SO the question is,what is the standard that is set for Hurts to become QB1? Wins?passing yards? They have to have criteria that needs met although we don't know what that is

Intangibles

Compare that to the Eagles improvement....while already being a better team last year.  Which team should win. Did they make up the ground with those 2 picks compared to Reddick, Brown, Davis, Dean...etc?

Hard to know. I think it will be a great game.Their secondary improved, but so did our WR's. Our secondary did NOT improve and they have Theilen and JJ.Going to be tough sledding covering them both along with Dalvin

Right....but logic...starting off the better team, making more improvement, and it's our home opener.  So many reasons in Eagles favor.

So with what we got we could probably limit Cook, force them to pass, but be careful what you wish for. I'm hoping to still pick up some secondary help in FA

I wanted Booth for us LOL

And come on now...where does Cousins rank as QB?   We had the 15th best QB from last year making this huge improvement with his hard work and intangibles...plus the huge improvement with the supporting cast.

If you had to rank these 6 players..

Booth,  Cine...along with Reddick, Brown,  Davis, Dean.   Where do you put the Minnesota guys?

You are probably one of those guys making excuses for our awesome 9 wins last year.   They were legit.  Now with our additions and the other team's subtractions... 14 should be very doable.

And where did they finish last year?  And what big improvement did they make?

They signed a CB and 2 guards and Zadarius Smith OLB. They may or may not be more improved. But I do not take any wins or losses for granted. I am a firm believer that we will finish in the middle of the pack until something happens to prove me wrong. Hurts turns heads, the Defense stays healthy and collects many more sacks than a year ago or maybe our defensive backfield doesn't get torched every game....

Doesnt matter because we failed to address the secondary(again). We should be effective run stoppers, but we can lose games in the air. We got line guys, they got secondary help, you can't compare them. Saints got Olave, paired with Thomas, also formibable and no need to mention their RB either. So IMO we can be beaten in the air and alot of teams improved that area, not just us

You need to Add Smith for Minnesota along with Hairston (CB). I put us Slightly ahead based on paper. But you never play football on paper. They had a down year last year.  I do not expect to see them play as poorly this year. On the other hand we played better than most felt we would.....

Ok....since sarcasm isn't working today....I'll get to the point.

Everything I said makes logical sense for the 14 wins...absolutely 100%.

The 2 flaws... maybe we weren't a legit  9 win team better than those other teams?  Maybe then our QB won't take those logical steps to where he makes a huge step up from being the 15th best QB .. and maybe he wasn't the 15th best QB?

Bit Everything else is very logical

So...it wasn't addressed to be as good as Mills and Darby?

So,IMO if we want to help the secondary out,we need a severe pass rush, which is possible with our additions, but remains to be seen

So you were happy with our 2017 DBs at the time?  Feeling worse with Slay than Mills and or Darby?

OK where I see a flaw is that we got burned deep last year and we did ZIP to help that situation and other team added WR's. So for me I see us stuffing run games, but being weak/beaten by the air game and or RB's out of the backfield. We face some of the best in Cook,Kamara and elliiott,so although I suspect we limit those guys, the secondary will be exposed unless we can consistently get to the QB(which we don;t know yet)

The 2017 offense clicked, this one has not done that yet. Slay cannot do this alone

I need to have some of the scripts you are taking. How are they going to cover the WR's that almost every team has now? We did nothing to improve our secondary which was, arguably the worse in the league last year. Cox and Graham are old and not close to where they used to be. We drafted Davis who will help, but who helps Graham? Our LB's will improve allot. So our run defense will improve.

On Offense we need to prove we can throw the ball. Your assumption Hurts improves is based on faith no one else has, but Ham. LOL You are a funny one Joe. I almost bought your BS....

The flaw is the sarcasm went right over your head.

Ok....how did we do it with Darby and Mills....we have Slay ...way better than either.

Like I said... the flaw is absolutely in the possibility we were not really that good last year ...and the QB wasn't really starting from the 15th best spot.

LOL no I know what you're doing, but as you can see my thought process is consistent with what I have said all along

8 wins,12 wins,14 wins,it's all on Hurts. I can't see it any other way,but with our secondary we're going to have to outscore them

We have Slay to cover one guy and no one on the other side. We also have Cox and Graham 5 years older and no Long or Curry. Our Pass rush was non existent last year so yes that is an issue. We had 29 sacks in 17 games vs 38 in 16 games in 2017. In 2017 We had Jenkins and McLeod Very solid safeties. Who do we have now?

Right....amazes me it took so long.   But the rest of the stiff to me is logical.  I think we improved more than those other teams who finished with worse records in 2021.   I just don't think we were legit better in 2021, so they wouldn't really have to make up ground.   But if we were better, legit that is... then no reason we shouldn't have that 14 wins with all the other things I mentioned.   Look at the schedule advantages already...AZ no Hopkins, Pittsburgh off a bye... extra rest off a Thursday game at the right time.... GB ,Dallas and Tennessee all lost a #1 WR.  Dallas lost Wilson, GB lost Valdez Scantling on top of that.  Are late picks really going to impact in their rookie seasons that much?

Really it's all set up.  Unless the foundation is BS.

Yeah...the QB made that offense click that year...and  I agree one stud CB isn't what works best.  But the lone wolf on this board disagrees with those 2 ideas.  Probably will be coaching issue if we don't win 14.

Right...who did we have last year.   The flaw is there....we probably weren't the legit 9 win team better than all those other teams.
