You’re welcome to try and spin how good we utilized that fourth round pick on Quinn. I’ll listen.

IDK if we get more. I'm looking at DT,edge,ROT. What say you guys?

Hard to say before we sign FAs. That part comes first. Bradberry gone. Both starting S are FA. Both starting LB are FA. RB. Two DT Cox and fletch and a DE Brandon Graham(not counting band aid vets). So who you pay? Think Rosie has to read all sides of the tea leaves. What available outside FA options versus keeping in house FA versus draft options. Potential vet cap casualties. Trade options.

The way the Saints pick is looking to unfold(especially according to No Mas)….I think we just gotta BPA that stud that is still on the board. Get that most elite player. I’ve been seeing it as Dline guy. Two or three CB guys to think on. They are both like 6’2” CBs. So does one of them blow us away on a Sauce Gardner level? Oline I’m seeing one or two top guys. But I just struggle to see that pick.

Last draft and off season was really the only year we gave tools on defense to either Gannon or Schwartz. Gannon inherited a bunch of old guys and 3th string DB's(other than Slay who was basically the first move on defense). So let's cut Gannon a little slack until we get some younger guys in here. We lead the league in takeaways so it's not all that bad is it?

He was a hot HC candidate last season. Hard to see him not actually getting that job this time around. I practically already consider him gone. Already brought in Fangio to supervise…or what have you. So to be real if you’re speaking of bringing in young guys for Gannon…not happening. He got Milt, Davis, Tupolulto, Dean. But yeah he took over a D that wasn’t in his image. 4-3 when he wants 3-4. Maybe aspects of 4-3 Under. All in a world of Nickle D anyway. Maddox, Slay aren’t third string DBs. Epps is a proven legit starting level S. Had McLeod…he was serviceable smart team vet. Gannon brought in a bunch of questionable guys. Loaded up on young more unknown DBs. We carried their dead weight through last season. Payoff didn’t happen. Think we already moved on from most of them. McPherson I’m not giving up on. Been good on ST at least.

Edwards is a huge leader of our D that Gannon inherited.

Gannon should get credit for unlocking and unleashing Edwards.

But yeah, Dline unless a Corner blows us away.

I don’t know about you guys but my expectations have grown for this season. No Mas has calculated we all but sowed up the one seed already. That means a bye and home field throughout. So that has to come with making the SB expectations now, right?

IDK I'd like to keep as much of this secondary as possible. Get more young guys prepared, but it's a nice draft for linemen

How good they utilized that 4th is one word…football. That's the chance you take on any player. Don't we all know he was only added as a rotational piece? After losing Barnett had to do something so the DL could get breathers.

Yeah I was reading that it's not all that easy to change fro LOT to ROT,so I was looking for guys ho play ROT now and there aren't alot of them

if it matters I like antonio johnson(S) with pick 30-32. it's close enough to round 2 Howie may go for it. That's really the only non lineman I have considered so far

Right, like I said we didn't do much until last year as far as the defense goes. Howie always expecting miracles from 2nd rate players. Slay was the first legit guy we've had in eons. I also don't know the payoff hasn't happened. of course we;d start Bradberry and CJG and SLAY because we paid them. Not to say the new guys haven't panned out.One could emerge from that group. Hard to know because they don't play

I would think so. last game was just stellar as far as execution goes(other than stupid penalties). We avoided their strength and attacked their weakness. I'm really looking forward to the next Dullaz game. I want to beat them with Dak, Zeke and everyone else,so they can STFU. Wondering if they go get OBJ. IDK if they have the loot

Felt like making a move because Rosie had to be seen as doing something at the deadline. Gannon’s focused more on LBs. Why I say it’s hard to be a Jack-of-all-Trades fielding every type of player. Pay Reddick as the big FA. Drafted his two rush LB backups with that investment. Milton can play DT and DE…invested that third in him. I liked Tarron Jackson. Thought we let him get away. He was right in adding to the rotation week one this year. Plus I just didn’t like the Barnett reach again anyway. Just stretched things overpaying him last season on that fifth year option. So add in all that waste on Barnett under Gannon. Football is football. Results are the results. Results from Barnett and Quinn were terrible under this regime. Think we can just log that under fact at this point(yet my simple points tend to not be everybody else’s plenty of the time here) if I can be bold enough to speak for everyone’s point of view.

