Lmao

Mike's funny as sheet.  Him and Zucker are the best.  Whatever the GOP pre-approved talking points are, they're all over it.  Word for word.  The amount of talk radio/Fox nightly line up that dude watches must be out of control.  My guess is at least 50% of his day is spent listening/watching some a-hole repeat the same inane talking points.

There’s a guy named Todd Starnes who does a talk radio show from 12 to 3 Eastern. I listened for a little bit yesterday and he was raving like a lunatic.  Then he took a few calls and those were insane too.

The rights' push back on this is so stupid, it hurts.  I was listening to an interview on the way into work with a woman supporting Trump outside Mar-o-lago and she literally said the words "The FBI shouldn't be able to enter people's homes".  It's as if they're just learning what law enforcement does.

They literally enter people's homes every day.  And in some cases, it's hugely problematic when they do things like murder an innocent person (Breonna Taylor), but of course these people could give two F's about that, they just care that their favorite politician is being investigated for crimes he's publicly admitted to committing

You think this search was politically motivated?

The guy was holding in to classified material he didn't have a right to, was told over and over that he needed to return it all and did not.

Any other US citizen commits that and their searched months ago. It's only the deference given to a former president that prevented that, but the DOJ is only going to wait so long.

As far as I know, Trump has not revealed the details of the warrant nor has he released the receipt of what was taken away, which would very quickly make or break the claim that this was politically motivated.

Garland is not going to authorize this sort of search unless they're damn sure they have every justification for it.

It has been reported it was filed under seal, so even his lawyers don't know yet.

This is SOP.

The search warrant application process happens in secret in order to avoid tipping off the person whose property may be searched. Any court records related to the warrant application would be sealed.

Those records typically remain under seal unless and until a criminal case is brought, and even then, authorities may try to keep the affidavit from public view. The person whose property is being searched is entitled to see the warrant, but not the affidavit.

So what secrets did he sell to the Saudi’s during his LIV tournament that forced this?

Pretty sure he has now been provided with a copy of the warrant, along with an itemized list of what was taken.

No. When you are served a warrant you get a copy of the warrant.

The warrant and the receipt given to Trump's legal team (from what I understand Trump wasn't even there, he was in NYC, which is assuredly by design) indicating what was removed could be produced by Trump himself.

He won't though, because it was 100% by the book. I say that because there's no way Garland and the DoJ are going to leave any space for the right to drive the wedge deeper than their reflexive lies already have.

No it was to find evidence on suspected criminal acts. I already explained to you how taking down an organized crime boss works.

Oh ok but subpoenas dont quite grab headlines right?

You actually believe this was such an urgent situation, that our national security was actively at risk on a random Monday in August?   Action had to be taken right away to prevent Melanias wardrobe from spilling all of our national secrets? Sure, Jan!

Of course there's going to be a political benefit.

Dont you dare connect those obvious dots, though, John Snow.

This is like the 73rd time Trump has been investigated.  This is it, though, guys.

Trump lawyer who was at Mar-a-Lago for FBI search describes the scene

Over the next eight hours, Halligan said 30-40 FBI personnel conducted the search. There were a handful dressed in suits, but most wore t-shirts, cargo pants, masks and gloves. Halligan estimates 10-15 FBI vehicles went in and out of the property, including a Ryder truck.

She didn't witness boxes or documents being loaded onto the truck, though she did not dispute FBI investigators took material from Mar-a-Lago — Halligan just didn't see it.

Sources told CBS News that the FBI did, in fact, take boxes and documents from Mar-a-Lago, but no electronics. Two sources said that some, if not all, of the documents are potentially classified records.

The National Archives and Records Administration retrieved 15 boxes of records, some of which contained classified material, from Mar-a-Lago in mid-January. Monday's search appears to be part of that Justice Department investigation.

Nonetheless, she insisted that the government's search "was an appalling display of abuse and power — complete overkill." She also asserted that "if they needed documents, they could have asked. There's never been an issue with compliance." Halligan said the search came as a "huge surprise."

This is the best part. Why didn't they just ask?

Yes, there is a huge issue with compliance, since you were not supposed to take classified documents, and 15 boxes of them were already found in your possession.

You were supposed to turn everything over then. Did you? Clearly not, and yet, there is surprise that they didn't ask.

Mike is back for another hard cry. More salt, please!

so in your warped mind, is there any crime Trump could commit that the DoJ should try to prosecute?

or is he just above the law?

In most cases but I've read in this case it was under seal so they have to file for it. Who knows?

Do you have a link that he has?

So the warrant wasn't under seal as well?

No.

The affidavit supporting the warrant is under seal. Trump has a copy of the warrant. He's entitled to it, and he has it. He also has an itemized list of what was taken.

My bet is he'll never release it. Because it will show he's no victim.

This is the equivalent of jaywalking for a former POTUS.

Dont be naive, think critically.

2 minutes ago, Diehardfan said:

It was under seal and still is. This just means it can't be released to the public, at least not by the government.
