Through the first two months they played 3 playoffs teams.

I felt since they went to Colorado and San Francisco that they have never found their consistency on offense again. Whatever happened from that road trip onward their offense has been good for two or three games and then will be bad with runners in scoring position for about a week to 10 days. It’s been consistently like that since they went on that road trip. The bullpen is more of a surprised to me. Everyone besides estevez has been a disaster

I said at the time of that trade and I said it this year, this was less about Logan O’Hoppe being good. This was about you don’t trade a top 75 prospect and a trade chip like that to get a player that you have to fix to be ann every day player. That is a trade asset that is very valuable that you could’ve cashed in on a better more proven every day player. Go look at the deadline this year. No top 75 prospects by baseball America were traded. The Phillies traded one for a guy that had a high strikeout rate and couldn’t hit left-hand pitching. And you sit here 2.5 years later with the same issues, he’s basically useless the next game as the Mets are starting a left-handed pitcher

October 9, 20241 yr Going to find out a lot about this team tomorrow. They’re either gonna roll over and die like cowards or they’re gonna come out with their season on the line and play well. If they roll over and die, then you need to make massive changes. Because they have gone out with a whimper against the diamondbacks the last two games, the Astros pretty much the last three games and then this series it would be the last two games. At some point in time you need a big time shake up. I am not talking about just the high price guys. to me this is Brandon marsh you cannot trust. He can’t hit left-handed pitching. That is massive issue in the playoffs that you have to sit him because he can’t hit left-hand pitching. You don’t have guys to platoon with him that are good enough. And it is very hard to hope that two guys are good playing one position. bohm I think they’ve already willing to move on from him. I think they look at it as this is probably the best you’re gonna get from him and he has all these pouting and negative anyics. I think they don’t wanna pay him in 2 years at 30 either. It took a lot of balls to bench bohm yesterday for a guy in Sosa who hasn’t played well in two months. I think Stott is the only one that will bring back and confidently bring back. Because you don’t know exactly what he is yet. Because 2022 he struggling this first year. And then he had a great 2023. And then 2024 he kind of regress. you need to find out what he is next year before Aiden Miller gets called up. turner, harper, schwarber and castellanos are likely back unless Middleton is willing to eat last 2 years of Castellanos. Frankly Castellanos would be fine if he was hitting 6-7 in the lineup and you had a better cleanup hitter. frankly realmuto is done. He’s in the last year of his deal. Probably getting him and Marchan next year. The year after you just have to hope Tait is ready to platoon with someone like Marchan then take over by 2027. bullpen has been a disaster. They need to add arms. I think Hoffman is still good. But strahm is a 7th inning guy or a bridge from 6-7 to the 8th. Frankly think Kerkering is a head case. High leverage situations with more pressure he always implodes with 2 outs. Not sure that changes. Feels very Dominguez-esque the last 2 years of Dominguez. Estevez is fine if he’s gets a ok contract but they badly need a big time arm like a miller at the backend. They have nice pieces but not a guy like that. rotation is likely fine if wheeler maintains this level and painter is what we think. Frankly Ranger needs to get his ass in shape so he can throw an entire year.