He set a sack record in Chicagp with 18.5. He is old now however. I think he had 7 with us before he got hurt?

Just too early for me to stick my foot in the ground about a finished 2023 Big Board yet. Right now, the difference between pick 7 and 11 to me is huge. At 7 just take the stud Dline BPA …like I said ….unless one corner just blows us away. 11….so much more difficult. But just so much more I have to consider to get locked in on my whole draft outlook. I’m still in rough draft mode really. Just really loving the top few Dline guys as elite. They excite me the most. Be jumping for joy over the trade if we are in position to add that level talent.

I believe I’ve noticed several top Oline guys this draft have moved around the line. Think more like G to T stuff. But I lm not prepped at the level to really talk about draft options just yet. But think I have a feel for the several top Oline guys. So I gotta have one really consistently climb from here out to make me consider one top ten. Not sure I tunnel vision RT though. Mailata looks good at RT. So if a guy is absolute stud LT I’d be open minded. At this point Oline with Saints pick would disappoint me.

I have Murphy and Bresee. I'm hoping the Saints pick goes to 4. If that happens we can trade back and still get one of them and additional pick(s). yeah it's early, but scouts look at drafts next and the one after that to see which positions are deep. Murph we could only go back 1-2 spots, Bresee maybe 3-4 spots(as I see it now). Just getting some idea where they go. There will be movement after the bowl games and of course after the combine

I wouldn't move Mailata. Why fix what ain't broke? Just looking for the heir to Lane. He could probably play 1-2 more years IDK,so ROT could be off the table for now,but we've seen how badly we struggle when he is out and I don't want to start the "musical chairs" on the O line

Used to be LT had to pass block so much more. RT was your run blocker. Think that has really evolved. Some players seem to just be football players. Almost seems they just will be successful most anywhere. A guy played LT all his life going to have all that muscle memory stomping out left. So opposite leg and outside arm can take time. Even see how guys prefer LG or RG….which is much less to deal with than T.

My thinking here is maybe Kelce's last year if we hoist the Lombardi(but we will face alot tougher teams than we have played so far). I would like to work Jurgens in at C next year if that happens, draft lanes possible replacement for the following year. Jurgens will have a year in. work the newbies in 1 position at a time(if possible)

Yeah that's why i wanted a pick that plays ROT right now. Getting a LT, you have a learning curve to make that move to things they aren't used to doing. It's possible,we've seen it happen, but i read alot from LT's that it's very difficult and alot can't do it,or if they do they are "ok" but hardly a replacement for a pro bowler

This is the big picture puzzle to consider. Pay S Ceedy Deuce and Epps. Or pay LB Edwards and White. But gotta consider guys like Cincy All Pro S FA. Or you look at how high that investment is and look at drafting a S high. Seems they have been there strong in most all these drafts for several years. Liked Juan Thornhill that Chiefs took and has started whole career. Liked Winfield looking good for Bucs. Five  S that look good went last draft before pick 45-ish. So maybe just grab the third round comp pick letting CGJ go bank elsewhere. Bradberry likely gains us a fourth round comp himself. So could easily see investing in young DBs in this draft. Really is a need.

But the rub is these guys work well together. It would be better I believe to change out 1 guy a year instead of in one fell swoop(see what I did there?😁)

Seumalo and I think Opeta are FAs. So a RG that has RT potential makes plenty of sense. Driscoll is that guy now. Opeta I feel is a legit starter level G. I’m likely higher on him than most anybody else. But explained how I feel about Stout. So getting him a super talented investment is high level of success rate it feels.
