August 28, 20241 yr Arighetti is not even a good pitcher that's what makes it even worse. The team clearly doesn't give a F today because they saw Thomson send Walker out there who gives up six runs a game.

I think the other part is they’re just not very consistent at hitting. You saw it in the series. Game one they didn’t hit particularly well. They only scored 3 runs. Most of the night they weren’t good. Today they scored zero and looks like they couldn’t hit crap. The only game where they looked decent was game 2. And you can make the argument it really looked good because Castellanos hit a 3 run homer

I’m not a Walker fan, don’t think he should be in the rotation, and think he’s generally going to let them down from here on out. But the sheer law of averages and the nature of some players, particularly pitchers, delivering a strong last gasp with their backs against the wall…I bet everyone gets a surprise tomorrow. A too little too late out of nowhere really good start. So this was not my all time best take.

Like it’s pretty deflating knowing he’s going to get blasted and only way we can win is if we explode for runs. i know most athletes will say they can win every game doesn’t matter but i can’t imagine psychologically there isn’t a letdown seeing him. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I kind of think the teamwide showing today was a bit of a statement on the decision to start walker.
August 29, 20241 yr Lead is going to be down to 5. But positive i won 25 bucks on a parlay where Astros and Braves won

I also think they just aren’t consistent at hitting. This series they scored 8 runs. Add on Monday they were bad most of the night at the plate but pulled it out. Feels like this team just can’t put together more than 1-2 games where they hit well in a row before not being able to hit

August 29, 20241 yr Back to the 5 game lead now. 5 has always felt like the point when one is "in touch" when chasing so Atlanta comes in hot and thinking they have a shot. They were 5 back about a week ago and we responded. This is crunch time for the division. Get 2 and we end up with 10-7 in this chunk which was what we said was acceptable. Get 3 and things look great.
August 29, 20241 yr Phillies 0-9 in Walker's last 9 starts.....sheer stupidity to have continued to put him out there.....

What’s funny is advanced analytics have indicated Lopez should have significantly worse numbers and yet he just keeps on cruising. Reminds me of JA Happ in 2008-2010. Where the analytics (especially 2009 and 2010 before being traded) he’s going to tail off but somehow he never did in his time with us. Face both this series (Friday and Sunday). And somehow i imagine we lose to either Morton or fried.

In that case, things would get very dicey in terms of winning the East though we would still have a healthy lead over the Mets for the last WC spot.
