If I didn’t truly believe Hurts has shown what he fully is already, I’d be way more in board with another year of him. But honestly, I don’t see where this big leap could come from.

I would give (after a year riding the proverbial pine) the following a shot first: Ridder (arm strength, great size, pre-snap reads better than anyone else in this class; inconsistent with accuracy), Pickett (most polished and pro ready guy of the bunch; midget hands and wears two gloves), and Howell (accurate, quick release, can throw from multiple arm slots; needs to improve his pocket awareness). All three of these guys have the athleticism to make something happen when a play breaks down, but aren’t QBs looking to run if the hot read isn’t there. All 3 have strengths and weaknesses of course, and they’re unknown commodities at the NFL level, but all 3 have the potential to eclipse Hurts based on their arms and decision making. 

I’m not sold on Willis (may just be a more athletic Hurts), Corral (not only short but fragile looking), and Strong (statue with a degenerative knee condition).

His knee will be fine.

A prospect isn't better unless they produce on the field. Trubisky was a high pick, Darnold was a high pick, Daniel Jones was a high pick . . .

There isn't a single QB in this draft I'd take over Hurts - not one has shown anything to suggest they'll be more than a marginal NFL starter.

There we disagree.   BTW, Hurts hasn't shown himself to be anything more than a marginal starter either... and frankly, that's debatable given his inability as a passer.

So we cut Cox to save 16 million in cap space but we are signing bonus to a 1 year 15 million dollar deal? That makes zero sense.

Why bother re-signing Cox for another year at $15M? He's 31, and not the player he was. Let him go chase another ring in KC/LA etc.

Just move on now, sign Matt Ioannidis (3 years younger) for half that price and draft Devonte Wyatt in R1.

I know this is a stretch but perhaps it is easier to trade him now?  I'm not perturbed if he stays, always liked Fletch.  Also, what are the future implications to the cap in 2023/2024?

I think it's safe to say that running backs get injured more than pass-first quarterbacks. I wonder why that is. And if it's smart for a $20 million+/year quarterback to run any more than absolutely necessary when a $2 million running back can probably pick up yards more reliably than a running quarterback.

He was cut and any team interested in him could have just signed him... but now they are going to trade for him?   Seems quite illogical.

Indy missed the playoffs. Arizona didn't win a playoff game. We didn't win a playoff game. Baltimore missed the playoffs. Tennessee didn't win a playoff game. New Orleans didn't make the playoffs. Baltimore by the way, was 9th overall in pass attempts last year. 

San Fran made noise in the playoffs, but not because of some master plan to run the ball when the other team isn't expecting pass. Dallas did what Dallas does in the playoffs, loses in embarrassing fashion (as the Chiefs showed exactly what to do with 13 seconds left). Then, GB had an unbelievable ST meltdown of a game, again, nothing to do with SF choosing to run more than pass. In the NFCCG, that vaunted rushing attack produced 20 carries for 50 yards. When they had to pass, they couldn't, and they lost.

Looking at the top 10 passing attempts last year:

TB, KC, LAC, Pitt, Dallas, LV, Buff, Miami, Baltimore, LAR

So, 7 of the top 10 teams made the playoffs. Hardly supports your theory that teams with bad records have to throw much more because they're always behind.

@VaBeach_Eagle @HazletonEagle   I'd be much more comfortable using Venmo.  Like others have said, it's simple and there are no fees associated with transactions.  Use it extensively when buying stuff for my car or reimbursing friends and family if we are all going in on things.

It is, no big moves coming this year as we unload cap issues and struggle with poor qb play. wasting another year of development and production from guys like Devonta. 

But the bill is due, I fully expect them to move some significant draft capital into next year from this year, because they have shown their hand. There isn't a top QB prospect to be had, and the Free agency QB carosel isn't working out for them as no one wants to come to philly. Sooooo they have to try and find one in the draft. 

And since we all know how *cough cough* "GOOD" Howie is at drafting, it could be years before we get a good QB and can compete for the division again. And any really good draft picks we do get lucky on, will look to get out as soon as they can.

No really good players want to play for a team without a TOP QB
