October 9, 20241 yr Honestly, the MOST Philly thing that could happen would be for them to somehow pull it out tonight and then come back and lose it at home in game, with Wheeler pitching another gem and the offense shtting the bed
October 9, 20241 yr Weren't we something like 16 games better than the Mets when we faced them in London? What the heck has happened since then!?

We are 3-14 in the last 17 starts by nola and wheeler vs. the Mets.

Manuel was mistaken with his insistence on wanting to beat the best. The objective should have been to do what was necessary to win the Pennant and WS.

October 9, 20241 yr I'm watching Detroit/ Cleveland and thinking how much better it would be for the Phillies to have Matt Vierling on the team as opposed to Bohm or even that chump Hays. Vierling can play the outfield as well as 3rd base, which he is playing today.

I’d have to go look at all the trades that Dombrowski made in his tenure. But none of them I think are outstanding or great. Best might be Alvarado because Alvarado was pretty freaking good for two years.

Walker, Turner, extending Nola, extending Wheeler, Castellanos, and Schwarber. Schwarber is the only one out of those that has been worth the money. We will see with Nola, but come on, I think we all know how that contract is going to age. I don't mind the Wheeler extension since it's only 3 years. Alvarado was a good trade, but then he trades for guys like Rodolfo Castro, Syndergaard, Kyle Gibson, Ian Kennedy, and Austin Hays. Just brutal. We all need to pray that this overhaul of the minor leagues pans out because if not, the next decade is gonna be brutal with over the hill/ overpaid veterans with little to no young players to supplement. I hope that Painter, Crawford, Tait, and Miller all work out.
