**Official Philadelphia 76ers Thread 2022/2023 Regular Season*

This sounds like Micheals and Collinsworth calling the superbowl. These guys are openly rooting for Miami. So much more excitement when they do something good. And they ignored the fact that Butler came across Milton's shooting hand and affected his follow through. Refs got it wrong too. Ridiculous.

Posted this on the blog but it holds true and it really is like that

Barkley said it best yesterday on the radio, this structure of where the sixers are reminded him of his time with the sixers where he was coming into his own superstar like embiid. But the sixers kept making dumb move after dumb move. And what was left was him and 1-2 other players and a bunch of crap. So he didn’t want to waste his career in a bad organization that was likely stuck in a purgatory and regressing. That’s basically embiid and maxey with a bunch of crap off the bench, a broken down getting older by the day harden and an overpaid Harris due to the sixers  basically being forced to after deciding on Simmons over butler and trading for Harris at the deadline. They can make a move here or there but this team is basically stuck with these pieces until harden’s contract expires and tobias can be dealt as an expiring contract or his contract runs out in 2 years. By that point embiid might be declined to the point where you are at the pre-process days of being a 6-8 seed.

Well, they're done

You forgot Hamstring too.

Morey deserves just as much blame for his obsession with a washed up Harden.

So does Michael Rubin. Rubin is BFFs with harden and also was pulling to get him here last year and this year when he came available. He’s been Star hunting obsessed since colangelo got fired. And morey as well. Bith were obsessed with harden and both deserve criticism.

Glenn getting snippy lmao

I hope they lose by 30. Screw Doc

Lmao harden!! Freaking loser!

Yeah.  That was an obvious foul.  Doesn’t matter.

F’n bad news bears.

Yeah. Embiid needs more than 1-2 good players with him. Embiid is a strictly regular season player. He will always be too fatigued, and too injured to dominate through the playoffs. He is a super max regular season player, and just an above average starter by the time playoffs come.

For a team that wants to sell tickets in the regular season he is worth the price of his contract. For a team with championship aspirations, he needs incredible depth around him to help carry his weight when hes playing like a role player. And his supermax makes it difficult to build enough around him.

He’s such a bum.  Dude dribbles the ball off his feet more than any "star” I’ve seen.

Just another thing I was right about.  I guess it’s getting old for others.

I was with you the whole way on Harden. My hatred for people wanting this clown started last year when the rumors were going.

Move your fat ass harden you are drawing double teams to your teammates cause you won't effing move off the top of the arc you fat eff

In what universe is Butler thrusting his arm down into Maxey’s as he’s trying to take it to the hoop not a foul?

At least Maxey is still hustling.

To be honest this is an accumulation of bad moves by the sixers FO and ownership that’s gotten a horrible team around embiid outside of maxey. As well as embiid continuously getting hurt in the playoffs. Drafting Furkan or TLC or Okafor or trading away bridges for nothing or  wasting cap space on Al Horford and having to trade him with a pick just to get rid of that contract. At some point in time when you waste the amount of assets the 76ers have  and the cap space they’ve had they gotten little out of FAs this is what happens. You get a team stuck in a purgatory and wasting embiid’s career.

I’ve said this before at some point in time probably sooner rather than later embiid like Barkley is going to ask to be traded because they’re just wasting his career. That’s the reality with the moves they have made over the last four or five years to get to this point. There’s no getting out of this because nobody wants Harris. Tobias Harris over the last 3 games has reverted back to what we’ve seen from him. Where he disappears for long stretches and when games got bigger he wasn’t nearly worth the money. like Al Horford, James harden was not worth it at this stage of his career. Morey/Rubin wanted to believe it was just he was on the nets and didn’t want to be there but the reality was he was just not the same player anymore and there was no way you were winning a title with him as your second best player.

Furthermore the fact that we have to rely on a 21-year-old kid and Danny Green at 34 as much as we do just to get this far tells you there’s a massive problem with the moves the sixes have made over the last 4 years.

I hope I’m wrong. But my belief has been since  the end of last season was they were going to regress over the next 3 years back to where they were pre-process years once embiid eventually hits his decline.  It looks more like that now because the last big tree chip you had was Ben Simmons and you failed on that trade. So now you are going to be stuck with a star in embiid and a star in Maxey but the rest of that team isn’t worth the money nor very good. I don’t see how morey or any GM is catching the Celtics, bucks, suns or warriors going forward.

It was a little scary to think of giving Butler his max contract at his age. All night I noticed how he looks more lean than I have seen him in years. And he was always ripped. Never out of shape. But its clear that he changed something to take his self care to the next level and extend his effective playing career.

Here we are with slow, out of shape Harden. And injured Embiid watching his good friend Butler send him home.

Embarrassing

Tough game to watch.  Heartless performance by this team.   (Other than Maxey - that kid came to play).  Embiid has a broken face, sprained thumb and was just robbed of the MVP - so he gets a pass.

For the rest - SMH.  James Harden?  Who is James Harden?  Pathetic performance.  He can go.

No one other than Embiid and Maxey are untouchable, imo.

No other teams are touching anyone other than Embiid/Maxey. I meant Harden will find a home but we’re stuck with Tobias.

Butler definitely made it known the Sixers fed up

Besides settling on Ben Simmons over butler, I know for a fact they did not want to offer Jimmy Butler a five-year Max contract because of how they thought he would age. But the fact is if you were willing to trade for James Harden at 32 going on 33, he’s already shown decline then you should’ve had no problem at that point in time giving Jimmy Butler what he wanted cause at the end of the max he was gonna be 33/34 and likely right where harden was. Because he would’ve taken that five year max at that time.

Harden is a massive issue for the Sixers because they needed to hit a homerun on that Ben Simmons trade. That was the last major piece they had.

Additionally as much as i like Harris as a person. Tobias Harris the player is not a championship team caliber player. He’s a good player in this league but like I said when they made that trade with the clippers, Jerry West wouldn’t have traded him if he believed he was a championship caliber player. There was a reason why Jerry West didn’t try very hard to keep him. That should’ve been a red flag and  the Sixers didn’t realize it and it forced them to have to extend him after they let butler walk.
