Then he shouldn’t have started walker tonight. And he shouldn’t have given a horse who pitches best going every 4 days, an extra day. And he should let his relievers go more than one inning when they are on fire, and he needs to designate a closer. His pizza poor managing was hidden in the coast half when the team was in fire, but it shows now. He should have shuffled this line up long ago. Bohm shouldn’t be hitting 4th right now. Casty and JT need to move up.
 

That’s all just my opinion and surely arguable, but effing BS, is when fans pay all that money to go to a game and have Thompson throw in the towel, in the 4th inning. It’s not how Philly sports is. We are the Fight’n Phils, not the give up when we are down Phils.

At this point you rather them blow through the bullpen with a big series versus Atlanta coming up and out themselves at a disadvantage? Yeah the damage is already done by the stupidity to start Walker. So at this point you don’t want to compound the damage already done. 

On second thought, we are going to the game on Friday, save some for then. 

Here's a simple quick question....why in god's name do they keep trotting Walker out there?  I mean Abel, McGarry, anyone in AAA or AA would be a better option.  And at least we can see if a youngin can make it up here......

Walker blows. But makes this sadder is the offense being absolutely pathetic. Arrighetti has 54 pitches through 5 innings with 8 Ks. That is about 11 pitches per inning and he’s given up two BB. You have to be really awful at the plate to strikeout 8 of 17 batters and yet the pitcher only has 54 pitches through 5.

Won’t admit they threw money down the drain. This is a sunk cost example. The investment is already sunk. At this point just compounding the situation by continuously running him out there.

if they dont acknowledge that we need a third starter, closer and a bullpen arm, they are basically wasting talent and winning nothing until they retire or leave.

They have a third starter if Ranger is healthy. Not getting much better than what Ranger is capable of giving you as a 3rd starter. Plus you got painter coming next year. Bullpen is a different story cause I’m guessing we all probably didn’t think Alvarado would be as awful this year as he has been. If he was fine then their bullpen is actually set.

The Walker situation is completely Dombrowski. He doesn’t want to admit it was a mistake and a bad contract. Thomson is just given what he’s given and told to run him out there. I don’t see Thomson saying to the Phillies brass and FO, he needs to start. This is a FO/Dombrowski decision 

I guess two nice wins was enough and just chalked this one up for a loss.

I can’t imagine being a player in this team knowing Walker sucks and feeling good about going into a game. Like it’s pretty deflating knowing he’s going to get blasted and only way we can win is if we explode for runs.

i know most athletes will say they can win every game doesn’t matter but i can’t imagine psychologically there isn’t a letdown seeing him.  

Walker’s stat line today is ridiculous - 6 ER, 13 hits, ZERO strikeouts in 6 innings

Alvarado is broken. Maybe he is gone so they can clone him like in that movie the 3rd wheel or whatever with Schwarzenegger and the mustard guy. Alvarado will come back better

which is bad because we have to rely on nola and wheeler in the playoffs and that's going to be one and done in the playoffs, not unless ranger comes back to his early season form which i doubt.

Also not sure why Michael Mercado is on this roster. Much better to have allard or covey than Mercado.
