Ertz was used more as a weapon. Goedert has been used for everything but not as big of an impact as a weapon since Hurts has Brown and Smith. Difficult to compare IMO

    Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Doubt we can afford Seumalo but who knows. Do we assume Kelce is retiring and Jergens steps in? If not can Jergens play RG?

white can walk. Time for Dean.

Chauncey has become a must sign and solves safety for the most part.

bradberry too expensive. Draft a cb to battle with Jobe and McPherson

i was down on BG but the man balled out this year and is a team legend. Keep

Hargrave is a priority keep to me. Eliminates the need to draft another DT high with cox money of the books

You and I are on the same page.

Regarding Seumalo, so much depends on what Kelce does.  I’m hoping that he comes back for one more season.  He is clearly having so much fun, and the quality of his play has never been better.  He is probably HOF bound now, but a pair of SB appearances to end his career would only increase the likelihood.  If Kelce stays for one more season, the decision on how to use Jurgens looms large.

With that said, there are three possible options for RG.  1) Seumalo, 2) Jurgens, or 3) a player take in the Draft to be the heir apparent at RT when Lane retires.  Regarding 3) I’m intrigued by the potential of Broderick Jones from Georgia.  He seems to me to be an excellent fit to Stoutland University.

Dillard is limited to play only the left side.  Trade him for picks and draft a RT high to develop behind Johnson.  If Seumalo leaves, to replace him would not be too difficult with the back-up already on the roster.

Kelce and Graham, Cox too, probably would retire with a SB win against KC.  They already have long careers and members of the '17 SB team.  Quite a stellar resume to call it a career.

It would be nice to beat AR and his team in 2 weeks.  While he has done good things as a HC with the Eagles, he could not bring home the ultimate trophy.  Beating him will close his chapter and the Eagles have moved on to something better.

Dillard's contract is up after this season.  He's a UFA.  The Eagles declined his option.

Like most of you I also find myself in foreign territory with how I feel about the game and this team.

Definitely having a Lombardi in the bag, and just having a #1 seed who plays like it, its made all the difference.

In 2017 I was just riding the wave until the SB, then it got real and I was super nervous.

This time around, Im still riding the wave and I know the Eagles are better than the Chiefs.

Our path to victory is broader than the Chiefs' path.  The Chiefs will need the game to go a specific way to win, whereas the Eagles have a few different scenarios that could play out as a W

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 27-17

MVP: Haason Reddick (3 sacks, FF)

Stringing on 6 other guys to just hire Jeff Saturday anyway. Classic.

What a list.

He's currently 34-1 for MVP on Fan Duel right now. Pretty good value if you like it.

Bacarty was right

If this right here doesn't remove any legitimacy the Pro Bowl process still had, then I don't know what will.

The only thing that makes sense is that basically every other QB in the AFC turned down the replacement spot.  Huntley had 112 passing attempts this season (44th in the NFL).  Shouldn't there have to be a minimum of some kind for passing to be eligible?

He has been really good lately. He had a bit of a bad patch after the injury earlier in the year but he’s on it now. I think he moves into clear pro bowler level next year and starts to get some All-Pro votes as well.

Do we know what Lane and Kelce plan on doing after the SB?

Was listening to BWF podcast they said lane told them it felt like the complete opposite of 2017 where they were challenged a lot by having to overcome season ending injuries throughout the year and this year they’ve managed to avoid the significant season ending injuries except to Barnett.

Losing Barnett was a net plus

Just when you think the pro bowl can't lose any more of its legitimacy.

It's not like there's no other QBs in the AFC to pick. Tua would make the most sense, even if he can't play in the game. At least give him the accolade for his performance over the year. Even Russell Wilson, Jacoby Brissett, Derek Carr, or Matt Ryan would have made more sense.

Herbert?

I will be surprised if the high draft pick isnt a DE

If Tyree Wilson or Myles Murphy are available at pick #10 I agree with you, but if they are gone I think that pick will either be a CB or OT.  DE may come with one of their later picks.

If they sign Seumalo to an extension prior to the Draft, he becomes a "sign and trade” asset that could garner a pick that turns into a DE.  I like Carter from Army as a 2nd Round prospect, but I’m not seeing him in the latest ESPN prospects rankings.

I made reference to it last week, but next season might look like this:

AFC: Burrow, Mahomes, Allen, Jackson, Watson, Lawrence, Herbert, Rodgers (if the Pack trade him to the AFC as planned)

NFC: Hurts.....Cousins?  Jones? Dak? Brady (maybe)?

Hilarious.  Its shaping up like the 2000s

Ok... let's forget about a lot of fancy stuff then.   Steam roll the Chiefs' D.   Keep Mahomes off the field, take the heart from the Chiefs' D.

Sirianni and company just need to go back and look at the Titans-Chiefs matchup.  The Titans D kept the score close against the Chiefs offense (though they got some gawdy yards stats) and the Titans' offense racked up rushing yards, while Malik Willis was 5 for 16 for 80 yards passing.   Game went to OT.    Titans lost 17-20.

If the Eagles hold the Chiefs to 20, they should win by double digits.

Herbert? How? I thought we weren't playing against Chargers in 2023

Go Birds podcast today saying Jalen should be the face of the league and I agree.  I think he will become that when the Eagles beat the Chiefs for the Super Bowl.

He is too stern/stoic/serious to be the face of the NFL.  If he were inclined to smile a bit more often, then maybe that could happen.

Sigh. Hurts has been good enough these playoffs. Didn’t have to do much against the giants, but got the job done easily. Was not good passing against a good D in SF, but he stepped up and made plays when he had to. He’s a gamer for sure. And he doesn’t turn it over at all.

Foles struggled against Atlanta, but his games against Minny and NE would be nearly impossible to surpass. This doesn’t take anything away from Hurts, but Foles run that playoffs is another level that Hurts hasn’t matched. It doesn’t mean we hate Hurts or think he sucks. Foles was just ridiculous.

I don't think Hurts' running ability and decision to hand off the ball should be ignored.  You routinely saw Greenlaw and Warner standing flat footed because Hurts has could have kept the ball.  So Hurts didn't have the best day throwing the ball. His decision making and playmaking abilities, however, impact the effectiveness of the running game have an impact that's hard to compare against just a passing QB.  Foles was incredible in 2 games.  He was deservedly the Super Bowl MVP.  I don't think Hurts has played to that level but it's a harder comparison to make if you don't consider the other ways Hurts helps the offense.

Rodgers, Goff

Yeah, he listed Rodgers as potentially AFC. Goff is a good one, and both Murray and Stafford are wild cards.

If LAR is healthy next year and their GM does some more wheeling and dealing, would it be so shocking if they’re a 12 win team again?

And ARI really depends on who they get as HC and if they make any big moves this offseason. Kyler is mercurial but has proven to be able to string wins together when the team is rolling and Kingsbury isn’t in his November swoon

The NFCCG prediction winner goes to @Cliftoma who predicted a 34-10 Eagles win.

Bonus prediction winners:

@Aerolithe_Lion Hurts has 11+ carries

@BigEFly Reddick Sack

@EaglePhan1986 Defense forces 3 TO's

@LeanMeanGM Reddick strip sack

On to the Super Bowl!
