FBI Raids Mar-A-Largo but ignores Pop Pop's much more egregious violations

Just checked the docket. Nothing new from Trump or DOJ -- just a bunch of motions supporting the unsealing from news orgs (motions to intervene, but basically just supporting DOJ):

I wouldn't have been surprised to see this DoJ not prosecute it further if they were confident they had all the classified material.

The manner they conducted the case suggests they were trying to minimize public knowledge.

Right, if anything they were too deferential rather than not enough.

You think they go through records like that in five minutes? It is time-consuming.  AND they’ve asked for them back already.

No, they absolutely couldn't have, but if they were looking for something that sensitive protocol is to just walk away for a few months telling them to throw a padlock on there like a gym locker? I'd think they would have taken them right then or at least not waited months.

OK. I'll try this again. They issues a subpoena that said return all classified documents. They also said until you have complied and returned, please do a better job securing the documents. Trump and his team returned documents after some time (because, you know, you get more than 5 minutes to comply with a subpoena). So they wanted the boxes secured better while Trump and his team were identifying documents that needed to be returned.

After that, an informant told them that Trump didn't return all of the docs. So they got a search warrant and went to look for themselves.

It's really not that complicated.

He is obviously just asking questions here, give him a break.

So, basically, we don't know if it's true. But if it is, it's everyone else's fault except Trump.

Fault isn't what I'm talking about. I'm questioning if that's what they were really after and if it was what an epic crap show they had in handling it.

Common sense says they had another look around in June with a small team who were completely unprepared to spend days sifting through boxes of documents, found some things he shouldn't have in his possession, and left to report back. They had him secure it in the meantime.

The FBI/DOJ, again ask for the return of everything by way of subpoena. At this point Trump is getting special treatment. We know that during this time Trump and his attorneys' relationship with the investigation soured. It's possible that this where the informant might have come forward.

They were left with no choice, at that point, to seek a search warrant. All of that absolutely takes some time.

Huh? Trump was the first person to announce it publicly on his Truth Social account.

Podcast I listen to (I forget which one I listen to a bunch serially) indicated that Trump - who was in NY when the warrant was served - knew in the morning when the search started. It was almost or completely concluded when it broke, and they indicated it was someone at Mar-A-Lago who finally recognized what happened that caused it to start getting out.

Maybe that's not true. Maybe it's true but Trump then made his statement to get ahead of the inevitable at that point.

Yep, completely oblivious to his own admission that limp d**k Trump had 4 years to do the deed and failed.

Didnt Trump take out al Baghdadi, al Rimi, and an Iranian general?

FFS, youre just naturally stupid arent you?

No, it's not complicated. They were now after super double top secret files that were vital to our national security and were shown a room full of boxes where they could have been. Remember, it's super top secret and our nation is at risk for them being there....so they walked away and told them to put a gym locker on them and let a few months go by. They got a warrant and exigency is being argued...so they waited 72 hours to serve it. That doesn't line up unless you are an idiot or they handled it very poorly.

But again...they aren't just after small documents. They are after the things people have been freaking out about the last 24 hours. Our nation was at risk, right? It's not about him getting special treatment or any of the rest. Secure them in the meantime? These were of the highest security clearance and they said put a gym locker on it? I call BS.

He was busy taking out an iranian general

Let me know when flesh suit Biden has the stones for that.

Again, they probably didn't have a full picture of what Trump had in June. So it would make sense the urgency comes after someone tips them off about the specifics of what he had.

Then why are you unable to comprehend that the DOJ was NOT onsite to see a room of super duper secret documents?

After the last go around, an informant told them the president was LYING when he said he turned everything over.

They got a warrant and went onsite.

If things were there that sensitive to national security then asking nicely and allowing them to remain was handling it poorly. If they got a warrant and sat on it for 72 hours exigency is off the table.

Yeah, but the important part is the time it took the FBI to recover those documents, how many coffee breaks they took while they were searching the house and what drawers they may have opened to recover them.

Then that's a problem as well. Files that sensitive go missing and nobody knows? So they get tipped off and seek a warrant and then wait 72 hours? No ops plan to serve it immediately knowing now that they are in fact going after things that sensitive? You all can give them a free pass but I call BS on their part, which doesn't alleviate him for having them.

Come on man.

In June the investigators were shown where some documents were kept, but were given the boxes of documents containing classified material and that was it. They weren't there to search through cabinets, they were given boxes and shown how documents were stored in the basement. That's it.

They had taken Trump at his word that the boxes given were the remaining documents. They clearly weren't. And it wasn't just a few missed documents, at least 10 additional boxes were found Monday.

Trump gave the DoJ every reason to believe he had no intention of fully complying. So an unannounced search by the FBI was the best way to ensure that highly classified material wasn't horded.

It all goes back to Trump and his penchant for deceit and operating outside the rules of the position and laws of the nation.

THE PERSON WITH THE FREE PASS, IS YOU, FOR TRUMP.

That's the problem. You care NOTHING about the law. You care about a snake oil salesman.
