS, but drones are very real, they are getting smarter and smaller and in the very near future it would be possible to have one execute a very precise and targeted assassination.

Now if you get thousands of these, all in control of one person with a group that is dedicated to that person's vision, you could easily start an internal war with a take over. Even a AR-15 is not going to help you out if there are a bunch of these things out there, especially if they are armed to self destruct if attacked.

Again, I highly doubt something like this would ever really happen, at least in my lifetime. I think a much deadlier virus is more likely, especially since this country has proven that it would fall right on it's face and completely fail.

Just let me know when it's time to pack up and take my guns, 4 wheeler and supplies out to the woods.  Thanks!

I would like to think the military scenario is fantasy... Until we saw members of the military and authorities participate in open and violent insurrection against the government. So it makes me wonder what could happen.

But to bring it back to topic (sort of): I agree, I believe we could have done a better job managing the pandemic. It would have made our country a lot stronger. But judging by how virtually the rest of the world is struggling the same virus, I don't think we've lost much ground either.

my kid's school is requesting copies of the students' covid vaccination cards to "put into their files".  should i be outraged?  is this how it starts?  are they trying to control us?

If it’s a public school then, At this point you don’t have to provide it.  The vaccine is Not FDA approved for kids therefore can’t be mandated yet, so they have no right to ask for or be given confirmation that they are vaccinated.  That day will come, but today is not the day.  If it’s a private school then I guess they could technically mandate it and ask for proof.  But that’s not likely to happen given that people are flocking to private schools to escape the gubment control.
