This team(for once) should be exciting to watch.. Hurts needs to make the throws,ALL the NFL type throws. Lasers, rainbows, whatever is called for and he needs to do it with accuracy. The WR's cannot drop balls, they need soft hands. the O line is excellent, maybe the best in the league. if Sanders cant run behind that, then we need to go to Scott. Want to see additional work from gains. Davis can cause ALL kinds of problems on the field from many attack points. He was my #1 pick until I wussed and went with Olave. But we snagged Brown so that worked out fine. I hop Strong can work out for us also. Hurts has every tool in the box,no excuses

Nope, I said none of that. I pointed to how backloaded and Bs our contracts are by showing you 2025 numbers. I stated NBC reported(posted link)Kelce cap numbers leave us owing 18 mil after he retires this season. But making it post June 1 we will push more than half of it to 2024 cap hit.

Stine you tried to tell me Kelce, Cox, Bradbury, Hargrave and every other one year contract player will be rostered in 2025.

Yes, When I first went to the site I saw 23 players listed, but did not look at the names. AFTER you pointed that out, I realized that almost all of those Cap numbers listed for those players were bogus. None of that money will be counting towards the 2025 CAP. OVER The CAP site is not correct. To use it as verbatim is a mistake. You would need to go thru each contract to get the correct numbers. Frankly I do not have the time, but feel free........

What questions do you have?  I can look through it, not really hard,  the issue with overthecap...  it doesn't translate 100% when looking on your phone, you need a laptop to see the whole page.

I was being sarcastic to No Mas about him and his thoughts must think we are the greatest. I think we moved into the second tier in the NFC. But you wanted us to tank last year you thought us so bad. I definitely haven’t seen that much change this offseason for you to be expect to get all this now. Can’t see how you thought we were so bad last season and so good this one. You must really love these one year signings we made. Or think Jergens the backup C we drafted really moves the needle.

I agree with Peter King.... to me a C- level play from Hurts....with the 2022 schedule, should get us 12 wins and the division.   As he stated, if we knew the QB was good, we would be talking about contention with the top teams.

No Mas thinks the QB blows!  He will be the reason we aren't elite...not the top ranked OL, top 4 WR group, the good TE...etc.

Joe, it has numbers for Kelce, Bradbury, Cox and others that will not be there in 2025 due to voiding of contracts. This was the issue I was trying to get across to Ham... The 123 Mil or something figure for 2025 Cap is well over stated because of this...

Absolutely... only 2025 #s that are real, are the ones from the draft picks.   You can't go out 4 years from the other deals... either those players will be gone,or their deals will get redone.   Only one that really might stick as is,would be Brown.  Even the 2018 draft extensions,  very low probability that any of them stick as is.

Too much is made of the semantics of the cap.   It's basic, can you sign free agents or not.   The Eagles couldn't do that last year , and it got all the haters panties in a bunch...who cares.  There are teams that go years without being able to sign guys.   For us, we need drafts to stick.  You can't go from Lane Johnson to Dallas Goedert...and only have Seamulo and Barnett to show for it.    And like I said, if Hurts and Sanders bust....that's 2 drafts with only Quez Watkins to show for it.    Count all them draft picks... that's too many misses.  That's why we have holes on this roster...not because last year we couldn't sign free agents.

I’ve kind of tried to follow as things have gone along. But yeah….it’s a ton to keep track of.

It’s the signing or extending guys for five season contracts when it’s really just a one year deal. Spread out the cap hit on signing bonus.

You really loved this offseason. Last season you thought we were hot garbage. AJ, Reddick and Bradbury now have you thinking we are contending.

The one main question and disagreement stine and I had was on Kelce contract. I saw that 18 mil will still be due to Kelce if he retires after this season. They can work it so it’s post June 1 then more than half of the 18 hits on 2024 cap.

Do you see something different?

I don’t see how he can regress to C - level play and us get 12 wins. Think we probably get 4…maybe 5 wins if Hurts went down in TC out for the season.

