The other major thing is how vanilla will the O and D be? Think the D they really are keeping close to the vest. But they have two joint practices. So I’d expect that’s where the starters get their extra work. Siri cut practice time to almost nothing but walk through. Very bare minimum. So I’d be shocked if they play much of the significant guys in PS games. Just clearly not how Siri is approaching anything. He’s all about saving his guys.

And hey if you can teach on film and with walk throughs a I’d say it’s pretty ideal. But how are these guys getting in game shape? That’s where I’ve always thought you can’t do it Siri’s way. Guys will get injured because they don’t have their bodies ready for a whole football game.

Strong isn’t cutting it. Which is real bad for him considering this is supposed strong suit stuff. Hasn’t needed the mobility as much practicing. Turns out the Strong armed QB isn’t all that’s needed at all. Looks like you and No Mas ideas equal practice squad QB.

LMAO OH he's been here what 2 months now? Should be a seasoned veteran by now

Don’t understand why anybody would think he can’t learn to read defenses. Have to explain that to me.

Kind of good news for us. They are a major roadblock for us to get to the SB.

Yes we need to beat crap teams again with 5th string parking lot QB's LOL. Your bar is so low ants can't get under it

Vanilla is fine as long as you execute. We could run a 23 trap on offense every down, and if you get 8 years per play you don't need any other plays if you execute that ONE. Vanilla with a few sprinkles works for me

I disagree... the best QB room was Wentz and Foles.  This to me is not a good NFL QB room....  not yet anyway, all need to prove they are a QB a team can win with.

Foles and Vick had its moments. Both had some serious hit games.

That's why there are pre season games??? new guys came in,let them get acclimated to the other guys. Plenty of time to get into game shape. i think by now NFL teams know what they are doing

Who was QB 3 and could he have led the team if called upon? Overall this is a better room and there are 2 QB's we can use as trade pieces if we want to. You don't feel Shew could step in and win with this team?(I still feel he is the better QB for THIS team and if Strong pans out he could be a the steal of the draft)

Strong looks terrible by all accounts. Strong arm isn’t everything evidently….like I’ve been saying. Kid isn’t going to make it unfortunately.

Shew I’m not sure has had a good practice yet. Sounding like he went backwards this summer. Guess he went on tour on his prison bus instead of working on his craft.

Reports are he is out of his depth. Sinnett isn’t anything special. He’s making him look like a real Qb. This is the area he is strong in. Going downhill from here. He’s got no mobility. Don’t even know if his body will hold up. Pass rush going to really hurt this kid I’m afraid. Stick a fork in him.

We have zero control over the opponent. I want any victories we can achieve though. Number one priority is win the division. Get that home playoff game and a decent seeding. If you haven’t noticed each hand counts the same. No asterisks or anything. Just Win or Loss.

This is big boy football. I really don’t want to hear the excuses.

If Stafford isn’t full strength in the playoffs is that our problem? That’s a them issue. He’s old. Really used. Didn’t even think he looked great last year. They just have put together such a dynamic team Goff was holding them back. But yep, we aren’t better than them yet. Need assistance to level it out. If Brady is fine this year….I think the whole NFC could be a crap shoot. I’m totally fine with that. Love and prefer to have All Pros at every position. But right now…we are a second tier team in the NFC. Experience massively sides with the tier one guys. But I’m fine with almost any way we get to playoff wins and if we get to the SB by any means I’m taking it. Just don’t care if anybody else loses anybody to injury. Been on the bad side of injuries plenty as a fan of this team. No crying about it in the NFL. Everybody is a Pro.

But first things first. Respect division rivalry. It’s real. You been watching football too long to not understand this. No matter how down and out anybody is….they will come correct against their rivals.

I think the offense should actually push forward. The defense is the more mystery of things. Think our early opponents have no idea how to gameplan our D yet. Unless Gannon super softies everything again. God I hope not.

Plenty of time to get injured trying to push through a full game you aren’t ready for. That’s why I thought these guys practiced like they did all these years.I understand walkthroughs being ideal teaching for the whole season. But can’t replace getting your body in game shape. Think we will suffer from this cupcake practice schedule Siri is running. Maybe won’t get as many soft tissue injuries in walk throughs. But we’ll see if it doesn’t bite us early on in the real games where guys gotta be ready to go four quarters. Playing football isn’t like running track or lifting weights.

By now? So you are saying Siri and Rosie have things figured out better than Bill Walsh, Don Shula…….I think plenty of those old school coaches forgot more about football than these guys will ever know.

Kelce intangibles are through the roof. That’s what i see makes the difference. His grit, determination, leadership, fortitude. He isn’t the biggest, strongest or fastest.

All of that mixed with his intelligence and knowledge of the game.

Lol yea because just under 4900 yards and 41 TDs is just terrible

or the just under 1200 yards in the playoffs with 9 tds.

As for really old he is 34 for comparison sake the QB we targeted in the off-season Wilson is 33. This isn’t 20 years ago QBs are playing into there late 30s early 40s more regularly.

There is a difference in having zero control over opponents and realizing we didn’t beat anyone worth talking about last season.

We beat zero winning teams last season and were completely outclassed by an injury riddled Bucs team in the playoffs.

So wanting to get wins be quality teams this season seems like a reasonable request and the logical progression we should want to see. We should expect to beat the bad teams now we have to show we can beat good ones

Really from what I’ve seen all our QB have looked terrible. But I’m far less concerned about the 3rd/4th string UDFA then our starter.

Exactly…intangible. You can’t put a measuring tape on that! Special special guy!

Yeah, let’s think specifically about Stafford. Thrown a ton….but never accomplished anything. Is he the reason they won it all? I don’t really think so. Think they’ve been stacked and Goff was just too terrible to get anything done. They almost even got him there. I watch thise games of the Rams. He missed tons of stuff. But they were just so good O and D.

  • Author

So they kind of set a ‘bar’ of sorts. How much can you stack a team and still not win it all because the QB holds you back? Then what’s the minimal passer you need to get a stacked team to claim what’s easily theirs.

Many question whether Wilson is suffering a decline. Just like Fletch. Get older you gotta really work for everything that much harder. I’m still not that old yet….but I can imagine.

I call straight BS! Outclassed by a vet Brady lead team can’t be construed like you are making it. We were raw. Not talented enough. Exposed in every way. But hanging those two World Beaters at DT in the middle screwed us. Our Oline should be strength. But we got owned on every level. ST. d.O.coaching.experience. We only had like two thirds of money to play with last season. Should have been the worst team in the league. Guys overachieved. Had the will and fortitude to fight after 2-5. Those are the guys I can ride with. Whatever fair weather players….give me the guys that stand up when everything looks lost. We got something there!
