Did that with Dune thinking it was a standalone book. Probably got about halfway through before I looked it up and found out that it's the first of a 6 book series. I'm almost through the first one now, and it definitely isn't all that fun of a read so far. It’s like reading Lord of the Rings. Lots of exposition and very verbose, but half a century ago, it was cutting-edge. VaBeach_Eagle Posted May 6, 2023 Share Posted May 6, 2023 I watched Avatar 2 last night, it's not a bad movie but it was essentially Avatar 1 all over again, only set mostly in the water this time instead of in the forest. Like I said, it's not a bad movie but it's kind of lazy of them to not come up with a new story. I also kind of expected the CGI to have been better. Can't wait for this! I like them too, despite formulaic. I like these, Bond, Bourne, Sicario (mentioned earlier) any kind of action spy thriller types. Some of them have done a better job of having the team instead of just the Tom Cruise show or sidekicks, I like the team aspect but props to Tom who doesn't age and does a lot of his own stunts. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