I’m hoping we win the division. But we aren’t that clear cut more talented than everybody else. Commanders have a decent team. Their ownership and franchise issues are their main holdup. Giants got some big picks they’ve brought in. Better coaching. So they’ve improved. Dallas was much…much better than us last year. We’ve closed the gap. That’s about all I can say at this point.

Contending….is a whole other bar…IMO

12 wins and contending and Hurts is running for MVP I’d expect.

Rams and Tampa are really freaking good. Green Bay took a hit losing Adams. But still looking really good to me. Niners been a contending looking team for years. Cowboys were clearly on fire early as much as anybody. Cards withered late. Got reinforcements. Saints been right with us…but a step behind. Panthers have a good team. Vikes will be improved I’d expect.

Talk contending we could bring up all the AFC also. Are we better than any of the AFC West? Bills clearly better. Are we better than Colts, Titans, Baltimore? Probably the level we are trying to judge on. Hoping we are better than Miami, New England, Pittsburg and Cleveland.

2019 we had overpriced bargain old guys….Jackson and Jackson. But didn’t pay up on Jenkins …think we let the old Ravens DT go after he never completely recovered from off field injury. 2020 got Hargrave. Traded for Slay….when we desperately needed to make that trade at the deadline the season before. 2021 traded for AJ and picked up Reddick. Bradbury fell to us on a one year deal after the market late.

Right... no need to look ahead more than 3 years.   You can look at current cap space,  next year's cap space and the year after.  Look at who might be up for their next contract, and who is coming off.  That gives you the basic idea.

Next year there are teams that are way negative.  Players will need to be cut or restructured for those teams.  The Eagles are clear of that stuff. That was them last year.   Right now it's simple...they need to draft well these next couple of years.  Cap space is decent, but without the draft it isn't going to help much.   Which fits in exactly with the roster... you can look at it and say it needs to get younger.

They take their shot this year... and reshuffle next year, with the key move at QB.

I’d think we are looking DE, CB and S with two first next draft. Oline can’t be ignored. RB needs to be targeted…probably third or fourth round. If we lose Hargrave and Cox…we’ll have that hole. So…looking like about six holes next year to fill.

AJ,Reddick, Bradbury, White, Dean, Davis and one more year of last year's guys gaining experience....  puts us right below the top contenders.   Because IMO the QB isn't good at the 2 things I believe trump everything...seeing the field and making throws.    Otherwise yes, I believe we could contend.   But 12 wins should be expected with this schedule.  I believe the loss of key WRs really weakened our opponents... Hopkins, Adams, Cooper, Brown, Robinson... 5 of the top WRs in the league.   I think that helps us a lot.   Not much travel this year either.

Winning the weak division and a home playoff game is the next step from last year.    Should be minimum expectation.

Yes.. I think the 2023 team is going to need a lot of work.   Could also need a QB.

As you know I think Shew is the better QB for THIS TEAM. I don't think Hurts is 6 games better than Shew. I see little difference in the amount of games we win with either guy. neither is elite, Shew the more accurate passer, Hurts the better runner-pick your poison

Better coaching(LMAO) OH yeah SB BABY!!! You love how their off season went, but our blew theirs AWAAAAAAAY,but it's not enough for you??

LOL we need an ELITE QB, as in ELITE. I just don't see Hurts making that leap into the elite group. He should be improved but I think he is approaching his ceiling as a QB. So the question for me is,will that be enough? Either Strong shows us he has ELITE potential,or we look for a QB next draft. It's a fine QB class,so your dream draft team is probably not happening unless Strong shows he has an ELITE ceiling. O line can't be ignored? We got Kelces replacement in,so who on the line are you replacing with a TOP draft pick? Once again you want 5 guys with 3 picks(like we all do but keep dreaming) and if we go after a QB all those go back burner. RB does NOT need to be targeted, there are plenty of usable guys for the RBBC approach. You don't need s stud, just 3-4 solid guys,so not real concerned about that either. Scott was a surprise guy for me who is one of those solid keepers.Gainwell is fine,so I see no real "need" except to keep the young guys coming in,but I don't see that as a priority move at this point. Sanders has alot of tread on his tires because we didn't use him much,or as much as we should have. The ZERO TD's from him MUST CHANGE and it has to be THIS year for him also
