No lead is safe with this guy, none. The sad thing? There is such a dearth of starting pitching in the league that some team will overpay him well over $150 million. Saw an article from BR insider that nola would still get 7 years $175 mil so basically $25 mil per. Ohtani was estimated at 10 years $520 mil. If you were planning on paying hoskins 18-20 mil before the injury and nola gets $25 might as well spend the 7-9 mil more to get Ohtani who’s a better pitcher and hitter 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He was a 3-4 starter. He also has had some luck he’s faced a lot of really bad teams in his starts this year. That said they offered him $15 mil for a year and he declined cause Tampa wanted to give him 3 for $40 with year three guaranteed at $18 mil. He misses 2-3 months every year. Besides last night which they weren’t nearly as bad as i thought they’d be, they’ve actually are stepping up and getting going. Nola and yhe 5th spot in the rotation are killing this team.
