Wouldn't be tooo hard to accomplish.  But let's hope.  We all saw him and Douglas as safety material at least 2 years ago.

But some of us.....he knows who he is......is so enamored with Mills.  He celebrated an easy dropped Interception as a "good play" because it was a PBU.  LOL.

The criticism about Mills on deep passes is warranted but Mills does well in red zone coverage.  He also has done a good job covering TE's.  I imagine that he's going to struggle less defending deep routes against those types of receivers.  He is also a very good tackler.  I think what is unknown is probably the QBing aspect of his play.  Is he going to be able to help the secondary adjust coverage on the fly in the way that Malcolm did.

I mentioned this previously on this board, and in the past years ago on the other board.   I'm not sure Howie has ever come out and said it this plainly, but Howie is telling the truth here.

Birds with Friends had a marathon, two-part podcast where the three of them drafted players and coaches during the Lurie era. It’s been a more enjoyable listen than I would have expected.

Yeah he is. It’s an interesting exercise, and he got caught looking a few times.

What exactly is an 'acclimation period' if they aren't going into a full 'bubble' situation?

Suspect McLeod is the secondary leader.

Too bad they couldn't have him on the field only for those RZ situations.

I think the acclimation period is basically meetings and workouts and not practices.

They also lose out on the 32 team try out with no preseason game 4 specifically. There very well could be a guy killing it during practice but get caught in the numbers. No other team is going to see that who could use him and I doubt the Eagles are going to give away any hints or info for free.

Also a good point. It really hurts them more than anything. It sucks for them. i want to say the nflpa and owners thought about all that When making a decision but i still think they overlooked it

That is my read.  Hopefully some soft tissue stretching and limbering.

Probably half of the PS will be UDFAs.

I wonder how many might have made or made it a super difficult decision for the 53 if they got more of a chance to prove themselves in the preseason.

Bounce back? How about just bounce?

Honestly, one of the first things that should happen if they try to go forward with a season is to increase the roster to 63. Teams are going to need a lot of backups when people start testing positive in the middle of the season. Practice squad isn't going to cut it because other teams will be poaching pretty regularly for the sames reasons and they are going to need people who know the playbook. Say Ertz and DG test positive on a Friday before a game. They can't go into a game with only one TE and if the Colts just poached the TE off the practice squad the Eagles are screwed.

I understand that... but if they aren't quarantining tightly outside of the building then there's really no point.  They could be exposed at any moment and then what?

That was my thought at first but more players also means more of a chance someone brings in the virus.

Also... say all five starters on the o-line get it. We really putting Wentz out there then?

I’m probably in the minority but I want everything canceled to help assure that 2021 is normal.

What they can and can't do is currently being negotiated. I think this has more to do with that and less to do with COVID safety.

(I preface this as pandemic as the no. 1 reason. But second is this reason)  I’d have waited til 2021. Frankly i think the nhl and nba restarting after 4.5 months is ridiculous besides the pandemic. 4.5 months is an entire offseason worth of time and some guys aren’t going to the bubble. So you aren’t exactly getting the true indication of what would’ve happened if the season didn’t stop 4.5 months ago. Heck Simmons was likely done for the sixers if the playoffs start on time. Again 4.5 months is an entire offseason amount of time for the nba and nhl. Only difference is there was no trade or free agency and players opting out. Add on no home court advantage and neutral site

But the play in question was a bread basket/all alone play.  Thanks for the original input though.

My son loved playing OL in HS.  His defensive position was DE.  When I was a kid, I played S (on a wishbone team). Most teams then ran some sort of option.  If a team passed more than ten times a game it was unusual.  My other position was as a WR, where thankfully, I didn’t start.  The WRs blocked more than they ran routes.  If I ran a route, my job was to try and take the DBs or LBs away from where the ball was being run.  Any time I ran a route, I was praying to the football gods not to throw the ball to me.  Decent speed but hands of stone.   When he was young, my son thought the glory was with the big throw or big catch.  I told him that if a WR drops a ball, there would be folks in the stand saying "he’s a bum, get him out of there”.   I told him that if a DB drops an interception, most folks would react with an "aww”. What I didn’t tell him was there was always one father in the stands that would be saying when the DB dropped the ball, "he’s a bum, get him out of there”.

Actually the roster is 65, fifty-three plus twelve PS.  Two PS can be somewhat protected.  Plus we have the Commissioner’s exempt list and proposed rules allowing players to come back from IR. All those can be accomplished without needing to amend the CBA.

Then we see teams tanking for higher draft choices.

Carter Hart injured in practice.  Philly sports are officially back!
