OK, so word is that the Eagles were going to draft either Chinn or Dobbins if Hurts was not available. Any comments on those two options?

Ham was high on Chinn,I like him too,but later

I wanted Mims there in a bad way lol

That would have given us Reagor-heir to Djax and mims-heir to Alshon, pretty well set(barring injury) for 4 years at WR if they both panned out

If this is the case, they could have traded back to 60 and picked up another 4th round pick in the process. 1 of the three certainly would have been there.....

Stine turn off underlline lol

IMO Dobbins would have been a nice RB,but too similar to Sanders.Of course if we went down you are covered, but we needed that basher back.Holyfield is similar enough to Sanders. The new guy Warren is a dozer,so picking Dobbins there wouldn't be a thrill up my leg

Chinn at 53 would be a reach,Mims(alot thought he was a round 1 prospect) was the guy I was watching drop and when he was still there at 53 I was like YES YES!!!!! WOOOOO,then the.......well whatever pick lol🙄

IDK Mims may not have gotten to 60,but the other 2 I think would/could have been

Actually the Eagles do better with LATE picks and UDFA's than they do in the actual draft.I had a QB for us (Morgan) but much later than 53. I was thinking traditional, but it seems they are going for a new era??.Saints worked taysom in to be the next QB,but Brees is old,Wentz isn't,so I am having a time following what it is they are trying to accomplish

First attempt from the phone...

My comment, teams can sign guys now without counting vs the comp picks.  Wonder if we see any moves soon?  Peters or Curry?

Yes we definitely got younger....but adding one or two old guys wouldn’t hurt us. I’d add Bradham to the list. He knew he would be released with his salary number. But still gave everything he had playing through injury.

Between only Chinn and Dobbins and really liking Dobbins, Chinn would have added more value in a competitive, but still unsettled room. In reality there were better players such as Mims on the board.

Dealing with the reality, read where Hurts was a coaching pick, feel it was a good one.

If the draft was any indication, then Alshon plays.Reagor will be opposite Djax the first few weeks. Then I suppose reagor moves into the slot while adding to his route tree so he can take over for Djax.I believe Hightower(I like the pick) is rough and needs work and coaching. He should be groomed to take over for Alshon. We got him late because we have TIME to get him ready,or Reagor could move outside and Ward/Jjaw takes the slot

I'm with Joe here, this pick was a "financial" pick. We are facing ugly cap numbers NEXT year,so paying a BU QB would cost us money we don't have.So you take the rook QB and there was a big drop off QB talent after Hurts. So this may work out.he could also be trade bait

That being said,we could have had Morgan late(high ceiling needs work) because he could have trained a year.Apparently we aren't that high on Suds becoming a #2 and Hurts could also step in talent wise to take over if Wentz gets hurt again

You guys know I liked Chinn. That defensive chess piece. He was my second round mock guy.

WE HAVE A WINNER!

JP, Curry, Bradham - all make the team better. If the rumours are correct and we did dangle Dillard out there, the team thinks he's soft ( other players as well I've read ), then it follows that JP is in the gameplan.

Besides being one of my fav Eagles ever and having 2 JP jerseys, as old as he is and having lost a step - he's still one of the best, commands the OL room and has a lot to teach. OL coach next yr.

OK, Let's say Hurts does work out well. Wentz gets hurt week 16 and Hurts comes in and we go to the SB. Now we are stuck with a QB controversy like SF was a few years back. Do you really want this? I surly don't. IDK, Maybe I am the only one who sees all kinds of problems whether this pick works out or it doesn't. Seems to me a trade back getting another pick and either grabbing Hurts or the other two options would be preferred. I actually prefer the other two over Hurts. Well, this is done and we have to wait and see.... I hope I am wrong and all works out....

I mean no offense to Wentz who I 100% believe in but if the man can’t stay healthy and Hurts comes in and plays at around or even possibly higher level so be it....Doesn’t matter how much talent a player has if he isn’t available

Did we have a controversy w/ Foles? Wentz gave his all until he got injured. Having Foles turned out to be a pretty good thing. Having a good b/u QB is a good problem to have.

As for the draft in the 2nd round felt like we could have drafted just about any player at any other position and it would have been more helpful. But we got Hurts now hopefully he is a great backup QB for us on the cheap that we can eventually flip for a pick or picks

Yes was a pretty big controversy with Foley’s ton wanted Foles as the starter even the locker room seemed semi divided.

Wait your complaint is you’re worried about our starting QB going down in the regular season and the backup takes us to the Super Bowl? Really? Good problem to have.

The QB controversy in San Fran wasn’t between Kaepernick and Smith. Once he finally unleashed Kaepernick the team went to another level reaching the SB. Kaep was clearly the starter. Whole team was behind him. The QB controversy revolved more around Kaep’s beliefs and social platforms. Nothing to do with him ousting Alex Smith. Nobody had a problem with that.
